wrangler,

Wow...you've come a LONG way from  being "new at learning stocks" last August!  Applause.

FLWS (1-800-FLOWERS) was Cramer's other big BOOYAH on Friday night.  It's indicated to gap higher out of this down sloping channel/Ending Diagonal.

The last high was 7.65.  FLWS currently is indicated at BID 7.74-7.75.  It amazes me how a BOOYAH out of Cramer can move these stocks!

::)  ::)  ::)

It's a channel breakout at the open, so FLWS could "Gap and Go," but I'm going to put it on my watch list for a pullback to the breakout.  Friday's high was 7.12.  The top of the channel is about 7.21, so 7.12-7.21 for this week, roughly.

QuoteFLWS (1-800-FLOWERS) was Cramer's other big BOOYAH on Friday night.  It's indicated to gap higher out of this down sloping channel/Ending Diagonal.

The Cramer BOOYAH resulted in a Gap To Crap, at 7.80, then it got only to 7.90 a week later. It's now its back to the channel breakout.

Here's why Cramer liked it, fundamentally" (from April 7, 2006):

Spring is here and Jim Cramer told "Mad Money" viewers Friday that he has a stock that's ready to bloom.

It's time to buy 1-800-Flowers.com (FLWS:Nasdaq - commentary - research - Cramer's Take), he said, even though it sounds like the kind of bad dot-com that would have been a "house of pain" six or seven years ago.

But he said that the stock is ready to break out because it's the "anti-Amazon.com," meaning that "unlike Amazon (AMZN:Nasdaq - commentary - research - Cramer's Take), this company makes massive amounts of money on the Web."

It's a multi-part story, he said, and the first is that the company has a smart model.

It's a one-stop shopping place for all of your gift, candy and floral needs, and half of their orders originate on the Web, he said. Plus, the company has a database with over 20 million customers.

There are some traditional gender stereotypes at work here, Cramer added, referring to the fact that a lot of men need a way to say "I'm sorry," but they don't have a clue what to do. They think flowers might be good, and candy would be good too, so he said that 1-800 Flowers gives them a way to buy all of their apology goods in one spot.

The company has expanded via smart acquisitions, he said, including candy company Fanny May Confections for $80 million.

Thanks to a major court decision, you can also pick up wine along with the chocolate and the flowers to really be forgiven, he said.

Up until now, a lot of states had restrictions on shipping wine across state lines. But the Supreme Court said it's time to do away with these fees, Cramer said.

He believes that these wine sales will be good for growth, and that analysts haven't factored in this new development and subsequent revenue stream.

Hi Melf Elf
Just wanted to make myself more clear on the quote. I've been trading for 2 & 1/2 years but when I first started I just wanted to try and being new at it I bought about five stocks and didn't know about charts and trends,MACD or anything and bought all five at their 52 week highs and held them for one year for a big loss then me and my wife was trying to figure out how this game works and started to test our own way's of doing it and it worked sometimes but didn't work more than worked so I begin to buy books about it and started to search many differant stock trading sites till I came across 3SOF and after watching and learning from this site for a while and seen it wasn't a scam site just out for you're money so I joined and  that is when I really begin to learn and started to learn MACD trading system and that system has begin to work really good for me.
Stock trading is like going to a trade school and you,ve got to put you're time in learning or you're not going to win.

Thanks, wrangler!

I've been looking for a gap fill down to 7.12, but FLWS has been holding so far at 7.15-7.16, so I decided to go ahead at the 7.21.  Now that the stock "knows" that I bought it, it probably will break below 7.15-7.16.

Great!  I'd be interested in knowing how you're using it, if you wouldn't mind sharing it.  You might be interested in a study that I did in on the MACD and histogram in FORD (see that folder, if interested).

Good luck, wrangler!

I first came across MACD reading a book called " Stock Market Strategies that Work "  authors Jake & Elliott Bernstein, then I came across it on Stockchart's learning center and it gave a very good explanation on using it. Tiny URL is link to stockchart's MACD learning I try to use where it states," the most reliable indicator", whenever it is stated and use them to help pick a stock I'm about to buy. I will also use weekly muti-year along with the daily 6 month and both chart's has got to confirm the uptrend before I'll buy. I have no certain time frame for my trades.
Goodluck trading :)

wrangler,

I read a couple of Gerald Appel's books.  He's the originator of the MACD.   The information provided on MACD in your link is very good.  Thanks!

You're welcome
Have a great trading day :)

Splendid,

Basis the weekly chart (see my April 10 post above for that), the high the week before the Cramer BOOYAH "Gap To Crap" channel breakout was 7.12, so yesterday's low and close of 7.13 fills that gap, and it also has us at a re-test of the channel breakout (blue line, seen on the daily chart below, too).  It would be nice to see that hold for a successful re-test of the breakout, and see the stock rally now.

However, we've got some nervousness from weak-handed longs who "Bought The BOOYAH" at 7.80, so we might still have some more downside since they have a paper loss of 8.6% at yesterday's close, and might want to do some more selling.

Basis the daily chart shown below, FLWS closed at 6.99 on Friday, April 7, prior to the BOOYAH gap opening at 7.80 on April 10, so we might go down and fill that gap from 6.99.

Below the 6.99 gap, next support is 6.78 6.90:

1. 6.90 - 50DMA (dotted green line)

2. 6.85 - 200DMA (dotted red line)

3. 6.84 - the low of the April 7 candlestick

4. 6.78 - up trendline off the late February low (black line)

The 50DMA just had a bullish cross above the 200DMA, so that looks good, and looks like 6-78-6.90 "should be" an area of good support if we get more selloff beyond the 6.99 gap fill.

Below that, I'd peg next support at 6.50,  which was the low prior to the channel breakout.

After 6 down days in a row, FLWS put in a low at 7.12, held at the channel re-test, and moved higher.  That looks fine.

It's more bullish here if we don't fill that 6.99 gap, but rather, head back to BOOYAH (7.80) on yesterday's successful re-test of the channel breakout.

Melf Elf

3 things that I like about last week's candlestick:

1. It was a perfect Bullish Doji Star Hammer.  The open and close were identical: 7.20.

2. The low of the Bullish Doji Star Hammer was 7.12.  7.12 was the high of the candlestick before the BOOYAH gap to 7.80.  That gap has been filled.

3. The 7.12 low of the Bullsih Doji Star Hammer was a successful re-test of the 18-MONTH Bullish Falling Wedge breakout.

The 6.99 gap wasn't filled.

Yesterday, FLWS headed back to BOOYAH (7.80), following through on the Bullish Doji Star Hammer. It closed at 7.51, better than 50% into the long black candlestick of two weeks ago.

If FLWS can hold here and close this week out at 7.46 or better, the 3-week pattern will be a Bullish Morning Star, appearing at the successful re-test of the 18-month Bullish Falling Wedge breakout (blue line).

It's only Tuesday morning, so we won't get too excited about that possibility.

:D  ;D...BACK TO BOOYAH...BACK TO BOOYAH.. ;D  >:D
