This stock is way cheap and will run hard for long time to come...
JMHO of course... NTRZ Is in my portfolio for the long term.
Excellent story and beautiful chart.... ;)
The ratios look good and with increased prices, will likely head this stock higher.
The time is now for NutraCea. They can sell all that they produce, but they cannot yet produce all that they can sell. 2007 will be a growth year for production capacity, with a direct follow-through in revenue growth and capital resources development. Few other companies can back up a output/revenue model with high-gain achievable output projections like NTRZ. Now is not the time to sell, but, to hold, or build any position.

Technical analysis adds timing context to fundamentals.......
Leo Lyden of Financial Focus Advisory Services in Pembroke, Mass. says that fundamentals tell investors what stocks to buy, but that technical analysis says when to buy those quality stocks. In a radio interview. Lyden said that layering the two forms of analysis - and being disciplined in setting target prices and stop-loss levels - helps an investor improve the efficiency of their stock-picking, while cutting down on a portfolio's risk.

Keep it simple !!

snowcat

The drop was due to lower than expected earnings.....three deals thought to be included in the 1Q were not because of various silly delays.  They will instead be included in the 2nd Q.

This has nothing to do with the abilities of the co, just crappy timing.  It happens.

That is why you do not hold through earnings.

FOUS wrote to sell at 5 - and he was right!!!  He the man!

However, I would not hesitate to buy this baby back.

They have $62 mil in cash and 0 debt.

They just bought a pellet making co for their animal food biz.

The potential of this company is massive!  I can see a lot better days down the line.

Current price is $3.75 - I think it will be back to $5 soon.

Or my name isn't Snowcat!

NTRZ: Enters JV with Indonesian Industrialist
Monday , June 25, 2007 09:00ET

By Jay Everitt, [email protected]

NutraCea (NTRZ) announced that it has entered the commercial food ingredient market as well as expanding its humanitarian aid programs in Southeast Asia by forming a joint venture with an Indonesian industrialist affiliated with PT Panganmas Inti Persada, one of the largest wheat milling operations in Southeast Asia.

Under the terms of the agreement, NutraCea and its new partner will each contribute $5 million to a limited liability Company (Joint Entity) and will share equally in the revenues and profits from sales produced by the Joint Entity. In addition, NutraCea will receive a $5 million licensing fee on five year terms, with interest, for use of its proprietary stabilization technology as well as the potential for an additional $5 million on the achievement of certain liquidity events by the Joint Entity. This venture opens the door for NutraCea to manufacture, market, import and distribute its exclusive products in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

As part of the commercialization process and strategic business plan, P.T. Panganmas Inti Persada intends to blend SRB into wheat flour and incorporate the combined product into various cookies, cereals, breads, pastries, noodles, cakes and other wheat-based foods to improve the fiber and nutritional profile of its product lines, while remaining cost competitive with standard flour products.

NutraCea Announces Record Second Quarter and Six Months Financial Results
Tuesday , August 14, 2007 19:26ET

PHOENIX, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ), a leader in stabilized rice bran ("SRB") nutrient research and technology, announced today its financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2007.

Total revenues for the second quarter were approximately $13.0 million, an increase of $8.8 million, or 212% from the second quarter fiscal 2006. For the three months ended June 30, 2007, the Company's net profit was $2 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, compared to a net profit of $399,000, or $0.00 per diluted share, in the same period last year. For the six months ended June 30, 2007, the Company's net profit was $1.8 million, or $0.01 per diluted share compared to a net profit of $166,000, or $0.00 per diluted share for the six months ended June 30, 2006.

Gross margin from product sales in the second quarter was $4.1 million, or 52%, compared to $1.8 million, or 44%, during the second quarter of last year. Gross margin from product sales for the six months was $5.0 million, or 50%, compared to $3.5 million or 44% during the six months of the previous year.

For the six months ended June 30, 2007, consolidated revenues were approximately $15 million, an increase of approximately $7 million, or 89% compared to the comparable six months of the previous year.

Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bradley Edson stated, "NutraCea has delivered a solid quarter of sales growth and new initiatives. During the quarter several new products were launched with our stabilized rice bran as a primary ingredient and we expect more product launches from major food companies going forward and to experience progress in all channels of distribution. We have expanded our production capacity and we intend to continue to do so both domestically and internationally. In the past year we have increased our capacity from less that ten thousand tons annually to over 40,000 with expectations of reaching 80,000 tons during first quarter of 2008. The estimated global demand still far exceeds our current production capacity and we will endeavor to meet that demand as quickly as possible."

