May '10 volumes: Sustaining the growth trend
􀂄 Robust growth. For May '10, Bajaj Auto reported sturdy 61.6% yoy volume growth (though 4.5% lower mom), led by robust motorcycle and three-wheeler volumes.

􀂄 Motorcycles continue to impress. Motorcycles posted robust 62.9% yoy volume growth (though 2.6% lower mom), to 268,840 units. The newly-launched Discover-150 sold 12,377 units, chiefly in the four states: Delhi, UP, WB and AP. We see no reason to tone down our 28% US$ revenue CAGR estimate over FY10-12E (albeit we see room for a beat here, as company sees growth pick up in the eCommerce side as compared to the financials services driven growth in FY10)..

Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), today announced that its Business Process Outsourcing division has partnered with Microsoft Corporation to provide global Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) for Microsoft's Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio.

In July 2008, Wipro began providing U.S. Patent and Trademark filing and docketing services to Microsoft's Intellectual Property & Licensing group. Microsoft previously had used a mix of in house resources, outside law firms and offshore vendors to perform these IP services. Moving to Wipro, with its extensive BPO experience, international reach and global delivery capabilities, ensured not only efficiency but also consistency in the way Microsoft does business...

Aluminum production to grow at a CAGR of 21%: Hindalco has low cost smelters of 545,000tpa capacity in the mineral-rich belt of Orissa, UP and Jharkhand. Cost of production ranges from US$1,300/ ton to 1,500/ton; its Hirakud smelter's cost of production is the lowest, as it enjoys the benefit of captive bauxite and coal mines. Post the turnaround of Novelis, Hindalco has put greenfield projects on fast track to add 718,000tpa of capacity by the end of FY12. We expect its aluminum production to grow at a CAGR of 21% and its alumina production to grow at a CAGR of 28% over FY10-14...
