Another interesting development per the 2Q 2008 CC last week;

HONEYWELL and SOYO PRODUCTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO 60,000 HONEYWELL US EMPLOYEES!!

They mentioned in the CC that next month all Honeywell and even SOYO products will be available online to the 60,000 US Honeywell employess.

This is huge IMO. It shows that Honeywell is a strong SOYO supporter and not just a distant business partner. Honeywell employees are strong financially with incomes averaging $88K/year according to monster com. I can easily see Honeywell engineers and other tech people falling in love with the Secura drives and LCD monitors. The Bluetooth products will probably be hot sellers.

I am sure it is difficult to estimate how much revenues this will bring in. This could be a dark horse for significant revenue growth and a significant addition to the bottom line.

The timing is great...right before the holidays. The Honeywell and SOYO consumer electronic products could become a frequent water cooler conversation topic.

J&R is already advertising the new SOYO-made Honeywell Arius LCD monitors in the New York Times and online

They are advertising the 19" at $199!!

The Honeywell LCD monitors have great picture stereo speakers and a built-in webcam

J&R has a huge store in Manhattan where most of the Wall Street types do their shopping for electronic gadgets

Looks like the SOYO PR campaign will start after Labor Day.  This might be the last week to be able to buy SOYO under $1.0

This is what Craig Bird of Segue Ventures told investors in SOYO's Investors Group Website in response to the lack of news while apparently the company had been making significant progress in several fronts...new chains offering its products like Staples, Costc, J&R, The Brick, etc....financing....Honeywell deployment, etc.:

..."Finally, let me offer to you the well known cyclical nature of investing, which is, investing slows down considerably during the summer months.  Let me just say that after Labor Day, when almost everyone is back from their vacation and schools are in session, SOYO will be more visible in the investment and public relations community. "

...."It is my belief that press releases and other investment communications media will have a greater positive impact on SOYO's market valuations September through November than during the vacation summer months of July and August..."

Coincidentally, SOYO went from 50c to $1.8 last year from September to November. This time, however, SOYO is lot stronger fundamentally than last year.

SOYO $ 0.68 EXPECTS EXPONENTIAL GROWTH IN THE 2nd HALF OF 2008 and 2009 PER 8/27/08  UPDATED GUIDANCE:

HIGHLIGHTS:

- on 8/27/08 SOYO guided for a VERY strong 2nd half of 2008 with revenue ranging from $80M to $95M. This compares to a $110M revenue in 2007 and 58M in 2006. Total 2008 revenue is expected to range from $135M to $150M.  The current fully diluted market cap is $35M.

- SOYO expects to net 5 - 6c/share for the second half of 2008 or 6 - 7c/share for FY 2008.

-  3Q and 4Q net income will be significantly higher than 1Q and 2Q despite the high transportation costs that have reduced first half net income from 3c/share to 1/c/share because of the deployment of the high-margin Honeywell HDTVs.

- The 3Q and 4Q net income estimate of 5 -6c/share might actually be conservative because the company has applied a surcharge to the record 2Q's transportation costs to estimate 3Q and 4Q transportation costs. However, since the start of 2Q crude oil, gasoline, and diesel prices have come down and they may continue to do so once the hurricane season is over.

- The expected ramp up in 2nd half revenues is due to an accelerated growth for SOYO products as well as the deployment of the company's "top tier" or Honeywell line of LCD and plasma HDTVs with sizes up to 82" and a 120,000:1 contrast ratio...the highest in the indusrty

- The company expects 2009 revenue and profit growth in line with historical trends. SOYO has grown revenues at over 30% Y/Y and net income at triple digit rates the last 3 years.

- The company increased the number of stores where it will sell its SOYO and Honeywell products by over 300% to over 3000 stores since the last quarter. In Canada alone it has agreements with WalMart Canada, Staples, Costco, Office Depot, Canadian Tire, The brick, etc. In the US it has Office Max, J&R, DataVision, CompUSA, Microcenter, Rex TV, and many others.

- SOYO will launch its new top-tier line of Honeywell HDTVs after Labor Day. The first units will arrive to customers next week.  The company expects to announce which big box retailers will carry Honeywell HDTVs, LCD monitors, portable storage, and Bluetooth products.

- SOYO announced that has inked a deal whereby it will sell its Honeywell and SOYO products to the 60,000 US-based Honeywell employees through a new Honeywell's internal website that will be available in September, 2008.

- The company announced in the recent 2Q 2008 CC that t it has received bank approval for a $40M loan pending some conditions that the company is working to fulfill ASAP. With the new financing, SOYO will grow from a $140M/year revenue company to a $300M - $400M/year company paving the way to become the next LCD TV giant.

