This is why CPST went down yesterday, I expect a rebound on Monday; however, the damage is done.

A fake PR from Reuters went out on Friday afternoon  >:(. From CPST website:

"Reuters Acknowledges Posting an Erroneous Message about Capstone on Their Website"

Frederick,

The bottom of the Bear Flag for today, April 28, is 4.055, so the early print of 4.05 is a techinical break below the Bear Flag.  Target: 3.45 is IN PLAY

Bought CPST at 3.45.  The Bear Flag target: 3.45 MADE.

CPST currently is BID 3.46...ASK 3.47

Bought CPST at 3.45.  The Bear Flag target: 3.45 MADE.

Sold CPST at 3.32.  Loss: 3.8%%

I had a nice exit on the break of the Bear Flag at 4.05, and thought that I had a real good re-entry at the 3.45 target and at the 200DMA.  I didn't.   Sold into this morning's rally.

The New York Sales and Service office of Capstone Turbine Corporation®  announced today that it has received its first Materials Equipment Acceptance (MEA) approval from the New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDoB) MEA Division and the New York Fire Department.

Since the large short interest (Short % of Float 15.16 % ), it may cause a sqeez.

Charts indicate a reversal.
High crude prices and oil exploration are good for this stock. A day or two of high volume and little price change would be the final signal needed to verify price reversal is solid.

anyone have any thoughts on this one? this stock has been severely punished. at $1.28 and holding, i'm considering catching this falling knife.  :o

Does look tempting in some ways.  You have a Tweezer Bottoms on the candlesticks, actually for 3 days instead of the normal 2.  I am going to have to sleep on this one though.  I called a good bottom in PWAC recently and didnt have the guts to get in it, it doubled before going down again... maybe CPST can rebound, but I think its the victim of the general energy sector breakdown, and even then it was only an energy alternative.  If it does rebound, I wouldnt stay in too long probably.

alchemist,

I was going to post on CPST last weekend in Melf's Workshop on the Personal Log Board.

Topic: "Identifying The Trend"  CPST: 16 Bearish Moves    :o

I decided that the post would be too long, and too boring.  ;D

But, from the April 19 Double Top at 4.47, there actually are at least 16 moves in the stock that clearly are identifiable as bearish.

Severely punished is right!  Down 71.4% from the April Double Top.  :o

I can see why you're tempted.  ;D  >:D

I was similarly tempted in VLO last week, when it "appeared" to have put in a Bullish Morning Star.  NOT.  I got busted out of it for a 2.7% loss, which wasn't bad, given that the reward was three times that, if I got a rally back to $55 resistance.

Still,  even with the Bullish Morning Star, it was a trade aganinst the trend, and it was "catching the falling knife," which I try to avoid like the plague, so it's probably best that I got spanked for it.

;D

tok,

I know. More evil temptation.  ;D  >:D

The late July - early August Tweezer at 1.74 - 1.75, after a nasty move down, got rewarded if one was quick enough to get out near the 2.10 high, just below the 22-day Kijun-sen (solid red line).

Interestingly, there was a Triple Tweezer at 1.75 in Septermber, right at that same 1.74 - 1.75 support level.  That one looked to have a better chance since it was a broader base than that tiny little Double Tweezer, but it also was a Bearish Descending Triangle, in a bearish trend

That broke to the downside, so a buy at 1.75 currently is down 26.9%.   :o  >:(

Yes, but if you had played it, you KNOW that it would have crashed!  ;D  >:D

Yes, I agree.  "Maybe" a rally back to 1.74 - 1.75 resistance, which would be a real nice gain (roughly 35%), but CPST is in a serious bear market, so use a stop, and be sure to "Honor Thy Stop."

Good luck if you guys play it.  I admit that I'm tempted by the Triple Tweezer, those last two Doji Stars, and the fact that it's a good risk:reward (if it doesn't gap down), but I'm going to pass on it since it's a trade against a very strong bearish trend.

Tried to buy today at 1.26 and watched tons of orders get filled before me at that price, then I was passed by and its now at 1.29.  Oh well, I wasnt dying to get in, just liked the candlestick formation at that point and it seemed like good risk reward.  Probalby still is for those who got in at 1.26  :)

NEW YORK, August 29 (newratings.com) - Analysts at First Albany upgrade Capstone Turbine Corporation (CPST.NAS) from "neutral" to "buy."
The target price is set to $6.[/color]

In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company is focusing on improving its distribution channels, cost reduction measures, product reliability and competitive positioning. Capstone Turbine continues to gain traction in the New York City market, First Albany adds. The company's payback period and value proposition are expected to be enhanced by the impact of the new Energy Bill, the analysts say.
