OK,

I bought into LOUD last week the day affter the first big jump and filled a position at .61, fairly confident that it would keep going at least up to .70.  However, this appears to have not been the case, and I'm now sitting with a very quick and quite nasty 20% loss.  So, was wondering what others thought about LOUD at the moment and am trying to figure out a trading plan.

For now, LOUD seems to have found solid support at .48, and this can be seen as the last high close before the recent breakout.  There is also a steep ascending trendline approaching, which if LOUD continues its nowhere movement it should run intto by the end of the week.  I still think the top of that descending channel is very attainable, as is a break to fill the gap above.

So, my plan is as follows:  Hold unless it is set to close below .48 - this has been demonstrated as resistance, and I don't want to see a bigger loss if it does.  If it doesn't get a bounce off the ascending trendline, then there is also not much further upwards momentum, so will also be a sell signal.

Best case:  Take profits between .68 and .72 if I see it getting up there, otherwise aim for a break even around .61.  This was meant to be a fast trade, and I'm don't want to have my money tied up too much longer, but am also curious about others' thoughts and trading plans - it does seem to have bottomed, but do you see it getting a second leg up?

ScottishTrader,
All IMHO, I think there is an Upside move coming now,Techs are in place. Rally is imminent.
I think it is getting (pulled back to) support here at 0.48
I believe you have thought your plan out well. As Ramsburgh has said, "Plan the Trade and Trade the Plan." < His motto below his Icon. I'm still holding my shares. May be things will go well for us share holders tomorrow.

didn't like that end of day low touch below .48, but maybe LOUD needs to bounce off that trendline to gain some momentum.  Should know tomorrow as the trandline comes into play.  A break below it has to eb a clear sell.

Loudeye broke key ascending support this morning on breaking the news that it is closing its Overpeer division:

Loudeye to Exit Content Protection Services Business, Reducing Cost Structure
Friday December 9, 7:05 am ET

SEATTLE, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Loudeye Corp. (Nasdaq: LOUD - News), a worldwide leader in business-to-business digital media solutions, today announced an important step in its effort to focus its business and reduce its cost structure. Loudeye announced that Overpeer, Inc., Loudeye's wholly-owned content protection subsidiary, has ceased operations effective immediately and will continue to pursue options to maximize the value of its assets.
As a result, Loudeye has reduced its quarterly consolidated cost structure by approximately $1.6 million, or 10%, compared to third quarter 2005 levels. Overpeer expects to incur approximately $200,000 in severance and related payroll costs associated with the closing of its operations, which is expected to be paid during December 2005. In addition, Overpeer may incur additional wind-down costs to terminate property or equipment leases, and other contracts. The cessation of the Overpeer operations may also result in the acceleration of depreciation or amortization or the impairment of certain fixed and intangible assets. Loudeye anticipates that the net assets and results of operations for Overpeer will be presented as discontinued operations in its consolidated financial statements.

"We continue to focus our business on growth opportunities with digital distribution. Our actions to exit content protection services will substantially improve our go-forward cost structure," said Mike Brochu, Loudeye's president and chief executive officer.

They may be reducing costs by closing a loss making division, but I can't see this as good news.  Next support is at .43, but the recent ascending trendline is broken, and I am already holding a 30% loss in a week. :-[
So am currently trying to get my .46 sell order filled (going through slowly).  Good luck Setravis if you are still in there.

Loudeye Sees Record Number of Paid Music Downloads During 2005 Holiday Season
Friday January 6, 7:05 am ET

SEATTLE and LONDON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Loudeye Corp. (Nasdaq: LOUD - News), a worldwide leader in digital media solutions, today announced it experienced record transactional volume of digital music downloads from its European operations during the 2005 holiday season.

Strong December 2005 downloading drove an increase in transactional volume of more than 200% compared to the same period in 2004. Approximately 85,000 tracks were downloaded on Christmas Day alone, a one-day record for Loudeye's European music store services. Of these, over 60,000 were unique tracks, showing the diverse range of content appealing to consumers.

"These results show that the appetite for legal music downloads continues to grow at a strong pace," said Ed Averdieck, managing director of Loudeye Europe. "Together with our retail partners, we believe we are well placed to capture growing demand for digital music in 2006."

Loud Technologies applies for NASDAQ listing
Tuesday January 31, 2:07 pm ET

Audio and music product maker and distributor Loud Technologies Inc. has filed to list its stock on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
Woodinville-based Loud is currently traded on the Over The Counter Bulletin Board exchange under symbol LTLG. In November, the company performed a one-for-five reverse stock split, a decision that company officials said they hoped would increase shareholder value, increase its visibility in the financial markets and expand trading volume.

Loud Technologies develops professional audio products under several brands, including Mackie, the former name of the company and its high-end audio brand.

The stock symbol LOUD on the NASDAQ exchange is currently held by Loudeye Corp., a digital media services company based in Seattle. But Loudeye Corp. is in danger of being delisted by NASDAQ because its stock price has not met the exchange's minimum required price of $1 per share for 30 consecutive days.
