Very nice Breakout from the Ascending Triangle.
MNG looks great with it's chart and indicators.
Great stock to own and will benefit from the gold bull market
in 2006. I look for MNG to attract some attention from other big gold stocks
who are looking to buy good smaller gold stocks. This looks to be a good candidate
for that. Time to buy MNG and get some nice profits in 2006.
IMHO... Will break $2.75 soon and then $2.95 and
over $3.00 in Jan/Feb 2006.

Support @ $2.26...2.12...2.08
You have to look at a 3 year chart to find long term resistance.
Resistance @ $2.93

Quick question.  Is the RSI (14) reaching an overbought condition a concern to anyone?

setravis

Use
Overbought/Oversold
Wilder recommended using 70 and 30 and overbought and oversold levels respectively. Generally, if the RSI rises above 30 it is considered bullish for the underlying stock. Conversely, if the RSI falls below 70, it is a bearish signal. Some traders identify the long-term trend and then use extreme readings for entry points. If the long-term trend is bullish, then oversold readings could mark potential entry points.

Newmont to Acquire Miramar for $1.53B
Tuesday October 9, 10:30 am ET
Newmont Mining to Acquire Canadian Gold Miner Miramar for $1.53B

DENVER (AP) -- Newmont Mining Corp., one of the world's largest gold mining companies, on Tuesday said it has agreed to buy Canadian rival Miramar Mining Corp. about $1.53 billion.
The offer of 6.25 Canadian dollars ($6.36) per share represents a 24 percent premium over Miramar's closing stock price of $5.15 on Monday in New York.

In a joint statement, the companies said the acquisition will be in the form of a takeover bid, with full details being disclosed to shareholders by the end of October.

Miramar's board has unanimously agreed to the bid, and is expected to recommend the deal to shareholders, the companies said.

In 2005, Newmont acquired a 9.9 percent stake in Miramar by investing $36.4 million in a then-undeveloped Canadian gold field known as the Hope Bay gold belt.

Newmont said the acquisition will allow for construction of a new mining district in Canada's Nunavut territory, and give it more opportunities to expand existing projects in the country.

In premarket trading, shares of Miramar surged 88 cents, or 17.1 percent, to $6.03, while Newmont added 16 cents to $44.99.
