Nice move today. Coming off great earnings last quarter and a PE ratio under 9.
Needs to be discovered just like CMT. I know it has low volume but a prized trade
is getting in early and this may be that opportunity.

I am not a pro so do your own DD. IMO it looks good.

The weekly chart shows that the stock has been volatile lately.  I think once it hits around $9, that would be a good entry point for this stock.

marshagogo

Thanks for your response. I appreciate that you took the time to share your
opinion. It is well regarded. ARTW , to me, has a bullish weekly chart with an
engulfing candle and increasing volume. After making highs today and after the
backoff renewed buying came into the close. I think these are all the signs of
good things to come.

I like stocks that have intrinsic value fundamentally. Positive and improving
earnings and revenues, lower PE's , etc etc. BOOM, FORD, CMT fit stocks
I look for. I really liked your IIPI pick. Good stocks making good investments
also requires the right time to sell them. I do struggle with that as much as
anything.

Anyway I am hoping ARTW can do similiar things.  Thanks again.

saffeysite1

If you like fundamentals look also at TLF and OFI.  I own OFI and it's a great company that should have great earnings, just not to noticed at this time, its picking up volume and has moved from 2.50 to 3.20 in the last three weeks.

Another good company that has been beaten down is CVV.  I like the fundamentals of this stock, This is a buy and hold for me.  I know it will move up from this bottom.  Just don't know when, but it will.  I have made more money buying a stock coming off bottom.  It's just the wait as a trader that can kill you.  Thinking "When the hell is this stock going to make its move".  But I wait.

Looks like its worth a watch.
Indicators have turned up, macd is very bullish.
Would like to see more volume.

ARMSTRONG, Iowa, April 8, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Art's-Way Manufacturing Co., Inc. (ARTW, Trade) today (April 8, 2005) released the following results for the fiscal first quarter and three months ended February 28, 2005.

Highlights:
-- Net sales increased $968,000 compared to the same period a year ago.
-- Gross profit increased $621,000 compared to the same period a year
        ago.
-- Net income before tax increases $496,000.
-- Our revolving line of credit agreement was renewed in March 2005 to
extend the due date to March 2006 and increase the available balance
        by one million dollars.
(All figures in thousands of dollars except per share amounts)
                                                   Quarter Ended
                                      February 28, 2005   February 29, 2004
     Net Sales                              $3,592              $2,624
     Gross Profit                            1,255                 634
     Income from Operations                    531                  57
Interest and Other Expense                 12                  33
Income before Income Tax                  520                  24

     Basic Income Per Share (a)              $0.18               $0.01
     Diluted Income Per Share (b)            $0.17               $0.01
     (a) Basic income per share based on the weighted average number of shares
outstanding 1,938,176 for the quarter ended February 28, 2005 and
         2004.
     (b) Diluted income per share based on the weighted average number of
shares outstanding 1,964,784 and 1,958,196 for the quarters ended
         February 28, 2005 and 2004, respectively.

Sales for the quarter ended February 28, 2005 were increased $968,000 compared to the same period in 2004, principally due to the significant increase in Art's-Way branded products. Our new grinder mixers and land planes were two of the product lines showing increases in the first quarter. As a result of increase in sales of Art's-Way branded whole goods, we pushed our production of OEM manufactured blowers into the later part of the first quarter and second quarter. This resulted in a decrease in OEM sales for the first quarter of $533,000. We expect to see OEM sales rebound in the second quarter.

Our gross profit percentage for the first quarter of 2005 was up 10.8%, from 24.1% in fiscal 2004 to 34.9% in fiscal 2005. We saw steel prices starting to rise in the first quarter of 2004, but at that time we were unable to pass the price increase along to our customers. The profit number from the first quarter of 2005 reflects the impact of passing on the price increase experienced throughout 2004. The swing in product mix discussed above also impacted our gross profit. Those issues, coupled with the consolidation of our two manufacturing facilities impacted on our gross profit percentage.

Our net income increased by $319,000 despite the fact that we had to start recognizing income tax expense due to the recognition of all our deferred tax asset in prior periods. We expect to record income tax expense each quarter as we earn profits going forward. While we are recording income tax expense we will not pay out those expenses in cash until we deplete our net operating loss carry forward, which is currently at approximately $3,120,000.

The order backlog as of February 28, 2005 remains strong at $4,104,000 compared to $4,060,000 one year ago.

Art's-Way manufactures and distributes farm machinery niche products including animal feed processing equipment, sugar beet and potato harvesting equipment, edible bean equipment, land maintenance equipment, finished mowing and crop shredding equipment, seed planting equipment. Art's-Way also produces haylage machinery for several original equipment manufacturers (OEM's). Art's-Way also manufactures and distributes truck bodies used in the agricultural, industrial and commercial industries. After market service parts availability is also an important part of the Company's business.

Yes volume is too frustrating low for ARTW. I own some. Not a big amount. Hoping
it may be discovered. It has the numbers.

OFI has a beautiful chart and today I think it broke out with increasing volume.
Nice pick Saffey. I am wondering if I should buy a position tomorrow. It looks good.

TLF seems to be a great performer. Volume is subsiding though as it is getting
higher and I wonder if it is going to consolidate here.

CMT is just going higher and higher and I still see great things ahead. I did sell
1/2 my position in anticipating some kind of pullback. From $5.80 I am due some
kind of cashing in.

saffeysite1

My sentiment on OfI, I think it's good for at least $5.  With some pullbacks here and there, it's displaying the same action as PRLS has.  They're almost identical in behavior.  I actually bought both at the same [email protected], two months ago.

TLF will consolidate.  I think its a strong company and will have strong earnings as they're opening more stores.

marshagogo

quietly ARTW is moving nicely but with low volume.

marshagogo

I love this stock. It is clearly going up because of value. I believe it has a long way to go too. I understand it is a hard day trade stock because of the lack of liquidity but looking for a 1-3 month investment this has turned out well for me.

kslifka

Liking the look of this Chart.

ARTW gapped up a few days ago after earnings profit tripled.  Consolidated a couple of days....now ready to move higher. ;D

kslifka

Love the look of this chart.  Market cap only $35 million.

Up after triple profit on earnings a few days ago.  Consolidated a couple of days and now looking to go up higher ;D
