Good morning !

Some of our members have asked us to put the daily newsletter on a thread at the website too, maybe because they don't have their e-mail accounts at all places and with a post they can read the newsletter from everywhere.

So I'll use this thread to post the daily newsletter.

Good morning !

This weekend I wrote an article explaining why I shouldn't turn bearish on the general market when in fact there are reasons to believe a rally to new highs will occur: A reason NOT to be a Bear

Today I'm getting out of most theme stocks and I'm getting ready to be near full invested again. In today's session I'm just buying back CNXT: My semi pick. Tomorrow I'll be looking to buy 3 new stocks for the 3 Stocks on Fire Portfolio, but I'm still waiting to see what pops up (and looking for stocks with a lot of short interest, since this is going to be a short covering rally), nothing conclusive after today's exploring and filtering.

We've made some changes at our Premium Service:

1) If you log out at the Message Board and visit the links «3 Stocks on Fire» and «3 Pennies on Fire» you'll see that the information provided there is no longer available for non-subscribers.
2) The Members Board was renamed «The Members Corner». We've realized that for now our team can't read and answer all the posts so we don't say we'll do it anymore. This is a fine place for 3 SOF Honours Members to exchange information, stock picks and strategies between themselves. I'll go there when I can to pick some good ideas I know will be available.
3) The Board «S&P500 Daily Analysis» was changed to «Strategic Orientation». I've realized that a daily analysis of the SPY was hard to do and not much useful to stock traders like ourselves. So I will analyze the general market and sectors but in a way to help the management of the 3 Stocks on Fire Portfolio, providing guidelines about the cash, long stocks and short stocks to be used on the portfolio, as well as which sectors to favour or avoid.
4) The Board Knowledge Center was created. This will be used to write articles with strategic information and theories about the stock market. We'll study technical analysis, fundamental analysis, stock market history, market sentiment theories, value investing theories, momentum trading, etc.

Now let me give you the links for today's updates:

Good morning !

As you probably read on this thread: A reason NOT to be a Bear, I'm extremely bullish on the general market at this point, specially on the Nasdaq and specially after the technical confirmation the S&P 500 Index gave yesterday. Although there may be short term profit taking along the way, I think the path is set for higher and higher prices until the end of 2005.

So I want to be close to full invested now and I've picked the next 4 stocks to buy at today's open, as usual, 6.66% of capital:

Buy TRAD now !
Nasdaq strong: buy FSL
Japan near the sky: EWJ
Some salt on the portfolio: TMTA

As for the daily updates, I'm a bit short in time. Yesterday I had a terrible headache (not the first time), and went to the doctor ... there are other reasons beside expecting better performance why I don't watch the intraday quotes: health reasons ! After spending 10 years watching every tick of many stocks and futures, my eyes are tired. At age 29 I had to buy glasses yesterday.

A strategy that puts you away from the computer while the market is open (watching just the opening and closing action) will possibly not only improve your performance, but your quality of life too.

Anyway, I sold HOM yesterday as planned. I think I will hold everything else on the 3 Stocks and 3 Pennies on Fire Portfolios. I'll be making those updates after sending this newsletter, please check the 3 Stocks on Fire and 3 Pennies on Fire Message Boards.

I see it has been almost a month since the last comment here. Market should be in for a pullback but of course we are in the end of month buying spree time for the next few days but next week we may get some pullback if not sooner. I remember many Dec when we got a decent correction so a good consolidation would be welcome as this move has been very steep.

Looks good to me for a good end of year run into Feb or maybe even March with a bit of luck and if they do not stop raising rates too soon.

There seems to be a shift into the big caps so we should see the small caps under perform now. This is normal nearer the end of a rally as the economy slows people look to invest in companies that can still hold up ok with higher interest rates and a slower economy.

David Randolph

I agree with your comment metro, as you can read on the Strategic Orientation Board.

This thread was to be used as an archive for the daily newsletters that we send by e-mail everyday, but Ramsburg probably forgot this. Have you been receiving the daily newsletter metro?

Thanks !