- SOYO insiders own 0ber 50% of the company. The CEO and CFO continue to add shares. The CEO and CFO each bought 750,000 shares at $1.25/share in April 2008 while the stock was trading at 75c/share.  To minimize dilution the CEO and CFO each returned 600,000 shares to the company for options granted in 2008.  Early this month, the owner of the $3.5M preferred and also an insider, converted it into 2.75M shares or $1.2/share while the stock was trading under 70c.

HERE ARE SOME EXCERPTS FROM 8/27/08 PRESS RELEASE:

SOYO is starting to move up. Keep an eye on it.

The big rally will start after Labor Day. mark this post

That's great to hear that there are a lot of things going on in the background besides just timely PRs reporting material events.

I like the part about more analyst coverage, and what is in the next two paragraphs:

..."Based on comments made during the Earnings Call and other public sources, it is my belief that there will be more frequent "material" and noteworthy events for SOYO to communicate with investors in the coming months. Such events may include: industry expositions; product roll-outs; investor conferences; fundamental business developments; website updates; product reviews; analyst coverage; marketing events; etc..."

..."What you will not see, nor will I comment on are: private individual investor meetings or correspondence; internal plans, correspondence or recommendations; etc..."

As expected, the Honeywell HDTV roll-out PR campaign is starting after labor Day.

This is today's news after the market closed:

Report says that US is unprepared for switch to all digital in February, 2008....great opportunity for SOYO.

This news should be good for SOYO since it is one of the lowest-priced TV makers in the 20" - 37" range. SOYO's quality is superior in most cases than many of its competitors under $800. The 32" plasma under $500 is a best seller.

U.S. unprepared for digital TV switch demand: report

By Kim Dixon Tue Sep 16, 5:29 PM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. regulators are unprepared for an expected surge in demand for government help from consumers needing to switch their television sets from analog to digital, a government report said on Tuesday.

Congress ordered the switch, to go into effect next February, to free public airwaves for emergency uses, such as for police and fire departments.

Regulators are offering consumers $40 coupons to help pay for converter boxes, but have no plan to manage an anticipated last-minute frenzy of consumer demand, a congressional watchdog group said.

"A spike in demand for converter box coupons is likely as the transition nears," said Mark Goldstein, director of physical infrastructure at the Government Accountability Office (GAO), told a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee.

However, the government "has not developed a plan for managing such a spike."

About 15 percent of U.S. households use only analog TV sets and could be at risk of going black on that date if the coupon program does not operate smoothly, GAO said. Up to 35 percent of households have at least one analog TV.

About 14.2 million households have requested 26.7 million coupons, though about 10 million coupons have been redeemed, according to the Commerce Department unit implementing the switch.

Lost or expired coupons may account for unredeemed coupons, said Meredith Baker, a spokeswoman with the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration said. The coupons expire after 90 days.

The agency is asking Congress for fiscal flexibility to distribute the coupons.

The government will not reissue them because of concerns about waste, fraud and abuse, she said, though they can be transferred to friends or family members, Baker said.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin said that during a test in Wilmington, North Carolina last week, just 1 percent of households called the FCC's help line.

"It appears that the residents of Wilmington were generally aware of the early transition and generally prepared for it," Martin said.

Blacks, Hispanics and the elderly are less likely to redeem the coupons, the GAO report said. For example, just 9 percent of the elderly have requested the coupons, compared with about 13 percent nationally.

Rep. Heather Wilson, a New Mexico Republican, said she is worried about her less well-off constituents.

"A lot of people are going to come home the day after this conversion takes place and they are going to wonder what ... happened to their television," she said. "I think it's about time we got our act together."

Looks like some SOYO shareholders are putting their money where their mouth is. This Yahoo poster bought a 32" plasma today. I guess it is because of the positive reviews on this TV set. In a prior post the buyer mentioned that SOYO provides a 1 year in-home repair warranty. They must be very confident about their TV to make such an unheard off offer.

Again here are the positive customer reviews:

Here is the Yahoo post:

Bikeroni, this is a great deal IMO.

The demand for these units is so great that Rex TV (call them or look at the latest flyer. The 32" is on the 2nd page) already increased its price by $100.

J&R DOES A TREMENDOUS JOB MARKETING SOYO PRODUCTS. THIS WEEK IT'S FEATURING THE 32" PLASMA IN THE 400K CIRCULATION AM NEW YORK. LAST WEEK THEY USED THE NEW YORK TIMES. It's a win-win situation because J&R knows that the 32" plasma TV is very popular due to its 5-star reviews, low price, great quality, and a free 1-year in-home repair warranty. J&R sells a few TVs and more importantly for them, they are able to bundle other products. For SOYO it's also great because heavy advertising and high visibility enhances brand recognition
