Question...from what I have read you base most decisions on open/close prices and don't trust intraday action for such decisions.  However, you are using the Fibbonacci and trendlines based on the intraday highs and lows rather than open/close...is this just based on your experience?  I assume that you consider these intraday points to be important indicators of support/resistance?

Thanks for your question JKN  :) Yes, I may consider intraday points to be important support/resistance levels, but I don't trust intraday crossovers or intraday technical signals on my analysis. For a technical signal to be validated, it must do so on close. Some analysts even need a 3% runaway from support or resistance levels to consider a technical signal. I just ask for a signal on close.

Considering HQSM.OB, nice move yesterday from support with no news. I will continue holding for the foreseeable future.

Should I smile or be confused? Let the stock price decide.  ::)

I bought at 0.28 with small amount and then with large amount I bought at 0.31.
Today volume is anemic and its scaring me like anything..... Half of the day has gone by and 50,000 shares traded only; then 20% of it is my purchase at the high side.

After 3 minutes of my last purchase, this news hit the stock:

I dont know how they came with $ 1.25 short term target.

Market Advisors Initiates Coverage on HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc.

   Data provided by

SEATTLE, WA, Sep 28, 2005 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc. (HQSM) is pleased to announce Market Advisors has initiated coverage of their company. Market Advisors confirms a positive outlook on HQSM based on its analysis of the Company's projected growth and fundamentals. Market Advisors' price target of $1.25 indicates a strong short-term outlook. The complete, unedited analyst report appears below.

SEPTEMBER 2005

NEWS FLASH: With an overall growth rate of 11 percent a year since 1984, aquaculture has become one of the world's fastest growing food production sectors. This will only intensify as more demand for fish products will occur. As an inexpensive source of highly nutritional animal protein, aquaculture has become an important factor for improving food security, raising nutritional standards and alleviating poverty. Developing countries have led the way by 5 times over developed countries since 1984. Aquaculture is the fastest developing food producing sector in the world today, and the exchange of information on all related subjects is becoming a key issue in the management of this. HQSM seeks to be a leader in the aquaculture marketplace.

Investment Highlights

HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc. is primarily engaged in the harvesting, processing, sales and marketing of farm fed and ocean harvested marine products including Tilapia and shrimp. The Company operates in the environmentally pristine island province of Hainan, located in the South China Sea. HQSM's activities consist of using renewable ocean resources, practicing sustainable aquaculture using nutraceutically enriched foods, conducting fish, and processing the sales of their products. Along with Tilapia and shrimp, HQSM is also active in squid and red snapper which in turn are sold all over the world with the U.S. currently their largest market. The Company has storage capacity of over 3,000 tons and has recently renovated an aquatic products processing plant with capacity of over 200 tons a day in Hainan.

HQ Sustainable recently acquired a nutraceuticals and health products company, which is HACCP certified, and produces products subject to stringent laboratory tests certified by the China Ministry of Health. This plant produces nutraceuticals, which enrich feed used by HQ's cooperative agriculture operations. In addition to operational offices based in Haiku, Hainan, HQ has offices in Montreal, Hong Kong, New York City, Beijing, Shanghai and more recently Seattle. This allows the Company to diversify its sales strategies.

KEY POINTS

Recent trends in global fish production, consumption and trade reflect a fundamental shift in the structure of the supply and demand for fish and seafood commodities. Approximately 40% of the world productions of fish are currently traded internationally. While developed nations like Japan, the US and Europe are regarded as the major markets, both fish consumption and market growth had in fact been higher in the developing Asia. This trend fits in nicely with HQ's business plan and thus the opportunity for accelerated growth over the next few years. Few will argue with the fact that the demand for fish will continue to rise with population growth, increasing incomes and improvement in diets. The decline in the world's fish stock results from over fishing, indiscriminate fishing methods and degradation of coastal and inland ecosystems.

Aquaculture offers developing countries a means to earn foreign exchange through high-value species and a way for poorer communities to maintain a healthy diet and earn an income. We believe HQ is positioned for superior long-term growth, and we have initiated coverage on this issue. The support for our positive outlook lies in two key factors -- assets and people. HQ has the opportunity to emerge as one of the most active players in this industry on both the production and development fronts. HQ is clearly committed to delivering the highest quality product in the market.

I just saw that news too.  I have no idea on the $1.25 either, but it is easily obtainable given the revenue growth (the market cap is less than a year's revenues).  The market is very quite on this stock.  Today you bought heavily.  Yesterday there was extremely low volume and I know I accounted for a substantial portion of it (60K shares).  A bit of news and volume could produce some quick HYRF-like results I think....

