Finding Stocks at Bottoms

Since the way to make the most profit on a stock is to buy as close to the bottom as possible, does anyone know of a website or stock screening tool that can be used to find stocks just coming off of a short-term bottom?  On most of the stock picking websties that I use, the strong stocks are always in the middle (sometimes top  >:( ) of an uptrend, and I don't always get a good gain (perhaps even a loss), while everyone that got in a month ago when it was at a bottom has a nice gain.  So that's what I'm looking for -- a site that will pick stocks down at that point.

Thanks,
Leaira

Leaira, why don't u try using the 13 - DAY EMA (Exponential Moving Average)... you will find it useful for BIG PROFITS, just by using it you will catch stock near at the bottom & ride that stocks as long as the prices stays above the 13 day EMA with combination of trendlines other indicators like RSI, StochRSI and don't forget to watch the Support, Resistance of course the volume & a lot of stuff.. still with me?  ;) :D ;D Sorry i don't know a website that telling you "THE BOTTOM IS NOW, BUY!!"

Basically, your wake up call is the EMA.. here take a look of some of my example ;)

Moving averages serve as support and resistance zones. A rising MA tends to serve as a floor below prices, and a falling MA serves as a ceiling above them. That's why it pays to buy near a rising MA, and sell short near a falling MA.

Hi Leaira,

In technical analysis, all bottoms are relative and it's hard to buy stocks at some bottoms...There is a great technichal to find stocks at bottoms : Double bottom or Triple bottom...

Absolute tops and bottoms are always difficult to be sure of and trade successfully. I think a good trader will do well to get in 20% from the bottom and  out 20% from the top.Bank that middle 60%  ;D

Sure, it's always nice to get in a run from bottom to top, but the risk you take is far greater then buying just up from the bottom and selling before the top. Some of these reach the 'top' and next thing you know 'that's all she wrote' comes to mind. But using all the information that others have posted here, should atleast keep you on the right track.

You can check www.chartfilter.com,  Have free and pay screening services.  You can look for stocks crossing 5, 50, 200 SMA, selecting also the interval of time for this and the volume ratio ( in the free screener).  I had found this very useful.  I look for stocks that crossed the 5 SMA the last 2 days with good volume.

Good luck!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Note:  Always do your additional research and check this numbers (MA and volumes) with the chart.
Keep it simple !!
