INSM is bouncing nicely after hitting a brick wall resistance at $2.12.

I expect that INSM will start moving up strongly starting tomorrow.

The great ELN news will fuel a biotec rally tomorrow. Plus, the GOOG blues will be over tomorrow. The Nasdaq is oversold and it will bounce hard this week.

Bought in this morning at 2.21 (as per post on 1,000,000 board). Lots of people in my trading group are in this at 2.2 as well... This will bounce in the next few days imo.

I agree. I see $2.4++ easily next week. Once it gains momentum this time INSM will be unstoppable IMO with most of the negativity far behind now.

INSM is making noise in the cancer therapy sector:

Antibodies Are The First Wave Of IGF-1R Antagonists For Cancer Therapy

Main Category: Cancer/Oncology News
Article Date: 07 Mar 2006 - 0:00am (UK)

BARCELONA, Spain - The Business Intelligence firm La Merie S.L. reported today that antibodies are at the forefront of novel cancer therapeutics targeting the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R). Pfizer is leading the field with the fully human IgG2 antibody CP-751,871 under investigation for multiple myeloma and advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Five other companies are closely following with antibody projects. Only six companies are currently visible with small molecule inhibitors targeting the IGF-1R tyrosine kinase which are not always selective for IGF-1R. INSM-18 from Insmed and the University of California San Francisco is a dual inhibitor of IGF-1R and Her2/neu and is the only clinical stage IGF-1R small molecule antagonist (phase I/II in prostate cancer). These results and more were found in a search conducted by La Merie Business Intelligence published in the March 6 issue of R&D Pipeline News, edited by La Merie. The competitor analysis of CB1 antagonists can be acquired at www.pipelinereview.com, La Merie's News Center and Online Store.

IGF-1R

Although the IGF-1 receptor was first cloned in 1986, it was the success of targeted drugs such as trastuzumab and imatinib that tyrosine kinase inhibitors and growth factor receptor blockers became hot targets. Now companies are aggressively pursuing compounds that target IGF-1R. Other reasons for the long delay in bringing compounds against IGF-1R into the clinic may be: 1) the fear that blocking IGF-1R in cancer therapy would also block the insulin receptor and signaling (70 % homology with IGF-1R) and, thus might be diabetogenic; and 2) the expression of IGF-1R in normal tissue throughout the body. Aventis selected an antibody which does not bind to the closely related insulin receptor. However, preclinical data indicate a limited spectrum of tumor cell lines against which the antibody was effective.

While antibodies are exquisitely selective inhibitors of the IGF-1R function by inducing rapid internalization and down regulation of the receptor, small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors suffer from a lack of selectivity because of binding to a well conserved site. In fact, several of the IGF-1R tyrosine kinase inhibitors in development are dual inhibitors, and in general do not lead to internalization and downregulation. Nevertheless, small molecule IGF-1R inhibitors offer the advantage of the ability to control the duration of drug exposure in contrast to long-acting antibodies.

Apart from antibodies and small molecules, there are individual approaches using peptides, proteins or antisense oligonucleotides to antagonize IGF-1R. The latter one has been evaluated as a topical cream to treat patients with psoriasis, but needs further dose optimization.

This is great!

On March 7, the Business Intelligence firm La Merie S.L. reported that antibodies are at the forefront of novel cancer therapeutics targeting the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R).

The report states that INSM along with giant Pfizer are among the leaders in this promising oncology research area. INSM-18 is a dual inhibitor of IGF-1R and Her2/neu and is the only clinical stage IGF-1R small molecule antagonist (phase I/II in prostate cancer).

LAZA (Lazard..the underwriter) is providing strong support today. Every time the shorts push the pps down, LAZA shows up with a huge bid.

The street seems to have liked the fact that INSM netted about $5M more than it was originally estimated. We'll see if that continues tomorrow.

With most os the negativity behind, INSM is starting to move. I believe we are on a path to new 52-week highs with all the great stuff coming up in the next three months......

EMEA application, clinical trial updates, iPlex launch...etc.

terabemo

INSM is inching up a few cents a day. Great entry point. It has not REALLY started to move up yet. But when it does, it will do a GNBT....and will be able to support higher prices.

Those buying GNBT today will become major bagholders. The company will start human trials in late 2006. By the time they develop something the bird flu hype will be long gone....just like SARS.

The scary thing is that GNBT lost $14.4M last quarter and only have $15 in cash left. What do you think it's going to happen??...Another stock sale.....and I don't think anyone would offer more than $2 for those shares. I'd be very careful with GNBT.

INSM has survived a rush of negative publicity lately just for being professional and for providing maximum transparency.

For instance, the announcement yesterday, that there was a "going concern" clause in the last 10-Q, and that it has been quickly addressed by obtaining $42.8M recently, is something that most biotecs don't do. Take GNBT, for instance, if you read their 10-Q, they have the "going concern" clause in every quarter. But they never release that information to the public. They never even release formal earnings PR's. Heck, most biotecs have similar clauses on their 10-Q/K's and never disclose that.

Now you know what happened yesterday, most of the over-reaction was caused by the criminal AP article that did not mentioned a word that INSM already addressed the issue. INSM has been penalized for being up and up with everything.... good or bad.

FYI, INSM has one of the highest Corporate Governance Quotient (CGQ) in the industry. As of March 1, 2006 INSM's CGQ was better than 95.7% of CGQ Universe companies and 86.7% of Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology companies. As a comparison, GNBT's is the lowest (in the low teens).

I can sleep at night holding a bunch of INSM shares because management is doing the right things for the long-term appreciation of my investment in this company.

- INSM WILL LAUNCH IPLEX, ITS FIRST FDA-APPROVED DRUG, IN 2Q 2006.
