Euro Tech Holdings is a profitable distributor of water treatment and other environmental equipment in Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China (PRC).
The following reasons make CLWT a compelling investment opportunity at this level:

1)CLWT recently aquired Yixi PACT Environmental Technology Co. Ltd. and PACT Asia Pacific Ltd. (collectively known as PACT). PACT has a wide spectrum of customers in China and across the world. Most notably, PACT is currently supplying compact water treatment units under the USAID PROGRAM FOR IRAQ.
2) CLWT has potential for large purchase orders for its compact water treatment systems and sewage treatment plants to assist in Tsunami relief efforts.

3)CLWT is a profitable 1.35 MM float stock with a 20 % annual growth rate. Low float profitable stocks have been soaring in the last year.

4) China exposure: The Chinese economy is the fastest growing largest economy in the world. China is enacting stricter environmental regulations to protect the environment, and CLWT will be a huge benafactor. The Chinese environmental sector could be the next hot China sector similar to the Internet sector: Many Chinese Internet stocks (SINA, NTES PACT) have risen well over 1000%.

5)Valuation: The average Price/Sales ratio of CLWT's sector is 2.45.

If CLWT traded at the sector average Price/sales ratio it would be a $10 stock.

However, the China market gives CLWT much higher growth potential and market size than the "typical" company in the sector. CLWT revenues are growing at 20% per year. Consequently, an even higher Price/Sales ratio is warranted.

6) The 2002 CWLT annual report cites the following factors that will improve CLWT prospects going forward:

-Chinese Industrial Growth:
The Company believes that the continuing growth of industrial activity in particular, and overall business activity in general, in the PRC over the last five years has produced a strong and increasing demand for its products in the PRC.

-Stricter Chinese Environmental Regulations:
The Company further believes that in the near future the need and demand for the products it distributes will grow as a result of increased regulations governing the environment and industrial pollution output, projected growing demands of the PRC's population for clean water and a healthier and safer environment, and the potential for the contamination or depletion of existing clean fresh water sources.

The Company believes that by assembling the products it distributes, it may realize increased gross profit margins and greater revenues and net income than if it remained only a distributor of such products. Similarly, the Company believes that by expanding its regional sales efforts in the PRC, it may realize higher revenues and net income.

7)The 2008 Beijing olympics will be another factor propmting the chinese to clean up the environment.

8) earnings at the end of june, beginning july.

Any one having comments on those points? (they are not all mine)

China Says Water Pollution So Severe that Cities Could Lack Safe Supplies

June 07, 2005 — By Joe McDonald, Associated Press
BEIJING — China's booming economy is driving a rapid rise in water pollution so severe that densely crowded cities could be left without adequate supplies, a Cabinet minister said Tuesday.

"Limited water resources are threatened by pollution, and water safety in cities is facing severe challenges," said Qiu Baoxing, deputy minister of construction.

The unusually blunt warning came after a separate government report last week said Chinese cities are threatened by rising levels of acid rain from industrial pollution.

The reports emphasize the high environmental cost of China's surging economy in a dry, crowded country whose ecology already is strained by the demands of sustaining 1.3 billion inhabitants.

The government has tried in recent years to rein in environmental damage, imposing air- and water-quality standards and restricting logging. But such efforts have had only limited success.

More than 100 of China's 660 cities face "extreme water shortages," Qiu said at a news conference.

Intense demand by booming Chinese industries, farms and sprawling cities -- some of them with more than 10 million people -- has left many areas without adequate water supplies.

China supports 21 percent of the world's population with just 7 percent of its water supplies, Qiu said.

Conflicts over water supplies have led to violent clashes.

In April, scores of people were injured in the eastern province of Zhejiang when police clashed with villagers who occupied an industrial complex that they said ruined their crops by polluting water supplies.

The communist government has tried in recent years to rein in environmental damage, banning the clear-cutting of forests, imposing air-quality standards and forcing paper mills and other heavily polluting industries to close.

Premier Wen Jiabao promised in February to make guaranteeing adequate supplies of clean drinking water a priority in his annual report to China's legislature on government plans for the year.

"This is an urgent matter," Qiu said.

The minister called for local governments to step up enforcement of water quality standards, promote conservation and expand use of alternative sources such as rainwater and recycled sewage.

But he didn't say how Beijing would finance these steps, leaving it unclear how many would be carried out.

Water shortages have been a constant worry for China for centuries. Problems have only worsened in recent decades as the population swelled and largely unregulated factories dumped toxic pollutants into rivers and lakes.

Some 90 percent of China's cities and 75 percent of its lakes suffer from some degree of water pollution, Qiu said.

The government is building a US$60 billion (euro50 billion) network of canals meant to move vast amounts of water from China's wetter south to Beijing and other parts of the arid north.

The government says building the South-North Water Diversion could take 60 years.

China will face growing shortages until 2030, when its population is projected to reach 1.6 billion people, Qiu said.

"According to the U.N. definition, at that time we will belong to countries that lack water," he said.

Hi fellow traders,

I already posted about CLWT on the 'story behind the move' MB. http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=606.0
The stock price and volume is picking up last week. Looks to me as a narrow up going trading channel is forming. What do you guys think about this stock.
Earnings are expected in one of (max) two weeks and expected to be good.
Very hot topic (short on clean water) in a very hot market (china).

I'm in at 3$ since end of may.

I need some advice please.  I've presently got a limit sell in for 4.70.  If it is now up AH over $5 should I change my sell to a market sell and take my chances? Or leave well enough alone?  What do you experienced folks advise me to do (of course I realize all final decisions are mine to live with).

TIA!!!

It's not really any of my business, but why sell? ???

CLWT went up yesterday, further up AH...so why are you willing to sell at 4.70?

If you have to sell something, why not wait and see how high it might go in the first crazy hour ;)

Good luck.

Cheers.
Happy trading...

debating the same thing here. I waited for 2 weeks in the red for this payoff. Something tells me it could gap up nice on Monday as week end investors find this stock on their radar screens. Hard to call at this popint, it is way off its high, but I've seen these things take off big in the afternoon.
Good Luck all and all comments & opinions welcomed.

I guess that since I missed the top, I'll wait and see what happens.
