The ascending triangle is a bullish formation that usually forms during an uptrend as a continuation pattern. There are instances when ascending triangles form as reversal patterns at the end of a downtrend, but they are typically continuation patterns. Regardless of where they form, ascending triangles are bullish patterns that indicate accumulation.
Because of its shape, the pattern can also be referred to as a right-angle triangle. Two or more equal highs form a horizontal line at the top. Two or more rising troughs form an ascending trend line that converges on the horizontal line as it rises. If both lines were extended right, the ascending trend line could act as the hypotenuse of a right triangle. If a perpendicular line were drawn extending down from the left end of the horizontal line, a right triangle would form.
In contrast to the symmetrical triangle, an ascending triangle has a definitive bullish bias before the actual breakout. The symmetrical triangle is a neutral formation that relies on the impending breakout to dictate the direction of the next move. On the ascending triangle, the horizontal line represents overhead supply that prevents the security from moving past a certain level. It is as if a large sell order has been placed at this level and it is taking a number of weeks or months to execute, thus preventing the price from rising further. Even though the price cannot rise past this level, the reaction lows continue to rise. It is these higher lows that indicate increased buying pressure and give the ascending triangle its bullish bias.

Park City Group Meets Commitment to Shareholders by Improving Its Balance Sheet with Significant Debt Reduction

PARK CITY, UTAH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2005--
Park City Group, Inc. (OTCBB:PKCY) announced that they
have completed a major financial transaction that resulted in a major
improvement in the Company's balance sheet. Approximately two years
ago, the Company made a commitment to its shareholders to aggressively
pursue actions that would improve its balance sheet. During the past
quarters, the Company has reduced expenses, tightly controlled
expenditures and increased revenue generating capabilities with this
goal in mind. The results have been to pay off all debt other than to
the CEO and his affiliates. Senior debt was reduced by $2,000,000 and
lines of credit declined by approximately $451,000 for an approximate
total of $2,451,000. The total interest savings was approximately
$414,000 annually and additionally, current liabilities decreased by
approximately $2,782,000.
These balance sheet improvements were due in part to the
multi-million dollar transaction with IMI/Cannon Solutions, in
addition to expense reductions, increased revenue generation with new
customers and the addition of revenues generated by the consulting
services organization. The improved balance sheet will give the
Company much more financial flexibility to invest in new business
opportunities and allows it to devote more of its budget to building
our consulting organization as well as to make additional investments
in sales and marketing activities.
"We made a commitment to our shareholders to address our balance
sheet issues. Completing the IMI transaction as well as our own
efforts to significantly control costs and increase revenues has
allowed us to reduce our outstanding debt, and eliminate interest
expenses, and is a major milestone achievement in our financial
improvement plan," said Randy Fields, CEO and Chairman of Park City
Group.
The Company has substantially increased revenues generated by its
professional services group. While still continuing to provide
implementation services to the Company's new and existing customers,
the Company entered into a new business opportunity in the financial
services business segment and its successful results has encouraged
the Company to seek more opportunities in industries outside of retail
operations.
"We have completed more than a half million dollars in revenues
from service provided to industry segments outside of our traditional
market of retail," continues Fields. "The new industry consulting
opportunities provides us with new sales and service prospects.
Additionally, our continued focus on our application products and
consulting services in grocery and convenience stores remains very
strong.
"We have one of the largest pipelines of prospective customers the
Company has ever experienced. Being able to more efficiently focus on
the new market channels, providing more consulting services to our
customers and adding new customers has been an additional benefit to
our significant improvement in the Company's financial operation."
