The rally is kind of irregular, this could be a BULL TRAP... (IMHO) ;)

The rally is irregular, I think i'm right on this one.... THIS IS A BULL TRAP ;)

A good trending stocks is, the 50sma must be on top of the 200sma & 200ema (daily chart) not the other way around ;)

LET'S SHORT AAPL!!! ;)

First of all, I applaud you, Elf and null on your analysis thus far; spot on, gang. Assuming this stock takes a beating on heavy volume tomorrow, how low will it go over the short term? (i.e. until AAPL gets everything reissued). Too early to tell?

nullzero

Im still in AAPL SHORT! Down with AAPL... >:D >:D I think AAPL will drop alot more possibly below 60 under heavy volume if tomorrow pans out as a Friday sell off on the markets.

nullzero

Holy crap the NEWS IS POURING IN!!! AAPL is screwed

"Apple says likely to restate results, delay filing"

"Apple Warns It May Have to Revise Profits Going Back to 2002 Because of Stock Option Trouble"

Thankgod I holding in there! AAPL will probley surely sink below 60 look out below I would cover on AAPL possibly somewhere in the 50s or lower lets see what tomorrow brings us.

nullzero

This is the event that we need for AAPL to make some profit on the short  >:D. Being overbought and having this news come out... good bye AAPL. If market is down tomorrow will be a double hit. AAPL has potential to fall between 40-60 in the next coming days to weeks. Tomorrow I wouldnt be suprised of a gap down in the high 50s.

nutsterrt

It is a beautiful thing, null :) The lower the better  >:D

If you don't mind my asking, what was your entry on this short? I'm 50% @ 68.15, and 50% @ 69.45. The latter I picked up in today's session, as I reasoned at the very least, profit-taking would occur shortly. The fallout is just icing on the cake.

Cheers; see you all around in the morning.

nullzero

I shorted at 63.00s, unfortunately I didnt pick the best entry but that wont matter tomorrow and next week. I should be up 5-30% possibly in the next days and weeks.

I changed plan to hold onto the short. I made the same mistake with HANS a while back i put a 7% loss stop on HANS and shorted HANS at 180 got stopped out... Look where HANS is now :(. Im going to HOLD AAPL for a mid term short based on AAPL being extremely overbought... PE way to high in a market like this. Also for the likelyhood of a decrease in the fundamental outlook. I think AAPL will give in big time with a simply downgrade just like HANS did today. I also think the market is ripe for a nasty fall the next few weeks.

Hey Nullzero, great decision that you staying short on AAPL (applause) ;)

Quoted from the book "The Amazing life of Jesse Livermore"[/color]
The big money is made by "the sitting - not the thinking." Once a position is taken the hardest thing to do is to be patient and wait for the move to play out. The temptation is strong to take fast profit or cover your trade solely out of fear of losing the profit on a correction. This error has cost millions of speculators millions of dollars. Be sure you have a good clear reason to enter a trade and be sure you have a good clear reason to close your position. It is the big swing that makes the big money for you.

Good luck to us!!! ;) ;D

In this bear market it's very hard to make profit if you are playing in the long side;
1) its either the stocks will rally up quick & later on they continue to slide down
2) or you will be trap on fake rally (Bull Trap).

That is why when I trade against the direction of the market, I'm only choosing stocks that are not so risky to play with. When I say "not so risky" the 3 magic lines must be present on the chart & the 3 should or almost come close together even in the weekly chart but the price must close above them, (daily & weekly scale the better & safer).

I did profit & still profiting for playing in the long side in this bloody market just by using those 3 moving averages (LBIX, STEC, and AVCI, recently on DRYS)

When the market turn around & become bullish again a lot of stocks will trend up (duh!!) But.... You will also notice the 3 magic lines (50sma, 200sma, 200ema) will be present there on the bull side.

I would almost say don't pay attention to AAPL today. On this much volume, it'll be all over the place...up fast, down fast. Just hopefully down faster  >:D

nullzero

Yeah all that matters is the volume is probley going to be 3-5 times normal volume and AAPL is going to be down over -3% on high volume. We may have most of next week leading down. Im going to look to cover somewhere in the 50s if AAPL gets there.

joet

Nulz, your enthusiasm is great, aplaud
I to am holding a short position on AAPL and figuring to fill somwhere in the large gap of last week.

I hope that you are correct about the Home builders... I covered yesterday at 29.07 for a profit on that trade, then went short again at 30...  almost hit my stop at 32.26 this AM but i am still in on the short side here (PHM)  do you put stops in on your short positions? at the next resistance level?

I shorted AKAM this AM and am enjoying a ride down there...  wow Short-stocks is nailing them this week...  EBAY long and the numerous short picks, thanx for that site.  Put IDXX on paper this morning short at 90.10

Cheers Joe

nullzero

I put usually 7-10% stop loss when im not watching the stock out from the house or busy doing stuff. If im watching the stock and confident on the bearish outlook I wont put a stop on it. But more volatile trading stocks I will definately have a stop in place. PHM has no reason to go up so I feel if it does things like today to ignore it... DHI did the same kind of thing these spikes are just there to create a wave of shorts covering and panic for shorts.
