IMMR fell a bit yesterday. I know why I own the stock, I know its potential, but I'm also aware that it will take time for expectations to turn into real revenues and profits. It will take time for Nokia and others to put the VibeTonz technology in their mobile phones and then sell them.

I'll patiently keep holding IMMR for the long term.

Thanks for the analysis soxguy :)

Anyone looking at IMMR's price to sales or price to earnings ratio won't understand the company's valuation. It's all about the future and the 600 patents the company owns.

As we look into the future and the revenue potential of the license agreements the company already signed (not counting on future possibilities), the stock looks deeply undervalued.

But it will require a lot of patience. I'll be patient and will keep holding IMMR.

IMMR is currently the biggest loser in the Main Portfolio, with a 29% loss. I think this happened because of a poor timing, not me being wrong about the long term fundamentals of the company.

I'll keep holding IMMR for the long term.

No news out and no technical developments for IMMR today. I'll keep holding this one for the long term.

Hi Guitarman,
Thanks for sharing, nice article ;)

Just a quick chart update for IMMR:
Not much price developments from the past few sessions... IMMR is trading tight between two technical lines, the ascending support line and the descending resistance, a «little» bellow there is also the ema-200. The current price range was the place of a consolidation during June; I would say there is not much downside potential at this point, and an upside breakout would probably generate a buying spree.

Hold IMMR

Chart Update:
IMMR had to choose and made a choice: upside breakout ;)
What a nice move, especially because the market was not helping… Volume increased, but remains low, which is not necessarily a bad sign on this chart at this point. IMMR closed the session near the ema-50 which is the first resistance level. A throwback to the breakpoint would be unpleasant but completely normal for consolidation effects.

Portfolio Instructions:
Hold IMMR

Chart update:
Too bad that after yesterday's breakout we had to watch such a terrible session on the broad market... Even so IMMR manage to trade inside the previous candle and the breakout level.

Hold IMMR

Chart update:
IMMR is looking great after the recent breakout, yesterday's close was very positive in technical terms, closing above the EMA-50 and showing a lot of strength.

David Randolph

Hi Guitarman, that's really a great article on Immersion, thank you :)

I agree with everything said in the article (also got some new information, like the 3M agreement in the making), except the following:

Quoteand a host of other opportunities that could catapult this company from a $30 million in revenue company with a $392 million market capitalization to a $300 million in revenue company boasting a market cap of over $1 billion... by 2010.

Because IMMR has a patents/royalties based business model, I see net profit margin at around 50%, so if the company achieves $300 M in revenue it will then have net income at about $150 M. If the stock were to trade at 20 times earnings it would then be a $3 B market cap company, not just over $1 B.

But the article fully explains IMMR's technology and its long term potential.

I'll keep holding IMMR for the long term.

David Randolph

We don't have any new technical or fundamental information for IMMR. I'll keep holding the stock.

David Randolph

Again, nothing new on IMMR, I'll patiently keep holding.

There was an SEC report filed on Friday saying Mazama Capital Management Inc. owns 2,071,623 IMMR shares.

IMMR is not about the past or the present, but the future. There were 270 million mobile phones sold in the World in the 2nd quarter, so everything is on track for the market to surpass 1 billion units in 2007, with Nokia selling about 40% of that.

Since IMMR signed a licensing agreement with Nokia to provide its VibeTonz technology to Nokia, potentially 400 million mobile phones sold in 2009 will be using IMMR's technology that lets us feel like the touch of a bottom when we touch the screen.

Using previous agreements I figure that IMMR will earn about 1%, on average, for every unit sold, and that means about $1 per mobile phone. $400 M in revenue will mean no less than $200 M in profits and that will mean no less than a $3 B market cap company. Currently IMMR's market cap is $397 M.

I'll hold IMMR for the long term.

David Randolph

I'm losing 30% on IMMR now, but I feel more confident about its business model and prospects than when I initially bought the stock. Sometimes it is better to wait for a pullback, on other times it is better to buy the stock right away, when the fundamental story is attractive.

Let's just say that my timing on buying IMMR was awful, but the long term fundamental story is even more powerful than initially thought, so my hands are as strong as they can be, even though the market currently disagrees with my long term view ... or else the market is just consolidating the huge gains the stock had in 2007, before it continues its march up.

I'll continue holding IMMR.
