PALO ALTO, Calif., May 09, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- (HBSC, Trade)-Human Biosystems announces today positive test results affirming its proprietary "HBS" organ preservation solution. On April 5, 2005, the Company reported that its HBS preservation solution compared favorably in lab results against UW and HTK- the current organ preservation solutions on the market. The HBS solution was tested against the UW and HTK solutions using animal kidneys for 36-40 hours, at 4 degree Centigrade (slightly above the freezing point of water). According to a performance rating index developed by the company referred to as "Reperfusion Index" (RPI) grading, a comparison of the tested animal kidneys affirmed the viability of organs stored in the HBS preservation solution.

"The RPI results are now further corroborated by examination of the histopathology samples, where cross-sections of the kidney were prepared and examined microscopically," said Dr. Luis Toledo, Chief Medical Officer for HBS.

"The findings show, for example, that the HTK-solution exhibited relatively larger areas of injury, described in scientific terms as vacuolization as well as tubular necrosis and picnotic nuclei. In contrast, the Company's HBS preservation solution produced smaller zones of injury accompanied by larger areas of normal tissue, and minimal tubular necrosis; in general, relatively better preserved structures were achieved in the comparative testing. This includes the Bowman's capsule and the convoluted tubular structures, all of which are essential to the normal functioning of the kidney," continued Toledo.

"We believe that the results that we have attained to date represent strong validation of our effort to extend the storage times of donor organs. The rat model used in our experiments is very sensitive and may often exhibit damage at 30 hours that is equivalent to damage in other animal models such as the pig, dog or human kidney stored longer than 40 hours. This could explain the damage observed with rat kidneys stored in the UW and HTK solutions for 40 hours, while human kidneys can be stored for up to 36 to 40 hours prior to transplantation in those solutions, and can be tolerated relatively well", said Dr. Fernando Lopez, Senior Research Scientist and transplant surgeon at HBS.

"While we plan to continue our above-freezing tests with this and other animal models, the Company has made a strategic decision to now shift its emphasis to the freezing technology also under development as the primary method to extend storage times for organs," according to company CEO, Harry Masuda.

Masuda went on to say that "We have learned from our research to date and are ready to proceed to the next step, and that is the possibility of highly prolonged preservation of donor organs through freezing. We believe that our freezing technology opens up many possibilities for not only donor organ preservation, but also for all of medical science."

Breaking News: Human BioSystems Further Extends Kidney Preservation Results with Long-Term Survival Data

PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/12/06 -- Human BioSystems (HBS) (OTCBB: HBSC), a developer of preservation platforms for organs and other biomaterials, specializing in the development of proprietary above zero ("HBS-AZ") and below zero ("HBS-BZ") organ and tissue preservation systems and methods for preserving blood platelets, announces long-term survival results utilizing its HBS-AZ solution. This extends the scope of prior results and comparisons with other current leading preservation solutions.

The recent studies included more animals in each group and doubled the post-transplant observation times to 14 days. Dr. Fernando Lopez, Senior Research Scientist and transplant surgeon at HBS, stated, "Using Kaplan-Meier analysis, statistically significant differences were documented between the HBS-AZ solution and both the HTK and the UW solutions, which are the current gold standard preservation solutions in Europe and North America, respectively. Control experiments using the UW and HTK preservation solutions resulted in the survival of animals over the 14 day period of 42% and 0% respectively. In dramatic contrast, 83% of the HBS-AZ treated animals survived 14 days. Such long-term survival data are essential in documenting the efficacy of organ preservation solutions."

HBS research is directed at extending the longevity of donor organs and tissues as well as enhancing their functional performance. Accomplishing these goals promotes more accurate tissue matching with prospective recipients, could lower immune system rejection and enhances transplanted donor organ viability.

HBS has previously achieved several milestones in organ preservation technology. In a July 18th, 2005 press release, HBS announced for the first time that kidneys were successfully preserved utilizing HBS technologies at minus 196 degrees Centigrade for up to a week. After thawing and transplantation, the organs produced urine and had scores of 14 and 15 on the proprietary HBS Reperfusion Index (RPI), a concise measure of the organ's viability.

Subsequent studies involving microscopic examination of preserved organ tissue documented significantly less damage and maintenance of more normal cellular architecture when using HBS-AZ preservation solutions as compared with other commercially available solutions. Further testing using serum creatinine, a biochemical marker of kidney function, as well as preliminary survival data corroborated earlier results comparing the proprietary HBS solution to both the HTK and UW (University of Wisconsin) preservation solutions.

