Hi Scottishtrader ,

looking at the prices from 28. and 29. September the gap is not closed yet. Closingprice as of 28. Sept. was $ 4,14, the LOD the next day was $ 4,43. Yesterday we have been @ 4,40.
So the gap is still there.

True, apologies, my mistake, was a misread.  I did buy on it though and am now looking at red.  That'll learn me  ;)

Still #2 in IBD highest rate stocks under $10, even though many of the #3-10 have changed.

Well, Friday and today's action provided some very nice indications of a trend reversal in effect for HOM.  While things have been short term bearish, as I mentioned before (but got the gap wrong) the crazy action the week before last left a gap that was just begging to be filled, and on Friday, HOM did just that.  In addition, the low confirmed a new ascending trendline, which should hopefully stay in play for the next little while.

Even better, today's action looks like it has given us a morning doji star candlestick pattern (not sure whether it needed to close near the high of the day though), which should inidcate a return to the bullish trend for HOM.  We also saw a nice upturn to today's RSI of of 50 as a result, which could signal positive movement in the near future, and volume was back somewhat after decreasing down days.

All in all, I think HOM now looks very bullish (but perhaps I am being a litlle too bullish  ??? I don't know).  The upside resistance at previous highs is pretty strong, as we saw before, but what we may have is a little ascending triangle in the works, which should eventually break out to the upside, and with HOM primed for very good news, it could happen any time.

If you pulled out of HOM and want to get in, I would say now is a pretty good time.  It may retrace back to this new ascending support line again before breaking out, but I think the crazy drop the other week, which burned a lot of people (including me) should not happen again until we see new highs, much higher.

Just my thoughts....

I'm with you on this one too. Did not sell HOM, exactle for the analysis you gave. Don't expect big jumps back up, but going up following the ascending TL. With yesterday action HOM set a higher bottum from the previous one, which is a positive sign  :) Now we just need a higher top >:D

I've stayed in through the drop off as well.  Hoping that patinece will be rewarded this time.

Hi all, I thought I would post this, as I've been having another look at HOM today, and I am a little concerned - the chart may not be quite as bullish as I said previously, and I just want to make people aware of it.  While I'm still convinced that HOM should do well over coming weeks and months, it appears that it may be at a short term decision point as to which way it wants to go.

After talk about an ascending triangle, it appears that what we actually have is a (a)symmetric triangle which we are coiling into the end of right now.  We have 3 low touches on the ascending trendline and 3 high touches on the descending trendline, and a decision to be made next week.

My concerns arise from the fact that since this triangle started to consolidate, we have a fairly strong negative divergence of the MACD, and also of the RSI, as can be seen.  While we have been pushing on the bounds of the descending trendline, it is definitely something to be aware of.  While we could very easily break to the upside (and in some ways the pullback of MACD and RSI, which are both still positive, gives us more room to play with)  keep a close eye on the ascending trendline, which looks like it will stand between 4.58-4.60 on Monday.  A test of this should be okay, but a break of it would break below the trend of recent breakdowns, and I believe would signal a strong move lower.  Please don't forget that a lot of great stocks with great prospects have broken down recently, and to take the signals when they come.  I, for one, don't want to see another breakdown in HOM.

Here's to hoping it won't happen  ;)

Hi,
Disclosure, no position in HOM

I suggest that the business model has changed here, that it'll need a quarter or two to prove its new model has the same ( or better ) rate of growth compared to its previous.

I think HOM stock price will stall & chop until....

good fortune to all longs

Look out above!!

HOM seems to be breaking out of the symmetric triagle to the upside - lets see where it runs today!

;D ;D ;D

**UPDATE** 3:15pm ET - HOM has just broken all time highs - break over 5.50, just posted 5.60+

This one should keep on going here  :D :D

ScottishTrader

And what a day for HOM as well!!!  Sure is a lot going on today  ;D

We saw a solid symmetrical triangle breakout from HOM, gaining more than 13% on big volume - obviously the chart is moving technically, as the triangle wanted it to happen ;) - I'm just glad the indicators I mentioned in an earlier post were wrong.  Our triangle breakout posts a target of about $6.48, conservatively, or $ 7.50 if you take it from the bottom of the sharp ascending trendline.

On top of that we posted a new high for the millenium of 5.65, and despite an afternoon pullback, HOM pushed on to close strongly.  We also have a bullish crossover of the MACD with its signal line, probably tomorrow. I think this could be the beginning of a very strong move.  Now, I'm not sure if this is in anticipation of another hurricane coming, or whether earnings are coming, but I think HOM is one to sit tight and right for the next little while at least.

Here's to hoping that October finishes like september started  ;D

I'm buying back HOM today. Trendline #1 was not enough but trendline #2 was too much. Yet, the stock found trendline #3 and broke out of a symmetrical triangle formation to new highs.

This decisive move above $5 will make shorts worried and run to cover. This will add further fuel for the uptrend to resume.

HOM was a great find and a great holding, I need it back on the 3 Stocks on Fire Portfolio.

Had I only known this before I sold at a nice profit for the second time.... ;)

I bought it back yesterday. Now that this resistance has been broken to the upside, it should head higher.
There's always a bull market somewhere and I promise to bla bla bla bla........

HOM closed at a new high yesterday, after breaking out of a symmetrical triangle pattern. The technical target of that breakout is $7.14, so I expect this target to be reached in the near future.

The trend is bullish and the trend is your best friend in the markets.

Acting as support we have TL3 with a $0.067 slope, which means it rises $0.067 per trading day. HOM couldn't hold TL2, which was too steep, but TL1 was too flat. It seems it found its rising path on TL3.

So, not quite like VPHM, but still a nice stock to own. I'll continue holding it.

ScottishTrader

HOM's pullback today followed yesterday's peak at new highs.  As can be seen in the 15 min chart (I just discovered these, and hope they will help me with entry and exit points, which I've been getting burned with lately  >:D)

This followed a descending trendline of resistance, indicating a fairly orderly pullback.  This has been met with support at 5.45, and the price was coiling into this descending triangle to the end of the day.  If this support is strong, and HOM breaks out to the upside, all should be good.  I don't want to see HOM fall below this support level, but as a fallback, 5.40 should also provide support.  A move below this and I think we will lose the gains we've made in recent days.

Hope this helps people in planning tomorrows trades, here's the 15 min 5 day chart.  ;D
