CHATSWORTH, Calif., Jul 12, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation(R) (www.microturbine.com) (CPST, Trade), the world's leading manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, announced today that Walter "Chuck" McBride has been appointed as the company's Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer effective July 11, 2005.

McBride replaces Karen Clark, who had notified Capstone's Chief Executive Officer, John Tucker, that she is resigning to pursue other interests.

McBride most recently served as Executive Vice-President & CFO of First Consulting Group (FCG), Inc. (FCGI, Trade), an information technology services company.

"Over the past five years, Chuck was instrumental in FCG's transformation from a consulting company to a comprehensive IT services firm," Tucker said. "As a key member of FCG's leadership, the company doubled billable resources, acquired several companies both international and domestic, substantially increased cash and transformed FCG's operating model through aggressive cost cutting and process improvement.

"I feel strongly that Chuck is the right fit for Capstone as we move forward," Tucker added.

Prior to his employment with FCG, McBride served as the CFO for several innovative technology companies including Emulex (ELX, Trade), Kistler Aerospace, Unplugged Communication and CalComp.

McBride graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with honors. He earned a master's degree in computer systems management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a member of Financial Executives International.

In conjunction with accepting employment with Capstone Turbine Corporation, McBride will receive a 10-year stock option grant to purchase 500,000 shares of the common stock of Capstone Turbine Corporation, 25% of which will vest after one year and the remaining 75% vest on a pro rata basis over the ensuing 48 months. McBride will receive an additional grant of 500,000 shares of the common stock of Capstone Turbine Corporation (subject to certain conditions) after completing six months of employment as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The exercise price for options granted to McBride will be the fair market value of Capstone Turbine Corporation's common stock on the business day prior to the applicable option grant.

Regarding Clark's resignation, Tucker commented, "Karen was instrumental in many positive initiatives and accomplishments here at Capstone over the last three years. We thank her for her efforts and she has our best wishes for continued professional success."

Setravis,

Like this chart alot. Did you buy? Is it too late?
Thanks

setravis

Tommyt,
Yes I'm in. This looks to have some major resistance @ $1.89 might be getting a little top heavy. I would wait and watch for a pull back to take a position if it then look good for the entry.

Capstone First to Gain UL on Generators for NEC Class...

CHATSWORTH, Calif., Jul 14, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation(R) (www.microturbine.com) (CPST, Trade), the world's leading manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, today announced that Underwriters Laboratories Inc. has confirmed that Capstone successfully completed certification testing on its new 30-kilowatt product specifically designed for hazardous oil & gas applications. This certification states that the 30-kilowatt product meets the stringent NEC Class I, Division 2, Groups C and D classification where explosive gases may be present under abnormal conditions.

According to the UL's Hazardous Locations Gas & Oil Group, which completed its certification testing of Capstone's 30R-SD4-ZJXX product last Monday, Capstone is the first stationary engine manufacturer to receive UL certification for NEC Class I, Division 2. The formal listing process will be completed in the next few weeks and will note that the 30-kilowatt Class I, Division 2, Groups C and D certification will be for hazardous area operating temperature class T2 (300 degrees C). The unit is protected with Type X pressurization in accordance with NFPA 496.

"This wellhead gas fueled microturbine product for offshore and other hazardous area locations is exactly what our oil company customers have been seeking," said Capstone CEO John R. Tucker. "As resource recovery system, our microturbine products have several distinct advantages over competing technologies. Achieving this UL certification is an important milestone of our strategic plan. This success further demonstrates our focus and continued progress against our corporate objectives, and positions Capstone MicroTurbines(R) to be the preferred electric generators for this demanding oil and gas application."

Tucker noted that Capstone satisfied a previously received order for two "hazardous area placement" C30 CID2 units that are now being commissioned on a Louisiana offshore platform. Capstone has been active in the research and development of offshore products for several years, including the installation of microturbine products with several multinational operators on oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, Bay of Campeche, Gulf of Alaska, the North Sea and Mediterranean Sea.

An NEC Class I, Division 2 60-kilowatt C60 Offshore model is expected to be submitted to UL for certification and available later this year.
