Lately, I have been concentrating more on SKF and UYG.

I plan to mainly trade just this 2 on my TD Waterhouse account starting tommorow (RRSP account which has been inactive for a while).

Instead of transferring it to TradeFreedom (or somewhere else), I plan to tough out a handicap. (To see which one is more reliable).

TD Waterhouse's fee is 29/trade
After 30 trades (which I think I could easily achieve), it will be 9.99.

On this account, I can not trade pre-market or post market.
I also cannot buy at the bid or sell at the offer.

When I establish an active trader status (150+ trades per quarter), the fee will be $7/trade.
It will also give me access to a platform that I'm familiar with already (similar to TradeFreedom's).

I recently downloaded a TOS (Think or Swim) demo software and still learning how to use it.
So far, I like their charts.

http://www.thinkorswim.com/tos/displayPage.tos;jsessionid=32E6E9612A97858A434685D5338FDC92.tos1_w1c1?webpage=clientApplication&displayFormat=hide

I'm also considering of opening an account with them.

I will be posting a summary of my  trades with TD Waterhouse in here, separate from the trades entered on Fous' message board.

http://**********.net/forum/index.php?topic=937.0

It looks like it's not letting me paste the link.

Anyway, it's called the technicaltrader.net
It is in the ETFC thread.

Lately, I've been posting my trades on both Fous' shoutbox and the Pal Talk chat room.

Starting tommorow, I will be mainly posting it at Pal Talk and post a summary on the message boards (here and Fous').

I will be at the room called: Trading with Skater and Angie.

Here's a link to download the Pal Talk Software (free):

ScotTrade $7.00 per trade. Why don't use it?

Hi mbaugh,

I'm still keeping an eye on CIMT.
It does look like it may go up soon.

With regards to IVAN, I just want to test the strength of the 200ma on different timeframes.

I wanted to test that long time ago.
My reason is, if the 200 moving average is a popular gauge of support and resistance, price must bounce on that somehow - the question is how much. Probably the answer is with the Fibonacci retracement tool which I don't have.

My idea in a simple form is this:

If I have $5,000 as an initial capital.

I would start buying a stock with a "going with momentum strategy", take profits (hopefully), and re-buy on the 200ma of the hourly, daily and weekly timeframes in combination with the horizontal support (that is close to the 200ma of the current timeframe), 1 minute chart, time and sales, and hopefully read the market maker actions on level 2 correctly.

Simple scenario:

price = $5 for first entry with 1000 shares and a stop loss of 10 cents with a reward target of at least 25 cents.

previous week's high =$4.50

weekly 8 ma =$4

hourly 200ma =$3 will be the next buy with the same 1000 shares and 10 cent risk, 25 cent reward ratio.

Daily 200ma =$2 will be the next buy with the same 1000 shares and 10 cent risk, 25 cent reward ratio.

Weekly 200ma =$1 will be the next buy with the same 1000 shares and 10 cent risk, 25 cent reward ratio.

With this project, I agree with you, most of the stocks that are down late in the day, tend to go down further.

I will  keep in mind what you said about the time being wasted on a down stock late in the day.

Maybe, I should wait for a confirmed double bottom or inverse head and shoulders (my favorite patterns) on the 1 minute chart in combination with the 200ma in the different timeframes.
Wait for momentum to come in at the time and sales and enter on a breakout or pullback (after the breakout) to save time.

Tokyopua,

I was reading through my journal from page one and found what we were talking about in the shoutbox.

The difference that I found is, I used a stop loss on that idea.

The most current strategy that I plan to employ is to trade UYG and hedge it with SKF and vice versa SCALING (lot method) in and out of positions.

I will be looking at the weekly, and daily charts but will focus more on the 5 minute chart's channels, and volume to determine my entries and exit.

I will time the entry using the 1 minute chart with time and sale prints.

It's amazing to read how many mistakes I've done in the past.

I'm hoping not to repeat them again.

Best of luck to all of us.  ;)

Started my first accumulation of UYG today on my TD Waterhouse account.

My original target was 28.08  but I ended up getting it at 29.11 and my 28.08 limit order expired for the day.

I'm still in the process of accumulation but was not able to add up on any today.
SKF is looking attractive for me right now coz RSI2 closed below 30 and am hoping it will go to around the 105s tommorow.

There seems to be a lot of signals that indicate a possible breakout of UYG's LTL.
Anything could happen. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

Summary:

UYG
#1 at 29.11, open (so far,up on it).

SKF
#1 at 116.05, open (so far, down on it).

Congrats Ares! UYG had a good day. SKF broke the 105 mark. I love reading your posts. Please do not be a stranger.  :)

Thanks Houlahan,

It's nice to know someone is actually interested in this thread. ;)
Please do not be a stranger too and keep in touch. :)

Yesterday, I placed a limit order on my paper account for UYG at 30.51 and an offer for 31.85 but upped my bid on my real account (not really since I can't buy at the bid at my TD account - it's more of I placed a limit order instead) to 30.55.
I also placed a limit order for SKF at 105.46 at my paper trading account and the real account.
Both were filled.

Summary:

UYG
#1 at 29.11, open
#2 at 30.55, open

SKF
#1 at 116.05, open
#2 at 105.46, open

Still accumulating and filling up my "inventory", hang on active trading will start very soon!  ;)

ps. Volume on UYG moving from red to black recently with Price and Volume up = a bullish sign.

Will we get strong volume if price breaks above the ltl?
(drum roll)
Let's see - after the break (sounding like a TV host of American Idol).  ;D

applaud Ares
Will SKF touch the MA200?
Market liked Citigroup's $5.1 billion loss b/c they thought it could have been worse.
Shorts will be covering, pushing skf down?
And GOOG will help lift the market today.

Ares

Ty Houlahan for the applaud.

So far UYG's 5 minute channel is uptrending, whereas SKF's 5 minute channels is downtrending.

I just placed a limit sell on UYG for 36.88 and a limit buy for SKF at 94.49

It may get filled or not today - we'll see.

I may have to remove this since I'm not sure yet what TOS requires how to post their charts on message boards.

Knowing that the  RSI2 on the daily for SKF is oversold and UYG overbought, I still TRIED to lowball SKF and higball UYG but had a feeling I may not get filled - I didn't.

My limit orders expired for the day.  ;D

We'll see how it goes again on monday.
