Mass. companies named in Deloitte's Fast 50
Thursday September 14, 11:39 am ET

Deloitte & Touche USA LLP ranked Litle & Co. at the top of its annual New England Technology Fast 50 list, just two weeks after Inc. Magazine placed Litle at No. 1 on its list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

The Lowell, Mass.-based Litle, which develops and sells payment processing systems to direct marketers, racked up eye-popping revenue growth of 33,683 percent from 2001 to 2006.

The annual Deloitte & Touche Fast 50, which ranks technology companies by five-year revenue growth, was unveiled Wednesday at an event in Newton, Mass.

"To rank on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50, companies must have phenomenal revenue growth over five years," said Steve DiPietro, partner with Deloitte & Touche's Boston office. "Litle & Co. has proven to be one of the fast-growth success stories in New England."

Litle company was founded in 2001 by Thomas J. "Tim" Litle, who a year ago was named a member of the Direct Marketing Association Hall of Fame.

Repeaters on Deloitte's Fast 50 -- which produced its tenth annual list this week -- include Unica Corp. of Waltham, Mass., which produces marketing management software and is appearing on the list for the seventh consecutive year. Six-time repeaters on list: eCopy Inc. of Nashua, N.H.; Ibasis Inc. of Burlington, Mass.; and Network Engines Inc. of Canton, Mass.

Deloitte gave special notice to two "comeback companies," both information technology firms, that had not appeared on the list since 2000: InteQ Corp. of Bedford, Mass. at No. 36 and Boston's Eze Castle Software at No. 43.

Here are the top ten companies in the Deloitte & Touche New England Technology Fast 50:

1. Litle & Co., Lowell, Mass.

2. Arbor Networks Inc., Lexington, Mass.

3. Compete Inc., Boston, Mass.

4. Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge, Mass.

5. Data Intensity Inc., Waltham, Mass.

6. Constant Contact, Waltham, Mass.

7. Agiltron Inc., Woburn, Mass.

8. Evergreen Solar Inc., Marlborough, Mass.

9. Coley Pharmaceutical Group Inc., Wellesley, Mass.

10. Picis Inc., Wakefield, Mass.

NENG looking really, really good once again.  Positive divergence on the MACD, breaks of the 50 and 200 dmas and a couple days of increased volume.  Here's the chart... check it out for yourself.  Will decide on EGHT or NENG tomorrow morning to invest my remaining $700.

dwest718

Thinking about adding some at open... no one else has an opinion?

dwest718

Here are some mid/long term charts.  A little bit less rosy picture but still solid.  Good for 10% and if it breaks out could be good for 40-50% or so.

Hi dwest718

Thanks for posting Wrangler and <applause> for your analysis.  Yeah the resistance and support in this area is a little iffy but all the indicators point towards bullish sentiment and it just bounced off the trend line.  Think I will try to put an order in for 325 shares @ 2.20-2.22 and put a stop in @ around 1.85 and see where we go from there.

dwest718

320 shares @ 2.28 ... got a little anxious and went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Nothing really special about the chart so far today.  Good MACD movement though.

wrangler

Hi dwest718
Something to think about.
You bought 320 shares @2.28 = 729.60 + 14.00 comm. = 743.60 divided by 320 = 2.32 is actually what you paid for it. Comm. would be the buy and sell paid to broker. I alway's calculate the commission's in my buy price as my total price I paid
If you're stop loss is hit @1.85 that would be a loss of around 20%. It is recommended to never take more than 8% loss on any trade depending on what amount of risk an investor is willing to take.
Just wanted to make you aware of the amount of loss you would get if you're stop loss got hit but you're trading a small amount of shares so the loss would be small compared to what it would be if it was 1000 shares or more.
Whatever you're trading plan is,,I hope it turn's you some green in you're account

I understand  :D... I'm willing to take that chance of the 20% loss... that's usually how low I set my stops.  I'm up 9% over the last 10 weeks so I can't really complain.  Hope to keep up that track record or maybe even do better than that.

Besides... I can take a bit more risk than most.  I've got half my portfolio locked up in long term investments and a 40 year investment horizon  ;D

I'll post a bit of analysis on NENG when I get the chance tonight.  An interesting candlestick today but solid action to finish the day in a fairly positive manner.
