Looks like VTSS has some good potential upside, just recently hit a 52wk bottom at 1.50. Since then it has bounced off and past the 50 DMA and is piercing the 100 DMA. Currently at 2.05 up 5.13% and up in AH. Im looking at entering in a position looking for a small pullback. Any good chartist out there that can do an in depth chart?

Looking at this 2 year chart. IMHO
Over the time span of 2005,appears VTSS has formed a ,
Falling Wedge (Reversal) Pattern, and it looks like it may just want to breakout of this pattern.
There's a lot competition in this industry, but even insiders are buying at these levels. Chart is turning.

Falling Wedge (Reversal) Pattern
The falling wedge is a bullish pattern that begins wide at the top and contracts as prices move lower. This price action forms a cone that slopes down as the reaction highs and reaction lows converge. In contrast to symmetrical triangles, which have no definitive slope and no bias, falling wedges definitely slope down and have a bullish bias. However, this bullish bias cannot be realized until a resistance breakout.

The falling wedge can also fit into the continuation category. As a continuation pattern, the falling wedge will still slope down, but the slope will be against the prevailing uptrend. As a reversal pattern, the falling wedge slopes down and with the prevailing trend. Regardless of the type (reversal or continuation), falling wedges are regarded as bullish patterns.

As with rising wedges, the falling wedge can be one of the most difficult chart patterns to accurately recognize and trade. When lower highs and lower lows form, as in a falling wedge, a security remains in a downtrend. The falling wedge is designed to spot a decrease in downside momentum and alert technicians to a potential trend reversal. Even though selling pressure may be diminishing, demand does not win out until resistance is broken. As with most patterns, it is important to wait for a breakout and combine other aspects of technical analysis to confirm signals.

Good day for entry; today and tomorrow VTSS will probley see low 2.30s up after this small pullback.

bjc

Bought VTSS at 2.32.

I think she's about done sitting on the 200 ma and ready for more.  Bounced off 13 ema today.

Richard

So what do you think about today's action? Looks like this one could have some room to run up around $3.50-$3.75 or so...the market has been crazy volatile, but I really like semis right now.

Thoughts??

Vitesse Unveils Crosspoint Switch Product Family Establishing New Benchmarks for Signal Integrity Performance and Flexibility
Tuesday February 7, 8:00 am ET
Wide-Bandwidth PixEQ(TM) Equalization Technology Addresses Signal Integrity Issues in High Speed Interconnect applications up to 11 Gbps

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2006--Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. (Nasdaq:VTSS - News) today announced the availability of the VSC3312, a 12 port crosspoint switch with enhanced signal equalization capabilities for transmitting multi-gigabit data signals across printed circuit boards, through backplane connectors and over copper cabling used in networking and storage systems. Adding to Vitesse's industry leading portfolio of crosspoint and signal conditioner IC products, the VSC3312 is the first of a family of products operating from DC up to 11 Gbps and features Vitesse's unique PixEQ(TM) technology that advances high-speed signal integrity performance. Implementing the industry's first dual time constant programmable input signal equalization and output signal pre-emphasis, the VSC3312 compensates for multiple impairments in a signal path. In addition, the product family introduces re-configurable Input/Output (I/O) device interfaces allowing the user to optimize I/Os to their exact system requirements.

Unique Feature Set

The VSC3312 is the industry's first crosspoint product capable of detecting and transmitting loss of signal (LOS) allowing native Out-of-Band (OOB) support of SAS/SATA storage protocols. This architecture also provides protocol transparent operation and allows each channel to run independently. This allows the device to support a wide frequency range encompassing virtually all data protocols including GbE, XAUI, 2X XAUI, SAS, SATA, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand(TM). Additional members of this crosspoint switch product family will be introduced in the near future.

The combined functions of crosspoint switching and Vitesse's unique PixEQ(TM) equalization make the VSC3312 a highly cost effective, low power signal integrity tool useful wherever there are high-speed signals. The VSC3312 incorporates a broadband, fully non-blocking and multicasting switch core and flexible fourth-generation equalization and pre-emphasis I/O capability. The device can perform signal fan-out, loop-back, and protection switching and also regenerate signals otherwise compromised by losses in the transmission medium. Vitesse's PixEQ(TM) equalization capability works independently of the data rate, providing highly effective compensation for deterministic jitter across a wide range of operating conditions without requiring re-tuning. In addition, the VSC3312 consumes only 160mW per channel thereby dramatically reducing power requirements by up to 50% over previous generation devices.

The re-configurable Input/Output (I/O) capability of this product family allows ports to operate as either an input or output for a total of nine different I/O combinations from 8:16 to 16:8. Re-configurable I/O dramatically improves signal allocation and routing flexibility and reduces overall chip count.

"With this product introduction, Vitesse is setting a new benchmark in performance and flexibility. This is truly a universal, cost-effective Signal Integrity solution for high speed copper interconnects," said Juan Garza, Vitesse Product Marketing Manager.

World Class Signal Integrity

Vitesse was first to introduce integrated signal equalization in crosspoints switches and now has nearly a decade of successful product developments with dozens of products in production. Vitesse's latest generation PixEQ technology enables a new level of signal integrity engineering with the introduction of dual time constant equalization. Dual time constant equalization allows the system designer to independently compensate for multiple impairments in the signal path, such as connectors and cabling or skin effect and dielectric losses in PCB traces. Dual time constant equalization also provides a significantly wider compensation range so that a single device can be used in multiple applications, from PCB traces to backplanes to copper cabling.

Pricing & Availability

The VSC3312 operates on a single 2.5V supply with a typical per-channel power dissipation of 160mW and is available in a high-density 15mm x 15mm, 196-pin PBGA package. General samples are available now with volume pricing at $36 per unit.

More information on Vitesse Signal Integrity solutions can be found at www.vitesse.com/SI. Vitesse will also be participating in DesignCon 2006 February 7-8 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. To schedule a meeting with Vitesse at DesignCon, please send meeting request to [email protected].

I was watching Cramer last night and thought I would try to get into one of his picks and try to ride the rocket!  I was poised over my keyboard....  waiting for the stock....  ready to type it into Ameritrade.  He says, "VTSS", I quickly type it in only to see that it is already around $3.50/share!  So much for trying to ride one of his picks!  Haha, I have watched some of his picks in the past and it's funny to hear him mention a stock and watch the ticker at the bottom of the screen as it starts to quickly move higher and higher....

Then the freefall begins....  ;)

higherstocks,

I wish it was that easy - you just get his picks before he announces and then sell the next day with 5-10% gain, although 9 out of 10 pick move even higher. Sounds good, isn't it  :D ? We would have been millionares in no time ;D.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. I had a free trial subscription to his service couple of months ago and the only thing he does is send you an e-mail regarding his portfolio but not his picks.

Anyway I have to admit there is something "fishy" - like basonista said every time when he announces a pick the price is already up, even on the very next second. Like somebody's waiting to unload............;)

Having said all that the only thing I do now is to put his pick on watch list and then wait - sometimes even months for a trend to develop.

Good luck.

Pretty strong close today... in at 3.16, along with many in the trading group I belong to.

We'll see where it goes.
