I'm not invested but have watched this stock for a while.

The concept is a definate winner.  My dentist is an investor and believes that Invisilign is revolutionlizing dentistry.  Why would anlyone get ugly braces when they can use an invisible system that my dentist says is cheaper.

Plus Ilve seen so many dentists advertising invisilign.  (oddly I've never seen an ad for Orthoclear).

This is a disruptive technology and could be the next Starbucks.

Is it the lawsuit that is holding this stock back?  I don't understand why earnings are negative.   ???

logocovet,

That perception might explain why this stock ran up 1710% from late 2002 to Spring of 2004.  :D

I agree.  Great concept.  Now, what's the right price for the stock?  It obviously wasn't the $23 of two years ago, or the stock wouldn't have gotten whacked to below $6.00, eh?

???  ::)  ???

That 2004 time-frame also was when ALGN reported positive earnings, but then they went back in the red, as you mentioned.  I don't know why.  Last quarter, the estimate was for a loss of three cents; they came in at a penny in the black on January 25..   The stock already had broken out on January 13, and it held up fine on the earnings.

This quarter,  the estimate is for a loss of $0.10 vs. $0.03 in the black, yet the stock is at $9.00 now vs. about $8.50 when the $0.03 was reported this time last year.  They report on April 26, BTW.

Last September, when ALGN was at $7, an analyst at Jeffries had a 2005 year end target of $9, which was achieved on St. Paddy's Day.  He felt that the stock could go higher than that on takeover value, or the possibility that the company could be taken private.  At any rate, he made a good call.

Bottom line for me, as you know, is always the chart.  I like the 3 Bullish Patterns on the daily chart (see charts on Page 1).  I like the 1+ year base on the weekly chart, and the fact that the stock has broken out, and is above the Kumo (Cloud).

If ALGN stays above 8.61, I'll grit my teeth and hold it through earnings (we need a face with clenched teeth on the toolbar).

;D  >:D

Bought ALGN at 8.80 on the pullback toward the Ascending Triangle breakout.

Sold ½ my ALGN at 9.38.  Gain: 6.6%.

ALGN is back to the top of the one-month Ascending Triangle.  Volume isn't strong, and with earnings coming out next week, I decided to make a safety play, and take half off the table.

Volume still isn't great, but ALGN had a technical breakout of the Ascending Triangle this afternoon.

That's so-o irritating...  :(

ALGN currently is BID 9.52..ASK 9.53, and volume is improving  >:D

They reported a loss of $0.08 vs. estimate of a loss of $0.10.  ALGN is up 3.8% so, unless the market changes its mind, it looks like we've survived earnings.  Whew!

The March 17 Ascending Triangle target: 9.63 MADE on April 19.

The DOUBLE target of 10.26 (Bullish Falling Wedge and Ascending Triangle) still is IN PLAY.
