Hi David,
Have a general question, not specific to SILC.

I dont see a sectoral split / allocation in ur portflio. Do you also try to identify certain sectors which will be expected to perform well in the next 3-6 months?

For example, if you expect energy will be hot over the next 3-6 months, do you try to allocate say 30% of your portfolio towards that sector?
Nick

Yes, that's what I have said before, 3SOF missed out on the energy and material boom also on
the Germany and Singapore run up. But I guess if you are long term 3 years your outlook is different..

No, I'm applying a specific, stock by stock approach. If you consider my valuation model you see that the 4th estimate, the EPS multiple estimate, always compares the individual company with its industry average.

If that sector is hot, or in high demand in the market at that particular moment in time, that will be reflected in my valuation model by an higher EPS multiple estimate.

The Main Portfolio now is a long only, US traded stocks. Not a macro fund. And it is up 17.5% year to date. Even though this isn't spectacular, there aren't many funds outthere that have achieved this.

SILC started well today, but couldn't hold the early morning gains. Nothing changed from a fundamental standpoint. I'll keep holding SILC.

David Randolph

SILC rose a bit over the late day trading yesterday. We've already seen that the recent decline was due to the selling of 663,000 shares by Bjurman, Barry & Associates, but that doesn't mean they know more than we do about SILC, since their micro-cap fund is up 5.08% year to date while the Main Portfolio is returning 18.4%.

I'll keep holding SILC.

David Randolph

SILC is back to where it was a week ago. Nothing new from a fundamental standpoint. People selling now know that they're selling shares cheap, but they can't avoid it anyway. When the next positive press release comes out they'll buy again, but probably they'll pay a higher price.

I'll keep holding SILC.

Nothing new on SILC today, the stock is drifting lower on low volume. Fundamentally, SILC had 12 consecutive quarters of growing revenues, are you going to fight this trend?

If revenue continues to grow, and net profit margin expands a bit, SILC will naturally earn more than $1 per share this year. The Networking & Communication devices industry trades at 27 times earnings, so at least $27 price per share by the end of the year, no?

Longer term expect much more, we're at the early stages of the WAN optimization market growth.

I'll keep holding SILC despite the short term technical weakness.

Maybe get a bottom in SILC tomorrow. Will try to get back in around $18.60. SILC should start moving back up about a month before earnings come out.

Let's read the "giant" press release again:

• Giant Telecom Equipment Manufacturer Chooses Silicom Multi-Port Adapters for Its Security Appliances
Business Wire (Mon, May 14)

I especially like the following part:

«"We believe this Design Win, into which we have already delivered production products, will lead to additional orders on an ongoing basis. Just as important, it demonstrates market need for our high-performance multiport product lines - especially our 6-port models - and their potential, along with our BYPASS products, as a strong revenue driver in the years ahead."»

Still no analysts covering the stock.

Technically SILC doesn't seem willing to go much further down. It showed a bit of relative strength today.

I'll keep holding SILC.

Are you sure that's a new report Garoh? I don't see anything new at www.sec.gov for SILC.

Your post says Approximate date of sale: 6/6/2007

Anyway, who owns the shares doesn't change the value of the company.

Thanks Garoh!