The current results extend prior survival, biochemical and microscopic tissue analysis of the three solutions. According to Dr. Luis Toledo, HBS Chief Medical Officer, "The likely basis for these dramatic differences is due to the diverse cellular support provided by the HBS-AZ solution."

Dr. Toledo also stated "The data analysis of animal survival represents the ultimate standard in preservation research and is supported by previous investigations documenting normal creatinine values (a measure of kidney function) and diminished tissue damage seen microscopically in animals treated with HBS methods and technologies."

Dr. David Winter, President of HBS, noted "These results further substantiate the biological and clinical benefits of the HBS approach to organ preservation. If they are reproduced in humans it will manifest a great step forward as the increased preservation times could allow for more accurate matching of organ donor and recipient, thereby reducing the incidence of organ rejection. This would preserve scarce healthcare dollars and would enhance the quality of life in that patient population. "

Breaking News: Human BioSystems Completes Platelet Testing at Second Independent Laboratory

PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/05/06 -- Human BioSystems ("HBS") (OTCBB: HBSC), a developer of preservation platforms for organs and other biomaterials, specializing in the development of proprietary above zero ("HBS-AZ") and below zero ("HBS-BZ") organ and tissue preservation systems and methods for preserving blood platelets, announced today that it has completed blood platelet testing at a second independent laboratory.

"Under an agreement signed in June 2005, the laboratory has assisted HBS in testing our methods and protocols for extending the shelf life of blood platelets," said Dr. David Winter, President of Human BioSystems.

This second in-vitro study involving the cold storage of human platelets started in January of 2006 was recently completed. Ten subjects were involved and the results were consistent with those of a previous independent study. Both of these studies utilized technology covered by a patent application for which HBS has received a Notice of Allowability.

HBS is now preparing to submit an application to the FDA within the next few months in order to obtain a license for conducting human infusion studies. Favorable test results should position HBS for strategic partnering and licensing of its technology.

Blood platelets are the clotting component of blood and are collected from donors and infused into cancer patients who have undergone chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. Such treatments inhibit the production of platelets for a period of time, possibly resulting in bleeding without regular platelet infusion.

"Currently, platelets have an FDA mandated five day shelf life. It is our goal to extend the shelf life by utilizing the proprietary HBS solution and process to preserve platelets at refrigerated temperatures for at least seven or more days," according to Dr. Winter.

"We believe that when our technology is brought to market it should drastically reduce the outdating of platelets, allowing blood centers to significantly reduce their costs without changing their existing basic procedures. The total worldwide loss due to outdating is estimated by HBS to exceed one billion dollars at the hospital level based on 6 million transfusion units collected annually and an outdate percentage of 15%. Refrigeration should inhibit bacteria growth, resulting in a safer product," added Harry Masuda, CEO of Human BioSystems.

HBS is headquartered in Palo Alto, California with research facilities in Michigan.

Stock on the Move: HBSC Looks to Enter the Bio Energy Field; Signs Letter of Intent to Acquire Ethanol Projects! July 2
NOTE TO EDITORS: The Following Is an Investment Opinion Being Issued by Wall Street Capital Funding.

WESTON, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/28/06 -- Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning are: Human Biosystems (OTCBB: HBSC), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX) and NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA).

Human Biosystems (OTCBB: HBSC) may be a target of aggressive investors and day traders this morning! Yesterday after the stock markets closed, the company, a developer of preservation platforms for organs and other biomaterials, issued a press release announcing that it has signed a letter of intent ("LOI") to acquire two ethanol production facility projects from EXL III Group Corporation, an equity partner in ethanol plant ventures.

News of the letter of intent may be of interest to investors! "We made the decision to enter the bio energy field because it gives HBS the potential to achieve substantial revenue and profit growth within a predictable timetable, and because the opportunity and expertise to pursue the renewable energy market exists with this acquisition," stated Harry Masuda, CEO of Human BioSystems. "This acquisition should give HBS additional financing options not previously available," continued Mr. Masuda.

Wall Street News Alert is placing Aggressive Investors on alert to monitor the progress of Human Biosystems! The acquisition, which is expected to close in the fall of 2006, is subject to certain conditions, including but not limited to completion of satisfactory due diligence by HBS, the negotiation and completion of a definitive acquisition agreement and Consulting Services Agreement, approval of the HBS and EXL III boards of directors and other customary conditions. According to the press release, the LOI provides that HBS will acquire the projects from EXL III Group Corporation for restricted HBS common stock.

