Zacks said bullish things about NVTL:

«Our Bull of the Day recommendation is for Novatel Wireless (Nasdaq: NVTL). Recently, the company provided encouraging revised financial estimates for its upcoming second quarter 2007. Effective diversification into the multi-pronged 3G market, with innovative product introductions, fostered record breaking revenue and net income over the past quarter. We believe long-term growth prospects remain firm as telecom carriers increasingly deploy high-speed 3G wireless data networks.»

But failed to have a positive effect on the stock, which continues to consolidate recent gains. The general market also didn't help. I expect NVTL to raise guidance again or to beat its internal estimates when it reports Q2 2007. I have 68% revenue CAGR on my valuation model, but at least in 2007, revenues are growing a lot faster, for example, in Q1 2007 revenue growth from Q1 2006 was 172%.

I'll keep holding NVTL.

New all time closing high for NVTL. Just let the profits run.

NVTL seems to be waiting for the ascending trendline or the 50 days SMA to catch up before a new bull leg unfolds. I'll keep holding NVTL.

Skyrocketing Novatel Still a Buy
Tuesday June 19, 10:46 am ET
By Zacks Equity Research

Though Novatel Wireless (NasdaqGM: NVTL - News) shares have appreciated rapidly thus far in 2007, Zacks senior telecom analyst David Weissman, CFA is keeping his Buy recommendation on the stock. Here's why:

Novatel Wireless, a leading provider of wireless data access cards and embedded solutions, continues to perform exceptionally well, supported by continued sales of technology that facilitates access to wireless data networks. The gradual adoption of 3G technologies throughout the world is generating torrid demand for Novatel\'s ExpressCard product line, targeting EV-DO Revision A and HSDPA networks. Recently, the company provided encouraging revised financial estimates for its upcoming second quarter 2007. Effective diversification into the multi-pronged 3G market, with innovative product introductions, fostered record breaking revenue and net income over the past quarter. We believe long-term growth prospects remain firm, as telecom carriers increasingly deploy high-speed 3G wireless data networks. We reiterate our Buy rating and raise our valuation target for the company based on improved visibility. With Novatel\'s next-generation products now well entrenched in the market, we believe the company may continue to generate increased revenue, with improved margins. Therefore, we believe the current valuation of the stock is still below its valuation potential. We raise our six-month target price to $26, based on a net of cash P/E [price-to-earnings] multiple of 21.7x our fiscal 2007 earnings estimate plus its net cash balance of $2.98/share.

cheers
Oliver

The market went down and NVTL rose 2.06%. Relative strength continues. I'll continue holding NVTL.

The strongest stock in the portfolio. They do deliver products to the market at a decent profit margin, considering the nature of their hi-tech business. In the case of NVTL we do not have to wait for them to unfold a strategy or else conquer new markets - they are already there executing. We need more picks like this one!

Novatel Wireless Appoints New Member to Board of Directors
Tuesday , June 26, 2007 08:30ET

SAN DIEGO, Jun 26, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVTL), a leading provider of wireless broadband access solutions, today announced the appointment of John Ross to the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Ross joins the Novatel Wireless Board of Directors with 15 years experience in developing profitable businesses at some of America's largest telecommunications companies.

Mr. Ross is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Media Connex, Inc., a San Diego based company that provides bundled services and equipment for wireless networks, network security, advanced diagnostics, and other IT services and solutions.

Mr. Ross' extensive business and technology background includes leadership positions at major telecommunications companies, including Motorola from 1995 until 2000, at U.S. Robotics prior to its acquisition of Palm, Inc. in 1995, and at Littelfuse, Inc. At Motorola, Mr. Ross was responsible for numerous breakthrough industry initiatives including development and deployment of CDMA StarTACs, the first clamshell mobile phone, which set several technical standards for future mainstream cellular equipment and in 2005 was listed as #6 on The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years in PC World. He also held leadership roles in Motorola's Japan CDMA infrastructure deployment. Mr. Ross also held several key positions at Novatel Wireless, including heading Strategic Business Development, before founding Media Connex.

Mr. Ross holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of management at Northwestern University and is a magna cum laude graduate of Washington University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

"We're thrilled to gain the industry and marketing expertise John brings to our Board as we continue to build our organization and bring new perspectives to the company," said Peter Leparulo, Executive Chairman of the Novatel Wireless Board of Directors. "John has a proven record of success in the wireless industry, and we look forward to his leadership and expertise in guiding the Novatel Wireless team to an even greater global presence in our industry."

"Novatel Wireless is an industry leader, and it is an honor to join this strong and dedicated team," said Mr. Ross. "I look forward to contributing to future successes at the company and to working with the Novatel team in expanding its leadership position."

Novatel Wireless also announced today that it has been added to the small-cap Russell 2000 Index when the Russell Investment Group recently reconstituted its family of U.S. indexes on June 24. Membership in the broad-market Russell 3000, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the large-cap Russell 1000 or small-cap Russell 2000 as well as the appropriate growth and style indexes. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market capitalization rankings and style attributes.
Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. More than $2.5 trillion in assets currently are benchmarked to them. Investment managers who oversee these funds purchase shares of member stocks according to that company's weighting in the particular index. Annual reconstitution of Russell indexes captures the 3,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization to create the Russell 3000. The largest 1,000 companies in the ranking comprise the Russell 1000 while the remaining 2,000 companies become the widely used Russell 2000. These investment tools originated from Russell's multi-manager investment business in the early 1980s when the company saw the need for a more objective, market-driven set of benchmarks in order to evaluate outside investment managers.

Thanks for posting the news la-onda. In respect to the rise in the short interest, well, many people don't seem to accept well a stock that goes up the way NVTL did. They tend to fight it.

I admit that there may be a small correction but I see higher prices over the medium term, as fundamentals continue to improve.

David Randolph

Another record close for NVTL. This is nice, I'll just keep letting the profits run, wondering when will they raise guidance again, or by how much will they beat the guidance they gave for the second quarter.

David Randolph

NVTL raised guidance for the 2nd quarter, but still not for the full year. That is another good news to expect in the near future. Moreover I expect NVTL to beat its own guidance when it reports Q2 results (it has been that way over the past two quarters).

As I look to my valuation model, I see the stock is delivering numbers above my expectations, so definitely still undervalued in my view.

I'll continue holding NVTL.

berloga

NVTL has broken the agressive uptrend support. Is it due for another 10-15% correction before the next run up? Looks like a lot of stop limit orders are executing thus collecting the profits. Should we hold until the earnings no matter what?

I regret selling at $20.  Hopefully I can re-enter this gem.
