David, belated happy New Year first!

Actually that's my wish to have a cool head  :) Looking back to my largely unsuccessful investing/trading experience, often time wrong decisions were made when I was emotional (either too happy or too depressed), rushed to take action or speculative on a hunch. I liked your methodical approach and was hoping that you will have the coolest head.  ;D

It's not the issue of whether I was right on ONSM or not. I was away last Friday so I didn't get chance to sell ONSM, but I sold it today at the open. I was questioning your inconsistent logic. I sensed that ONSM was picked by you on a speculative nature and that made me uncomfortable (even though I blindly followed you  >:(). The problem with speculative pick is that: once it goes the other way, you start to have lots of questions and it becomes almost impossible to hold on. On the other hand, if you have done a thorough research, you will have better staying power. Take HAUP or DIET for example, they are both down hard today, but I feel better holding them than ONSM since you have done your leg work.  That doesn't mean you are right all the time even though you have done your hard research, but you have better shot to be right. Again, stocks can only go down 100% but can go up a lot more than 100%, statistically, if you can be right more than half of your picks, the result can be spectacular! With your demonstrated talent and hard work, I believe you can achieve that! All you need is a COOL HEAD  >:D

Nice rally on ONSM today. realcoolhead was right (he really has a cool head, its amazing :)), probably I should have held the stock longer.

Damn stops. I really dislike using them. They seem to protect from losses, but instead they create them. They're a defense from a misinformed trading decision, but nothing will save an investor from being misinformed.

My worst fear on ONSM was dilution (because it happened just recently, but perhaps I should have gone deeper on the subject, because maybe there won't be much more dilution going forward).

Bad trade, nice lesson.

Fortunately the Stocks on Fire portfolio biggest holdings, SYX and AMKR, are moving up by 5 - 7% today ... as other fundamentally attractive stocks of the portfolio.

HANDBALLJIM

I just read this post below on Yahoo boards about some guy who bought ONSM during the internet bubble.

QuoteI paid $222.80 per share for ONSM on 12/06/1999!  (1 Rating)      6-Jan-07 08:26 pm     I had to laugh when I looked up my original cost basis for ONSM! Remember, I got in at the height of the dot com craze in 1999 and averaged all the way down to $6.09 a share! Anyway,I need $31 a share to break even on my original purchases! You know, it could happen! Anyone else around from 1999?

I hope he at least learned his lesson about placing stop loss orders.
I have not read many posts on 3SOF about placing stop loss orders. Is it best to use a 6-8% rule or just place an order just below support??

I would like to pick up more ONSM at the 9ema Monday if possible.  Based on the chart and video online speculation, I believe this one will surpass the 52 week high this week...as long as the overall market stays afloat.

LOL. kslifka, we meet again.  I played ONSM Friday and sold most. I do agree it might have more legs but the volume on this move is not convincing yet.

Just sold my ONSM on this gap up.  It may go higher from here, but I am not sure this is a breakaway gap since the news was from yesterday, so I have an order in to buy back at the gap fill if it happens.