Mr. Leo Gingras, COO of NutraCea noted, "Our expansion in the U.S. continues at an aggressive pace with completion of our Mermentau, LA and Arbuckle, CA plants, completion of our expansion at Dillon, MT and the acquisition of assets in Freeport, TX. Construction of our Lake Charles, LA, facility, although delayed by weather, should be completed in the first quarter of 2008. We are particularly pleased that our international expansion plans have taken a large step forward with the formation of our joint venture in Southeast Asia, a region that produces more than ten times as much rice bran as the U.S. and E.U combined. We are also moving ahead on our first European facility and look forward to servicing our customers in the E.U. with local production in 2008.

Edson concluded, "We see diverse markets for stabilized rice bran and have taken appropriate steps to increase demand, develop marketing channels and increase production capacity. We have a proprietary product which has unique nutritional benefits, and, to date, we are the only company that can lay claim to the process that can stabilize rice bran with a shelf life of over one year without diminishing its superior nutrient profile. The balance sheet continues to remain strong with $51.5 million in cash and cash equivalents and no debt. We look forward to successfully capitalizing on the opportunities that lay ahead."

down heavily after earnings:

I start to see some real bargains in this market  and NTRZ is one of them. Yes the result was not outstanding but the strength of the business model and the outlook for the company is as good as when I last bought NTRZ (at the same price as they are trading at today  :o) and the balance sheet is even stronger. I have therefore startet a position here.

Other stocks bought today are FRO, VLO, QXM and STO. The list might be longer during the day if the sell off continues  ;)

A great opportunity for bargain hunting but be selective!!

just fyi, Michael  8)

Michael

Thanks Oliver!

I sold NTRZ again. I guess I have been out of the market for toooo long - a 10% profit in a couple of hours was just to much to resist  ;)

I will buy it again though - probably higher than I sold it (1.59) but in this market it is nice to sit on cash.

For the record: I have also sold FRO.

I have buy orders for both the stocks in the market just in case there will be another buying opportunity   >:D

NTRZ is on sale here under $2  JMHO
Had a nice trade from 1.50 to around 3 earlier this year but have kept readinga nd watching this one.  Sig insider buy at 2.95, almost bought back around 2.5o, but held off, now have started a pos at 1.70.
their Market cap is still high compared to enterprise vaue... but look, almost no debt, increasing production capacity, more demand than they can fill,
insiders are supporting  http://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/1063537.htm
there seems to be a negetive golden X about to happen and if we see the low $1's I will buy some more
I believe in a year, especially 2 years we will look back and see what a bargain this is here under $2
Keep up the great posts, Michael, setravis and everyone

Hi Joet,

I like to keep my promises and one was to buy back Nutracea if I got a second chance. Well I did today  :)

I am a little better prepared this time having listened to the CC and even though the quarter was disappointing I believe Nutracea has the potential to become one of the best investments that I have ever made so this time I will sit tight on my stocks  ;D

I am going on a Safari to Maracuene River this weekend to go canoeing. There is nothing like being on a silent flowing river in the sunset thinking about the next stock that will secure my retirement on a small island in the indian ocean  ;D

This picture is from a previous trip and I have to say that I am going a bit further down the river (in the salty part). Crocs do In theory not like salty water even though I understand that this is an issue that is still being discussed in intellectual circles.

Well I am just a simple investor trying to find value in the murky waters of Wall Street. I think I have found it in Nutracea. As long as all Nutracea's plants are in US the company will have some seasonality and it seems like the investors are not looking beyond the most recent quarter.

4th quarter will be outstanding and will result in a PE that even David would find attractive. The PE is already in the fifties. That is really cheap for a company which biggest headache is how to meet the demand and who has a 50% gross margin. When they start to roll-out plants in Asia the seasonality will diminish and the value will hopefully be clear for everybody

I'm back in NTRZ.OB

Just can't pass up a good bargain!  ;D

My average price is 1.5912...

Does anyone have any suggestion for why this stock have fallen so much lately?

On the yahoo-board an article is mentioned

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtml?xml=/earth/2007/08/29/eababy129.xml

but I can't see that being the cause?

Well - now we'll see what happens.  >:D
Happy trading...

:)

yes I am surprised to see this price still declining
could it be just technical as the 50 is crossing under the 200's? (reverse Golden X?)  I cant imagine that there will be to much bad news with all of the insider buying...
the markets are full of surprises, but i will add more below 1.30 or above 2 (at least in the near future :)  I too plan on holding a "core" position of NTRZ for some time.
(but also need to remember to take profit, I did not on SMTX recently up to 7's and i got in at 1.90, still holing ALL and added at 4 adn 2.20 on the way down... poor trading, hopefully good investing...)
Cheers joe
PS Michael, i also still hold PCYG basing nicely