HBSC Continues Momentum: Is Granted Its Fourth Patent From the U.S. Patent Office! August 3, 2006
NOTE TO EDITORS: The Following Is an Investment Opinion Being Issued by Wall Street Capital Funding.

WESTON, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/03/06 -- Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning are: Human Biosystems (OTCBB: HBSC), POZEN Incorporated (NASDAQ: POZN), Biovail Corporation (NYSE: BVF) and Nortel (NYSE: NT).

Once again, Human Biosystems (OTCBB: HBSC) may be a target of aggressive investors and day traders this morning! Yesterday after the stock markets closed, the company, a developer of preservation platforms for organs and other biomaterials, issued a press release announcing that it has been granted its fourth patent from the U.S. Patent Office. Patent #7,083,910.

News of the new patent may be of interest to investors! "Preservation of Blood Platelets with Citrate" should greatly contribute in the area of blood platelet preservation for the two major recipient groups of blood platelets: cancer patients that have undergone chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment (about 70%), and trauma patients suffering from extensive bleeding.

Blood platelets are the congealing component in blood. Before platelets can be released to the medical community for use by human patients, they must undergo a number of tests to assure their purity, which can take one to two days to complete. Then they must be transported to the medical facilities which can add more time. Thus, there is a very limited shelf-life left for these platelets once they are available for use.

Current technology provides for the storage of platelets at room temperature. This allows any bacteria present to grow rapidly over the current 5-day allowable shelf period. The extra storage days possible with the use of the HBS cold storage method should provide a dramatic decrease in the cost and the waste that is inherent in the current blood platelet storage methodology. It should also help keep blood platelets more bacteria free.

Wall Street News Alert is continuing to place Aggressive Investors on alert to monitor the progress of Human Biosystems! "Our newest patent covers the process of cooling blood platelets to near zero degrees Centigrade to keep them fresh and preserved for greater than the current standard of 5 days. We anticipate being able to extend this process to 7 days and beyond. This will reduce the current need to discard stored platelets that have been preserved by existing methods. By developing a cooling method that prolongs the preservation of platelets, we believe this will greatly reduce the risk of bacterial infection while increasing the availability of essential medical resources required to treat cancer and trauma patients," explained Dr. David Winter, President of Human BioSystems.

In the past month Human BioSystems has announced the completion of the second independent test of their blood platelet preservation technology and their preparation for application to the FDA for a license to begin human testing.

Prior to the latest press release, the stock closed yesterday at Eighteen cents a share.

Human BioSystems Signs Project Agreement to Assist the Company in Evaluating Potential Partners of Its Preservation Tec

PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/15/06 -- Human BioSystems (OTCBB: HBSC) ("HBS" or "Company") announced today that it has signed an agreement with UTEK Corporation ("UTEK") to assist HBS in identifying and making introductions to potential business partners of the Company's preservation technology, including its above zero and below zero preservation technology for organs and other biomaterials, as well as its blood platelet preservation process.

According to Harry Masuda, CEO of Human BioSystems, "UTEK has contacts that are relevant to HBS technology and we are excited to establish this business relationship to utilize their expertise towards optimizing our process of selecting the right partner for each of our technologies. Partnering has been in our business plan from the beginning and it has been our goal to establish strategic partners who have the distribution channels required to sell our products worldwide."

HBS plans to market its preservation technologies worldwide, including a number of markets in the United States. The diversity of markets available to HBS makes the UTEK Project Agreement an essential step forward toward achieving the Company's goal of leveraging its efforts to bring products to market as quickly as possible. As UTEK helps to identify the appropriate partners for the HBS technologies, the Company can move forward in creating new markets for its preservation technologies.

"When we license a technology, we can segment and limit the license to a particular application, an example being the preservation of donor organs while excluding the application for islet cells. We may also elect to sell components of our technology such as packaged solutions to companies as a "general preservation solution" for research, which may result in commercial sales of our preservation solutions. In other words, licensing will not preclude us from entering non-licensed markets or activities," continued Mr. Masuda.

Human BioSystems is a developer of preservation platforms for organs and other biomaterials. The Company, which is headquartered in Palo Alto, California with research facilities in Michigan, has been granted four patents by the U.S. Patent Office. HBS also announced recently the signing of a letter of intent to enter the BioFuels business through the acquisition of two ethanol production facility projects from EXL III.

I think HBSC is looking like its ready for a buy. Price recently broke its year long down trend and now has broken its short term consoldiation pattern on heavy volume to confirm the breakout. I don't see too much downside from here and the recent volume and breakout suggest a possible reversal. I think i'll hop in tomorrow and see where this takes me  >:D
