Is it possible, and is there and advantage to holding both long and short positions at the same time in a stock?

gotta try some PQUE again long @ 10.77, i see some possibility in the chart.  Lets see what shakes

you purchase penny stocks for your compund project?  to note a few, zenx has been on fire the last two days and might have been a no brainer based on news,   wegi might be ready to move, pbls seems to be bouncing of bottoms.  hal and sge are big caps that might get work.  can check out options on thsese.  what do these have in common, work after hurricanes.  maybe there are more, but see potentials in these no?

Cramer pumped pque last night with 2 others based on valuation of the buyout price of a similar company.  PQUE was his #3 choice.   His reasoning was that often stocks in the same field on a buyout go up, only to come down with in a few days.   However, occasionally a buyout price is so LARGE that under valuation of similar companies must be examined.  Apparently the buyout of the "similar company", which I can't think of the ticker symbol now, was a "head scratcher".


BTW, how high can AMEP go.  David pulled out before they had a rig.  This seems to change the equation drramitically.  Agree?  The PR's have been, "we bought a rig"  and "the rig just arrived" and "the rig will be operational in 2-3 weeks.  The next ones I would assume will be, "we'll start drilling this week", followed by "we started drilling today" followed by we produced this many barrels the first week, etc. etc. with all of that in mind, this would appear to be great risk reward territory.

I am upset I missed buying in ZENX yesterday... not sure if its still attractive  WEGI also looks good hmm.. thx

thx oicpecnoc, i knew about the PQUE cramer link but I was just trying some intraday patterns out.  Some worked some didnt.  Interesting thought on AMEP.  I am thinking of buying in..just not sure when.

Just saw the stock picking pque thread.  Sorry for the repeat info on cramerica, but the details of his reasoning were not mentioned, which I still find interesting on a pull back, if it ever comes.  

As for AMEP, I have more than I will ever admit to, and since I watch it pretty closely I will just tell you that when the chair has been pulled on this in the past, it has been darn near impossible to escape on the way down if you want out.  It rises steadily, and it falls quickly.  Very frustrating.  I am hoping the "future prospects" will in the short term will make it a little less volatile, but I am probably dreaming.  If we assume the MMs have any level of control in this one, they seem to enjoy scaring the crap out you more than most, even for a penny stock.  

Well I had to pick up some AMEPl after doing some analysis on it.

I'm thinking AMEP is very set to rock technically and I'm looking for a great close and a strong rise tomorrow(maybe a gap?)

in @ .0355.. which was the high when I bought  now @ .037

8 million on the ask at .37

I swear if they would let this thing run who knows where it could hit, but somebody is determined to see it rise steadily. 

Any thoughts on AVLN.  Still have my original stake from the 3sof pick.  2nd time it has tested todays level recently.  If it doesn't push through, next time it probablly will.  Usually sees its better days in the second half of the year.

well I think we must see a gap up tomorrow with this crazy action.  This baby has been waiting a while.

I was gonna say the gap will start @ .05 but we might hit that before close
