Ah you gotta love  earnings season, it really sorts the men from the boys - nothing like a little suck it and see  ;)  I think I need to think about this a little more, but the chart sure says it wan that upside break....

Scotsman,

I liked the early session swoosh down to 8.75, and recovery to the top of the recent trading range.  HLIT has been showing a lot of resilience on those selloffs.  It's champing at the bit for a breakout, if earnings are well received.

We at least have some cushion if it closes near here, in case they disappoint.  Earnings come out an half from now, after the bell.

ScottishTrader

Well I like it, looks to be closing well.  I'm in for this one...

Scotsman,

This is strange.  Look at the 10,000 shares that traded at 9.25, after the bell.  Then it dropped to 8.80, and now it's at 8.61.

???

I don't think that earnings are out until 5PM, another hour.

Maybe they came out early?   ???

It just printed 8.65, and now 8.88.

After hours can be goofy, huh?  ;D

ScottishTrader

Earnings came out bang onthe bell:

Revs of $75.3M, non-GAAP eps of .13 vs. consensus estimates of $70M and .10,

Looks good to me overall

But maybe a bit of jostling before the CC.  I'm hanging in there for now.

Thanks, Scotsman.  Yeah, I saw it right after I posted you.

HLIT now is indicated at BID 8.85...ASK 8.94, down from the 9.05, but that looks okay.

I just bought it at 8.91.

Sold HLIT at 8.90 for a fractional loss.

The breakout to 9.19 this morning looked fine, but I didn't want to see another swoosh to the downside after that, like the one that we got.  :P

HLIT has been very resilient on these swooshes, and it might come back later today, but I expected the reaction to earnings to be the catalyst for a strong move higher, not another selloff, so I'll pass on this one.

Just leaving an updated chart, making sure HLIT is in my Metastock database.