BigDogs, What a call you made on buying this share!!!!!!!! Best of luck. I dont have that much green currently....

Volume has picked up. Its now 800K... Share is 20% up now....

First and foremost, thanks to DAVID, who posted the pick for 3 Pennies on Fire........... :)

Thanks do go to David on this one.  He found it - I simply like the fundamentals on the stock.  Rare to find a penny stock that already has big revenues (that are growing) and earnings and a growth plan that actually makes sense and products/a business that even Peter Lynch could love.    ::)

Looks like Friday it closed right at the 50% retracement level.  Now lets see some action!

Volume has increased too. Everything is set for a beautiful white marubozu to unfold. I simply love the fundamentals of this company and some of you told me it has a good product too.

I will continue holding HQSM.OB, whatever happens with the share price.

Another good call.  Applaud.  I have to thank God for those gut feelings I got...taking profits at .35 then picking up more again at the 50% retracement level for a cost basis of $.285 with a nice profit in between!

IMO, i'm seeing several bullish indicators:  MACD cross-over, 50(MA) crossing over the 200(MA), performing technically, break out on above avg volume...then there's the float.  Does the size of the float concern you David?

I'm glad that someone else has noticed the fundamentals on HQSM.OB. They noticed and published a very well constructed research with a $1.25 price target  :o

The research brings up some macroeconomic trends that I wasn't thinking but they are certainly true:

- Global demand for fish is rising and will undoubtedly continue to rise
- Global supply of fish is diminishing at a fast pace, th ocean can't produce enough fish

So aquaculture will be an extremely fast growing industry with increasing pricing power for the long term. HQSM.OB is well positioned in this sector.

I believe we'll have another strong up move today, to new highs above $0.44. I will continue holding this penny stock for the long term, perhaps the stock will move to another exchange in the future, I think it will !

QuoteDoes the size of the float concern you David?

No, it doesn't, but I read the following on the last 10-Q of the company:

«As of June 30, 2005,  there were 100,261,523  shares of the registrant's  common
stock outstanding.»

Now the research says 115,000,000 float. Probably the company issued some more shares in the meantime, I see no problem with that, since the stock is still way undervalued as you can read on the rest of this thread. It is being slowly discovered by analysts and they will perceive value at first glance, as Market Advisors did.

OhadOnFire

David, will you sell when it doubles?

Thanks,
Ohad

This can't be true, at least a trailing P/E of 12 should be warranted. So I'm not thinking about selling HQSM.OB with less than 200% profit.

Think this says it all!!!  :)

As David is short of time, keeping up to all of his promises (of which I think he's doing a great job next to another job!!!), it helps if one reads the whole thread. Lots of the time the answer is in there  ;)

Thanks
Amarens

Ps: Nice move on HQSM again today. Looks like another donation is on the way  ;) Great pick David!

To pull or not to pull (trigger).... AH!

I deliberately overloaded HQSM on the last pullback, anticipating a day just like today. When I saw it was up a third, I immediately pulled the trigger on my extra shares.

To my experience, this is the best way to reduce the pain in volatile pennies -- adding regularly on pullbacks, selling freely on progress. I am similarly overloaded in BRVO, won't hesitate to reduce my holdings to "normal" when the first strong positive action arises.

I don't know whether David agrees with this type of trading -- on a stock that ONLY pulls back it can be disastrous -- but it is my way to hang on, and prosper, in pennies.
If you must smite, post why so I can improve myself.

Well, I think you shouldn't be overloaded in one single stock, period. I have a simple money management rule of fixing a maximum percentage of capital to allocate to a single stock. On the 3 Stocks on Fire Portfolio it is 6.66%. On the 3 Pennies on Fire Portfolio it is 10%.

Diversification is key for long term results, in order for an investor to make profits over the long run, he can't lose much of his equity. Preservation of capital is the first goal of a professional trader.

This isn't just about diversification, it is about controlling risk. You can have 10 different stocks, but if you have 50% of you capital in just one of them, doesn't matter what the fundamentals or your beliefs about the company are, you're taking way too much risk.

Anyway, just the way I view things, I want to trade for the next 20 or 30 years. But I respect other people's views  :)

Thinking of HQSM.OB, the stock pulled back on profit taking. It's always hard for a stock to move a lot forward just because of publicity coming out of a research text. That's treating the market as stupid, like it didn't know the fundamentals.

Anyway, fundamentals are indeed attractive on this one and longer term it will probably continue to push higher. I'm absolutely not concerned with short term developments and I'm not thinking of selling this below $1.
