BEDFORD, Mass., Jul 19, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Spire Corporation (SPIR, Trade) announced today that it has received an order for four SPI-SUN SIMULATOR(TM) 350i photovoltaic module testers from First Solar, LLC of Perrysburg, Ohio. The systems being provided to First Solar will be used to pre-test photovoltaic laminates and perform final module tests under simulated Air Mass 1.5 Global terrestrial conditions. Unique features of the SPI-SUN SIMULATOR 350i, including its upward-facing illumination and low height, make it ideal for incorporation into First Solar's advanced automated module assembly line. Shipment of the SPI-SUN SIMULATOR 350i module testers is expected to begin in mid September 2005.

Roger G. Little, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Spire Corporation, said, "We are pleased that First Solar has returned to Spire for equipment after their exhaustive comparative analysis. First Solar began using Spire's simulator for their CdTe solar module testing last year, and will use the newly procured simulators in their expansion lines. Spire Solar continues to incorporate the latest technical developments to control and monitor process and machine performance. Satisfied users testify to the high quality, durability and cost effectiveness of our equipment."

"We have been very satisfied with the performance of our existing Spire simulator, and felt it was the ideal solution for our additional production lines as we expand our manufacturing capacity," said Alan Henderson, First Solar's Director of Engineering. "Spire's SPI-SUN SIMULATOR 350i has proven to provide the best quality, performance and value of all the simulator equipment in our evaluation," concluded Alan Henderson.

First Solar manufactures solar modules with an advanced thin film semiconductor process that significantly lowers solar electricity costs. First Solar photovoltaic modules are optimized for grid-connected applications and are sold to leading solar project developers for use in commercial solar projects. Here is another thread on SPIR.
It's hard to figure out which one you posted to.

Anyways, it is active in the pre-market  +38.51%

It would be so much better if the search was used ,and one thread kept on a stock.

Ramsburgh I think you need ti re-write some rules...............
Not bitching,it is just better to follow a stock in this manner

setravis, I quite agree with you: I wish people would use the search...it's not hard to find a thread on SPIR!

With 3 different threads we'll loose some good info, and it is a bit frustrating.

This thread is not "another thread on SPIR". It is the ont that was started a while back. Found it using search..... ;)

::)

Happy trading...

setravis

Thank you cumulina.
But this is another thread.I have posted to all.
la-onda has a thread on this ,he made the call and started that thread on June 15th,
this one was started July 19th.But still it would be so much better if we could all talk about the stock on 1 thread.
The only way I see if you need a different thread is if a trader is short selling the stock.
Long thread
Short thread.
Thank you ,Have a nice day.

rocket8

it appears to me that SPIR and ESLR are in the same business.
solar stuff.
am i correct?

the problem i felt with ESLR is that profits seem a ways away though they just raised $90m which is a good sign.

-rocket8 (daniel)

cumulina

You are right, Rocket8...they are both into "solar stuff"  :D

SPIR had some trouble earlier this year, and for a short while was called SPIRE and you could buy the shares between $4-$5...

ESLR manufactures solarpanels, it is an US company, and they have gotten together now with highly sucessful Q in Germany, and are building a new production-plant there w. sub. from the German government - Germany is - together with Japan - furthest ahead in the world with installing solar for electricity production.

I guess I should add that I do not have any SPIR, and yes - I do have ESLR  ;)

Happy trading...

Yup!

I missed it. :-\

And BCON, and DSTI and...and... ::)

Somehow I manage to sell off the good ones, and keep the loosers - and it has been serious for a while.

I sell the good ones - thinking that I'll take some profit - and off to the races they go!

The loosers I keep, thinking that: "surely the stock can't stay this low for much longer?" - But then, when they finally are showing an ugly loss, I sell...thinking that I must stop this loss - and guess what happens?  ;D

Maybe I should do everybody a favor and post wich ones I sell, so you guys can buy!
...And the ones I buy, so you can see wich ones to stay away from... ;) including my buying price, - it has shown to be the all time high on several occations  >:(

::) I'm a slow learner  ::)
Happy trading...

I have just put SPIR out from my watchlist two days before the pop up.
But I´m feeling quiet well woth my other picks (AOB, VPHM, BCON).
any entry point for this one identified including price target?

TIA
O.

It pulled back a little today. I would try to find out its support level and buy it there.
