Acorda Therapeutics
Briefing.com - October 17, 2006 9:51 AM ET

Lazard Captial reiterates Buy. Target $14 to $22.
Lazard raised their tgt on ACOR to $22 from $14 saying they hosted a dinner to discuss the Phase III Fampridine SR data and the reintroduction of Tysabri. The speakers agreed that Fampridine-SR would be appropriate for many of their M.S patients, possibly up to 50%. The speakers said the appeal is that the drug appears to improve symptoms independent of other MS treatments. The firm increased their 2009-10 annual pricing assumption to $7000 from $6000 per year, due to physicians' views that Fampridine-SR fills an unmet medical need and is more than a supportive-care drug. The firm says catalysts include initiating second Fampridine-SR Phase III trial in 1Q07, partnership for Fampridine-SR in Europe in 4Q06/1Q07.

Sales: Acordia Therapeutics (ACOR 17.35)
CEO sold 50K shares at $15.88-16.92;
Director sold 158.8K shares at $15.87-16.89...

FRPT was given an $11 target around $9 and look where that's headed...just sayin'

Be careful and don't be a pig...lot of resistance at $18, MACD turning down, RSI extended...and I'm short!

I tried shorting with etrade and they said no avalable shares. Looks like it was the right way to go. applaud

Jesus, what an incredible run ACOR had. You're shorting just because it went up so much in such a short period of time?

The guy that bought at $2.22 six weeks ago is still 633% ahead on his investment. Shorting now, if it goes to $0, all you can make is 100% (unless you're leveraged). It makes you think if shorting stocks is worth the effort and risk ... Livermore did it often, but he used very high leverage (which probably explains why he lost everything he owned, after being a millionaire, several times in his life).

Most of my life I've been a futures trader, and there it really is the same to be long or short, because of the leverage. But with stocks, I believe shorting isn't worth the effort, better be in cash or look for sound long plays. What do you think?

Good luck on this one, though  ;)

Welcome back David! ;)

ACOR is ready to turn I believe ;) 16 to 11 that's still 30% profit
