Hey LL,
I agree with you. Nowadays, bashers  >:D are a common pest on the MB's like Yahoo and Raging Bull. They have a hidden agenda to get the pps down and to create chaos. But I would say the pumpers are guilty as well. You can see the Pump and Dump actions way too often. As you can see, more and more posters become suspicious so they stop exchanging information with other posters (especially newbies).
This MB (3StocksOnFire) is different. I don't see much pumping or bashing. Especially for a new investors/traders this MB is very usefull.  :)
I applaud your work and encourage you to continue sharing your knowledge with all of us.
Your stuff is really great.  ;)

GREAT INFO LL, THANKS.

I think one way we can help is that whenever we notice bashers actively posting in an MB we then should also join the MBs and post the link or quote the link http://www.advancedsmallbusiness.org/positionpaper.htm to remind the unawared of what the basher's intention is.

By the way, I notice that there is a rating under everyone's handle.  What is that?  How do you credit someone to boost their rating?  I think I owe LL a few.

From the Forum Rules:

Now, about some of the Forum features:
-   The «Applaud» and «Smite» features, that you can click when you are reading a post, should be used with the main goal of motivating the post author to continue good post quality. This means, that whenever you read a good post, you should vote «applaud» in order to give the author a good feedback. Every «applaud» will increase the poster Rating in +1 point, which will certainly prove the author that he is doing a nice «job» on our message board, and will encourage him to continue that way. Every «Smite» will decrease the user rating, and you should only use it when the poster is making a silly or bad job on our message board. Note: In order to protect this feature, you are only allowed to vote «applaud» or «smite» once per hour.
-   The Private message feature, could be used whenever you want to send a message to a forum member, you can directly click on the online/offline link and send a message, or you can click on the nickname link and find the message option. This is an easy way of communicating with all the 3Stocks members.

Any questions about this, should be made on our HelpDesk board.

Also, we'll be changing the ratings feature from now on... Right now, we don't allow «newbie's» to vote applauds or smites. To do this, the members need to have at least 50 posts on the board.

LiveLife

Good morning,

I had a relapse of my flu and haven't been able to do any posting (spent the entire weekend in bed again)  >:(  So I will keep it short (I got up to take my antibiotics).

HOM continues to rebound well

After 3 days of nice rebound gains, HOM took two days of loss.  If you are going by the template, you should sell and buy back when more buy indicators are present.

TIII is another stock I am watching for a rebound.

SVA is bouncing off RSI 30 with strong buy indicators

Hi LL,

I applaud you for your ever dedication to this thread.  I believe I owed you a few applause.  Hey, welcome back and hope you feel better.

Thanks rurouni for your comments!

I think the antibiotic is finally kicking in.  :D
Today was first day the doctor would let me go back to work (oh my, I got so much work backed up it's not EVEN funny!!!)  :(

I will pick up where I left off as to swing trading; but as I stated in the begining, this MB thread will evolve as time goes on and try to become more and more effective with stock trading.  With the MB now focused primarily at new swing traders who cannot daytrade, I will focus on stocks and trades that are better geared towards their account restrictions.

I will also make changes to the template so it will be more usable for us.

SVA continues with the rebound from RSI 30 today.

I am continuing to watch TIII for it to rebound.

Also, I am also watching NVAX to see when it may rebound.  If you recall, I took profit as RSI hit 70.

Howdie LL
did you pick up some HOM on this dip?  Looks to me like the dip is over, would you agree?  there is a little fear in me that this monday could be a repeat of last... if so it could test the $3.80 support and that would hurt!
Comments form anyone on HOM  I am holding a mixed position from the high fives and 4.60's...  Using your chart it looks like a hold
happy holidays to all
cheers joe

joet,

I bought SVA after I sold HOM as I saw the RSI approach 30 and rebound.

If you look at the template and RSI, it looks like it may be bottoming and rising.

For those that are holding cash, I would recommend you wait to see more buy indicators.

For those that are holding shares, I would recommend you see what the market open will do.  If it starts to fall, sell and buy back when more buy indicators are present.  If it starts to gain, then hold.

As always, if you have any doubt, SELL and hold cash to minimize your loss.  There are plenty of stocks that are gaining.

Hope I helped.

= update =
I posted a 1 month chart to see if we can see the trend more clearly.

= update =
Well, the 1 month chart really didn't look like it helped, so I changed the RSI (14) to RSI (2) and you can see the rise

Happy Holidays LL
Thanks for the attention on HOM...  i am holding for now... yet i feel it is a toss-up which way the next .50 move will go, i think that i see a few more bullish signs than bears.

What did you do with your SVA today?  Have you looked at IVAN?

Cheers
Joe

Merry Christmas to all.

joet,

Stock trading, even at best (using all the analysis and tools), in my opinion, is still "educated" gambling that can't predict 100% of stock price movements.

When I studied playing the card game Black Jack (21), using most of the techniques gave you a better than average edge, but still did not give you a 100% advantage.

With stock trading, I found that no trader will be able to "predict" 100% of the times the absolute movements of stock prices.  It is my goal and goals of many other traders to have more gains than losses, so that you end up with a net gain on an ongoing basis.

Friday was mixed with SVA and TIII with losses, but with NVAX gaining.  HOM was just about break even with $0.01 loss.

Many have asked the question "What will happen to the stock?"

Using chart trends and technical analysis only gives you future "extrapolation" based on "past performance".  There are factors that will make a stock no longer trendable (an example is what happened to FORD on Friday - one announcement and stock drops 31%!).

Chart trend and TA looks for "repeatable" trends based on past performance of a stock.  There are stocks that trend more "predictably" than others.  For traders to use chart trends and TA effectively, factors must be taken into consideration to "narrow" the stocks down for trades.

As to IVAN, although RSI is below 30, the stock has not hit above 70 for almost a year and I would be cautious and wait for signs of rebounding before I buy.  Like I said, chart trends and TA will only give us a future "extrapolation" of past performance.  I like to swing trade with stocks that have shown "repeatable" past performance.  Of course, you make your most gains from a stock that is rebounding from a good drop.  Hence, stock trading is at best an "educated gambling."

As a newbie swing trader, I am continuing to learn more about stock trading on a daily basis.  It is my ongoing objective to continue to develop the swing trading tool (template) and other swing trading guidelines so that new stock traders have as much of an advantage as possible and make money on an ongoing basis.

I like to compare the template to Black Jack card playing template that tells you how to play based on the presented cards of the dealer.  For new players, this template will keep the card game objective and keep the emotions out of each hand.  I hope the swing trading template will serve the same purpose of keeping stock trading objective and prevent new traders from losing money by making "emotional" trades by often "chasing" stocks up and down.

Take care everyone and wish you and your families the best!
