I use Ameritrade APEX and it will not allow Pennies outside of the 3 large exchanges to work in the filter formulas.

Where is a real time system that will show any number of formula items such as ie:
4 times volume, Largest % Gainer, Breakout...etc ?

Thank you in advance.  Please post what works for you.  Just wondering how people get in on some of the moves before it is too late.

I have been using OTC Charts and notice most of the picks posted IntraDay are right from the top of their lists.  Think it is delayed though.

I start using Metastock in 1997 And I'm using it right now... For me it's the best Technical Analysis software, but this is my personal opinion, I believe you have lots of other great softwares, and each trader has his favorite like anything else.

I usually search for pennies on the end of the day, but sometimes, when I'm zapping the market I found some intresting intraday entry opportunities... I don't work for it, but it happens... specially when I read EliteG posts on the penny board

Ha ha everyones going penny crazy, and why not if you can make it work for you. Be careful fill the gap as I know Ameritrade does not allow stops on the OTC stocks and with 8 open positions and 90% invested it can be tough. I have a bunch of pennies right now but only with a limited amount of capital invested 1) Because of liquidity and 2) My Money management rules.

I use Medved Quotetracker http://www.quotetracker.com/index_nn.asp Its a great tool. Integrates into your L2 provider straeming quotes / news, intraday charts historical charts, you can set alarms on price breaks / trendline breaks, integrated trading direct to your broker etc etc. AND ITS FREE

Finding Pennies, easy go to http://www.otcbb.com/ in the market statitics section look at the % gainers and vol gainers, find a big mover take a look at the chart, like what you see (big white candles, big fat volume, limited resistance, then buy.

When to sell?  Half on a double, half on a double, not such a bad approach, I have done that but also held on the double as the chart just looks like it wants to keep on going, SFTV for example looks like it will give another white candle to me so I am sitting on my mutiplier there.

That's what I do, its easy I have multiple 100% gainers by just following that simple check.

Interesting reading this thread...good points, and stuff to learn from.

I'm also rather new to pennies, and my problem is also to decide when to sell.

Yesterday I did NOT sell CGHI near it's top, even if it was already 50% over my buying price.
It fell to about +30% by close, and I'm not whining about the 20% it went down - rather wondering if it was stupid to hope for another good day today.
Since it's only a very small part of my shares, I guess I'll hold on and see what happens - also for experience sake
(It's actually so small, that the brokerage fee probably would wipe out profits if I sold half now!) 

About the program Metved Quote Tracker...I just began to use it yesterday, and it's great!

I'm a bit wurried about using the realtime feature, though.
To give my account# and password out to a free program seems like challinging fate a bit.
Is that what you do, aussietrader?
Or do you live with the 15 minutes delay?
Even with the delay it's so great a program that I'll probably pay the monthly/yearly fee to get rid of the ads.

About setting a stop: I tried once, and got burned because it was too tight  and the stock kept rallying without me!
Now I just watch closely, and have a approx. limit of -10%.

I wish we had a feature here in 3sof to put a "flag" on some of the messages. Some are really good, and worth keeping.

After this problem with the server is 100% solved, I will install a new feature, that is the «Topic Bookmark», that way, you can manage some bookmarks inside our board

AmeriTrade said that this is not possible.

Obviously, someone can do it.  Where is this being done ?

Are there any Real Time free penny sites that can sort with volume, % gainers and other criteria ?  Or do I need to pay for a site. 

The free site mentioned above seems great but I do not want to give my account information to a 3rd party.  Wonder if there is another way to do it ?

Quotetracker has been around a long time and the developers Medved have a very strong and good reputation. No one should have any problems using their product. I have been using it a long while now, I integrate it to my Ameritrade account it works securely and perfectly. Yes there is a free version but it has adverts all over it, you pay I tink around $100 per year and get the full version. The product is a downloadable .exe so it resides on your computer not on a website somewhere. Download a version and test it out.
