Melf, I like your enthusiasm for INSM.  I believe the break out will happen when some volume comes in...  With these Bio pharms we need some news, and when/if we get some INSm is poised for a nice break out i believe

Scotts, thanks for watching while you take care of business, I hope all goes smoothly and you are back in the game quickly.

Cheers Joe

Joe,

I like "nested" patterns, or multiple patterns, ala ATI and INTC, recently, but naturally, these continuation patterns actually have to  breakout (1.34 for the second Bullish Falling Wedge...1.35 for the Symmetrical Triangle with the nested Bullish Falling Wedges), then continue .  :D

Right.

It's got head room between here and serious resistance in the 1.60s (which is where the highest of the bullish targets would be, at 1.61 and 1.63),, and it  has got the fire power of these bullish patterns, with which to get there, if it breaks out!

Given the short-term weakness in the 13/21 RSIs, we could be in for some more frustrating morphing, as The Scotsman pointed out, like a morph into a Bull Flag at the 50 DMA, which currently stands at 1.22.

The next measures of RSI, stepping down the Fibonacci sequence, are the 21/34RSIs, and they still look fine and have some room on the downside to come into Bullish Synchronicity, then bounce higher, if we should  morph into a Bull Flag on the price chart.

Here's what that would look like.

See the Green #4?  The 50DMA actualy is at 1.2264 at Friday's close, and it's rising slightly each day since we're throwing out low numbers from 50 days ago, so it soon will be at 1.23.

For a Bull Flag morph, INSM would go down there, show us that the 50DMA is support, then breakout of the Bull Flag.

Hmm-mm...

I think I'd better lower my stop, to allow for that possibility!  :D

Melf Elf

There's the 1.34 technical breakout of the little Bullish Falling Wedge.  We need 1.35 for a breakout of the Symmetrical Triangle, with the nested Bullish Falling Wedges.  And, some volume, please!  :D

There's 1.35.  Volume only is average, though, so we won't jump up and down.  ::)  ;D

Insmed Sues Tercica for False Advertising
Monday October 16, 4:15 pm ET

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM - News) announced today that it has sued Tercica, Inc. for allegedly false and misleading statements Tercica has made in advertising and promoting Increlex(TM), Tercica's Severe Primary IGFD treatment. In a counterclaim filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Insmed charges that Tercica has made numerous unlawful, false and misleading statements Increlex and/or IPLEX(TM), the only once daily treatment for children with short stature associated with severe primary IGF-I deficiency (Primary IGFD).

At issue are statements made by Tercica that Insmed believes are likely to mislead customers into believing that Increlex is a superior choice in Primary IGFD treatments. Those statements include misrepresentations that Increlex is the most convenient, stable and easy-to-handle Primary IGFD treatment; false statements that IPLEX requires "special equipment" or "elaborate thawing" procedures; statements that falsely minimize concerns about the incidence of severe hypoglycaemia during treatment with an IGF-1 drug (in contrast to Tercica's admissions to the FDA); and unfair and misleading price comparisons, which misrepresent the relative costs of using Increlex and IPLEX.

Insmed seeks an injunction barring Tercica from making these misrepresentations, an order compelling Tercica to recall its false advertisements and issue corrections, and an award of profits, damages, and attorney's fees and costs.

Insmed's counterclaim is part of its response to false advertising claims that Tercica brought against Insmed in June. Portions of those claims were dismissed by the Court earlier this month. The matter is scheduled for trial in March.

About IPLEX

IPLEX is approved in the United States as the only once daily treatment for children with short stature associated with severe primary IGF-I deficiency (Primary IGFD). IPLEX, a complex of recombinant human IGF-I and its binding protein IGFBP-3 (rhIGF-I/rhIGFBP-3), is the only FDA-approved IGF-I replacement therapy that also replaces deficient IGFBP-3 in these patients. The drug, which was launched in the second quarter of 2006, is also being investigated for various other indications with unmet medical needs, including severe insulin resistance, myotonic muscular dystrophy and HIV Associated Adipose Redistribution Syndrome (HARS). For more information about IPLEX please go to www.go-IPLEX.com.

About Insmed

Insmed is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of drugs for the treatment of metabolic diseases and endocrine disorders with unmet medical needs. For more information, please visit www.insmed.com.

Insmed Sues Tercica for False Advertising

Se7en,

Kewl.  8)  >:D

That's interesting timing, technically, isn't it?  ::)

10:42AM Insmed announces that the U.S. District Court in part Insmed's motion to dismiss unfair competition claims brought against Insmed by Tercica (INSM) 1.37

That bit of news on October 5 didn't do much for the stock, other than to give it a little pop out of The Scotsman's Bullish Falling Wedge, which resulted in the sideways-to-down morphing into a SECOND Bullish Falling Wedge, from which we broke out of yesterday, on a closing basis.

On this news, INSM is better-positioned, technically, with our DOUBLE Bullish Falling Wedge nested with the Symmetrical Triangle, and with the stock sitting right there , champing at the bit for a breakout.  INSM broke out intraday yesterday, hinting that it wants to go higher, but couldn't close it out at 1.35.

I'd like to see INSM indicated at something like BID 1.36...ASK 1.37 at the open, right at yesterday's high, then take off to the upside.

In this technical situation, it almost doesn't matter what the news is.  Just the fact that there is news could spark  buying interest from the momo boys, on a technical breakout.  DNDN is similarly positioned for the open today, although it did breakout yesterday on a closing basis.

Maybe DNDN ought to get with the program, and sue somebody!   ;D

Thanks for this news, Se7en.  Applaud.

Here's the little Bullish Falling Wedge breakout.  Targets: 1.42 and 1.49 are IN PLAY, as long as 1.28 isn't taken out.

EDIT: The Scotsman's Bullish Falling Wedge Target: 1.61 still is IN PLAY since the 1.26 low of that pattern hasn't been taken out.

Melf Elf

TRIPLE Breakout of the two Bullish Falling Wedges and the Symmetrical Triangle, within which the wedges are nested.

Bullish Engulfing candle on the day, on 2 times 100 day average volume.  This "should" get us going to the upside soon.

Upside Targets:

1.54 IN PLAY

1.61 IN PLAY

1.62 IN PLAY

Minor Targets of 1.42 and 1.47 also are IN PLAY

INSM still trading within the symmetrical triangle, I opened a position this morning at 1.31 looking to minimize risk in case it breaks down just below 1.30

INSM will not be value fairly until the lawsuit cloud is gone. It might take months for that.

Whadda pain in the $#%#.  :D

This looked very good, with the breakout of the nested patterns, but no volume and no upside follow-thru.  :P

We're back in the channel.  The low at Blue #2 it 1.26, and we're there, at the low of the day.  If 1.25 gets printed I'll sell.

I didn't post the trade, but I wanted to follow-up on my posts in this folder.

It will be a 6% loss.  :(

bocasva,

Good for you, for following your plan.  Applause.

I expected to get knocked out of this trade, and likely will, but 1.26 held, so I'm still in it.
