Good estimate. If the market believes the growth rate, might even see some PE expansion over this quarter.

JADE looking interesting for a move up soon.  JADE's been consolidating for a while and it looks like the Chinese market is holding up well while the U.S. markets are not so much.

MHJ (sells jewlery like JADE) by the way has been doing well the last 2 sessions.

I wonder if JADE will "bang up" against the 50 dma and then pop.  Or will it pop sooner??

I will wait a few days to see...but I'm pretty sure this one will have a good run soon. ;)

Press Release   Source: LJ International Inc.

Dutton Associates Announces Investment Opinion: LJ International Maintained at Speculative Buy (Possible Near Term Upgrade) Rating by Dutton Associates
Tuesday April 17, 12:00 pm ET

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dutton Associates continues its coverage of LJ International Inc. (Nasdaq:JADE - News) with an update report maintaining its rating at Speculative Buy (subject to upgrade) and a $16.00 target price. The updated report by Dutton senior analyst Sally L. Wallick, CFA is available at www.jmdutton.com as well as from First Call, Bloomberg, Zacks, Reuters, Knobias, and other leading financial portals.

LJ International has not yet reported fourth quarter and full year 2006 results. However, in mid February, the Company announced sharply higher revenue and earnings guidance for both periods. It projects fourth quarter revenue of $40 million, up 27% from $31.6 million a year earlier, and diluted earnings of $0.16 per share, 78% above the 2005 fourth quarter's earnings of $0.09 per share. For the full year, its projections are revenue of $123 million, up 30% year over year, and diluted earnings of $0.34 per share versus $0.24 per share in 2005. ENZO achieved positive earnings before interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2006 and appears to be on track to turn profitable some time in 2007. In light of ENZO's better-than-expected 2006 performance, the Company plans to accelerate the chain's expansion. We reiterate our Speculative Buy rating on LJI's shares. Based on our target price and Dutton Associates rating parameters, a rating of Strong Speculative Buy could be justified. However, we are maintaining our Speculative Buy rating for now pending the 2006 earnings report and will review this rating again following that release.

This is a Monster Move with big volume.
MACD turning North off the center line....nice deal... ;)
Looking for a retest of its previous high around $12.64.......
Keep an eye on volume at that point. But this will at least retest that area.

JADE currently trades at 37.24 times earnings, and an average long term growth rate of 36.0% and 56.0% short term growth rate. Actual P/E for Trailing Four Quarters is 43.5, and Forward Four Quarters Estimate is 32.4.

LJ International: Best Play Off Chinese Volatility?
A jewelry company that through its ENZO brand, has become the largest foreign jewelry retailer in China, could be the best way to play the recent volatility created by the Chinese market. The stock has had the wildest price movements in all of the Chinese related companies.

While the fundamentals are bright now, investors should still remain cautious because a change in China's economy will affect LJ International's earnings picture.

Flag, Pennant (Continuation) Patterns:
Flags and Pennants are short-term continuation patterns that mark a small consolidation before the previous move resumes. These patterns are usually preceded by a sharp advance or decline with heavy volume, and mark a mid-point of the move.

Even though flags and pennants are common formations, identification guidelines should not be taken lightly. It is important that flags and pennants are preceded by a sharp advance or decline. Without a sharp move, the reliability of the formation becomes questionable and trading could carry added risk. Look for volume confirmation on the initial move, consolidation and resumption to augment the robustness of pattern identification.

Flag: A flag is a small rectangle pattern that slopes against the previous trend. If the previous move was up, then the flag would slope down. If the move was down, then the flag would slope up. Because flags are usually too short in duration to actually have reaction highs and lows, the price action just needs to be contained within two parallel trend lines.

Pennant: A pennant is a small symmetrical triangle that begins wide and converges as the pattern matures (like a cone). The slope is usually neutral. Sometimes there will not be specific reaction highs and lows from which to draw the trend lines and the price action should just be contained within the converging trend lines.

Is it time for a correction ??  Well it seems to be pulling back into the 50d LinReg channel preparing to kiss the channel goodbye as it continues it's journey up into a new Impulse Wave 3. Holders should be blessed once this brief correction plays out.

JADE: Receives Nasdaq Delisting Notice for Failure to File Form 20-F
Friday , July 20, 2007 07:50ET

LJ International Inc. (JADE) received a letter from The Nasdaq Stock Market indicating that as a result of the Company's failure to file its Annual Report on Form 20-F for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2006 with the SEC by July 17, 2007 (the deadline for filing its Form 20-F after having requested a 15-day extension from the original due date), the Company is not in compliance with the Nasdaq requirements for continued listing, and its securities are, therefore, subject to delisting from The Nasdaq Global Market.

Seeking Alpha:
LJ International Worth the Wait?
Thursday July 19, 4:24 am ET

Ant & Sons submits: Another delay is hitting shares of LJ International Inc. (NasdaqGM: JADE - News) hard. The company announced that investors will have to wait even longer to see financial results. This follows a similar announcement that came in June when the company extended its filing date.
The talk
With assurances over the past few weeks that the company would meet the deadline, the stock was bid up and was trading just under its 52-week high of $13.15 after a long period of consolidation. Hence, the disappointment is being reflected again today with LJ International shares gapping lower. Just a few days ago, the stock was trading at a very reasonable 17x 2007 EPS and 12x 2008 EPS estimates and after the drop would be considered a bargain. Based on past guidance, the company is looking to continue to achieve double-digit annual growth while also widening its gross and net margins and is planning on opening new stores ahead of the 2008 Olympics in China. The results will be good but audited financials are lacking.

The technicals
Holding steady above the 50-day moving average and consolidating, shares were setting up for a new high but have now cracked below $10.

The takeaway
While the first quarter of this year saw a lot of institutional activity in this name, bringing total institutional ownership to roughly 24% of the common stock, the short interest is also at an all-time high with 2.3 million shares short in the latest month, much higher from the 27,080 shares short this time last year. Shorts are betting on a delisting and continued lack of financial statements that will trip up the stock price. In the short term, that strategy has worked as frustrated longs have sold out and moved their money elsewhere. But if you decide to sweat it out, the company's strong jewelry business should ultimately inspire a comeback.

Wow, what a falling knife! Anyone still following this? Is it worth some speculative dollars to start a position? Maybe about $4.60? Don't care about the technicals right now, just like to bottom fish if there's a really big one down there.  :-\

I wouldn't touch it, the market obviously knows something.

Sometimes you just cant trust the fundamentals.

cpne.ob, hsoa, etc.   They have great PEs, but the cash can only come in for so long.  JADE, I suppose has a more legit business, but I feel like you just have to trust the market here.  Dropping about 2/3 of value...hard to imagine it'll come back much.  Unless you're playing for a bounce or something..
