With Interactive Brokers, you can short I think up to $1 becuase today I shorted GNLB @ 2.3 with ease.

Also, on the NASDAQ you can short stocks under $1

I opened a second trading account at Interactive Brokers one week ago for that very reason - so I can short the under $5 stocks that so often get pumped and overinflated. I haven't made any trades in the account yet. Getting used to the interface, which is not as friendly as Ameritrade's. I will use my IB account primarily for shorting and also if I take a second trading position in stocks I own.

I have an account w IB.. this is my only account... the only complaint is that sometimes the mobile trader is slow and is not as reliable. The account locks up if the webtrader... BUT I LOVE THEIR MAIN PRODUCT.. THE TWS....

TWS is what I use and the orders go thru FAST !!!!!

Is anybody here can short $5 below with their broker? if so, what is your broker?

I have Ameritrade. Any Nasdaq, AMEX , NYSE or listed stock can be shorted if  Ameritrade has the shares available . Otc and pink sheet stocks cannot be shorted.

My broker is Ameritrade too..... they won't allow $5 below

QQQQ hit my target of 37.5 today, so I closed out my puts, 4 days before expiration. 533% profit!

I see nothing that would seem to indicate that the NASDAQ will turn up anytime soon, so I'm thinking more puts for July...
