1.90 and good volume to start the morning off. Let's go wrangler!! >:D

wrangler

Cann't believe this stock is still going up. Thought some profit takers would have jumped on by now. Will be interesting to see how day ends. Maybe we'll break 2.00 today.
Have you got you're trading plan and ready to go thru with it.
Hope you goodluck with it :)

I am planning my trading plan ;). Just trying to iron it out now. Trying to decide where to set my stop. I expected some profit taking today and it looks like it is coming in now some but it is still holding fairly strong.  I will prob set a stop at yesterdays low or just above that.

wrangler

Looks like profit takers is comming in now.
Might be a good time to look at you're plan to cut loosses in case it doesn't work out good after earnings. You can always hop back on if it's good.
I'm staying with my trading plan

Have updated a chart to show my sell point if it should reach it and my reasons for holding
Goodluck digdug42 with you're trading plan :)

Forgot to mention also that this plan will go into effect after one hour of trading to see if price might go back up after profit takers are done

I was watching it still too. It hit the stop that I had in my mind, but I wanted to wait to see if it would pick back up.  That is a ton of volume that has come in the last few days and I think it can still go too because of that. I want the profit taking to settle down some and then I think my plan is pretty similar to yours. Good luck and thanks for the updates and charts!

wrangler

My shares just got taken out. It was a fun ride. Possibly it might go back up but how can you complain with a gain like that.

Great trading digdug42 applaud
Hope you the best of luck with all you're trades  :)
Hard to predict a stock once they reach close to their 52 week high. I think we did pretty good on this one

Looks like I might have sold to early. That's what I get for selling to early. Are you still holding digdug42. It looks like it might be trying to move back up

You are right, hard to complain when you make a great gain.  Can't get too greedy or there go your profits.  Good trading wrangler and thanks again for the advice. I am fairly new to trading and all of these posts really help someone like me to learn.  I would applaud, but lack the necessary posts to do so. My stop is a little lower so I am still holding, but could be out by the days end. Lets hope not.  Thanks again!

You're welcome digdug42
You have come to the right place to learn 3SOF

Hey wrangler, I know you aren't in the stock now, but how do you view this close?  It didn't hit my stop today and this seems like a normal pull back?  Any thoughts?

wrangler

Will find out more tomorrow since Thursday is earnings report. All in all it really wasn't a bad day for sell off compared to the buyers for the last 8 days. You still have the golden crossover along with MACD still showing an upward trend. I would say the only thing you have to worry about would be the earnings and if it should continue up after that ,,you would be heading for one big ride. You played well today I would continue the same as you did today.
Right now I'm watching another one I'm playing and expect the same from it as VWPT did or better it's FCSE.
Keep you're stop loss in place and be ready to trade you're plan. Any good book you read will alway's tell you to plan you're trade and trade you're plan but alway's try to get maximum gain to. When you gain this much on any stock you will alway's want to use a stop loss to protect you're gain if it get's taken out you can alway's jump back on to ride it some more but if you lose that gain it may take a while to gain it back .
Goodluck trading  :)

Do you use a stop loss or a trailing stop? What are the pros and cons.  Nice pick with FCSE. This one looks good, except I am fully invested right now. ::)  Thanks for the info.

wrangler

One problem I've had with stop loss or trailing stop loss is if you use a stop or trailing stop loss to close M&M's will bring the price down to take out you're order even though stock is heading up. I'm still trying to get a better understanding of the two so I can use them to my advantage. I've used them before just to be taken out before the run was over so now I do it mentally. I try to watch for a pause in the price when it's heading up along with the volume from previous day's and both begin to slow with a pull back of the price that's when I get ready to sell . One thing to remember is after a sell, if the run should continue you can alway's hope back on the train but if you continue to hold you can loss what profit you have made then you must decide to hold to get you're gain back or get you're loss back and maybe loose more. Never be afraid to take profits
One thing I've learned is each investor must have his own set of rule's to trade by when to buy and when to pull the trigger. Mine is still gun shy and usually take profits to early as the run is happening. This is one of my goals for the year is how to get maximum gain from a trade using the MACD buy and sell signals, they are lagging indicators but it does give you a hint when the stock is about to go in a downtrend.
