Well SIGA ended up with a black candle. :P

Well see if SIGA stays in the gap above 4.35??

If not the 38% fib retracement is around 3.92ish.

SIGA Announces $9.0 Million Private Placement
Thursday October 19, 8:53 am ET

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SIGA Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIGA - News) announced today that on October 18, 2006 it entered into a Securities Purchase Agreement for the issuance and sale to institutional investors of 2,000,000 shares of the company's common stock at $4.54 per share and warrants to purchase 1,000,000 shares of the company's common stock. The warrants are exercisable at any time and from time to time through and including the seventh anniversary of the closing date at an exercise price equal to 110% of the closing price of the company's common stock on October 18, 2006.

4.54$ should act as a support, in again @ 4.5$  >:D

la-onda

Would appreciate some comments about the fact that this company will issue and sell
2.000.000 shares @ 4,54 and warrants to purchase 1.000.000 shares, therefore
is  that PPS a resistance and investors would wish to buy lower or what's the
experience in these cases ???

TIA

SIGA needs to find support, I still have my remaining 1/2 in.  How about a buyout from a bigger player?

kslifka

I still have 1/2 too.  Should have sold the rest when I knew CEO was going to be on CNBC.. :-\

Anyway...after such a huge run-up...a stock like this can go either way.  This one dropped..not unexpectedly after a black candle like yesterday.  The 38% fib retrace is at 3.92sih...which it got close today and the 50% is around 3.45.

By no means do I believe this stock will close this gap any time soon...but it may trade sideways for a time.  Speculation will drive this until news comes out.

just FYI some SIGA facts:
Quotation (I am agreeing with all the information I am posting here  ;) ):

SIGA Technologies has demonstrated 100% protection against human smallpox virus in a primate trial. That is the news that sent this stock much higher & on volume. What everyone is failing to see with an open objective mind is that this platform is going to work on other bacterial strains. The platform has been proven. SIGA's platform developes drugs that prevent symtoms of disease wether it is done at the same time as the virus or 24 hours after. SIGA pipe line will be good for many post-exposer treatments

May 2005 analyst presentation (please read carefully!):

Knobias report (very detailed basic information):

Quotaton part 2:
Here is some DD I performed for my own use which some of you may find usefull. Read the most recent press releases first then take a look at the following information.

1. Smallpox is classified by CDC as a Category A agent (most dangerous). "Category A agents are believed to pose the greatest potential threat for adverse public health impact and have a moderate to high potential for large-scale dissemination."

2. Vaccine available but no treatment exists. "Smallpox can be prevented through use of the smallpox vaccine. There is no proven treatment for smallpox, but research to evaluate new antiviral agents is ongoing."

3. Competition. Cidofovir (used to fight HIV) and VIG may have some benefit. "Early results from laboratory studies suggest that the drug cidofovir may fight against the smallpox virus;"

But has significant side effects and efficacy is unclear.

"Complications include renal toxicity, neutropenia, fever, anemia, headache, hair loss, uveitis and/or iritis, and abdominal pain; monitor neutrophil counts; IV prehydration with NS and coadministration of probenecid can minimize nephrotoxicity; monitor serum creatinine and urine protein 48 h prior to treatment (adjust dose accordingly)"

Also: "There are two medications that may help persons who have certain serious reactions to the smallpox vaccine; vaccinia immune globulin (VIG) and cidofovir. VIG has been extensively used in the past and felt (but not shown in controlled studies) to be effective. Cidofovir may be effective based on studies in animals. Treatment with these medications may require the vaccine recipient to be in the hospital. They are investigational and may cause a number of serious side effects themselves."

4. Since August 2, 2006 SIGA has recieved over 27 Million in funding to advance its platform including 16.5 Million from NIH to "support the development of SIGA-246 through the preparation and filing of a New Drug Application with the Food and Drug Administration" for Smallpox.

Quotation part 3:

5. On 14 March, 2006 SIGA announced a non-binding merger with PharmAthene which would give SIGA a 32% stake in the combined company:

On 25 September, 2006 PharmAthene announced that it had recieved a $213 Million multi-year contract for its nerve agent drug Protexia. Post-merger, SIGAs share of this revenue would have been $68.16 Million (213 x 32%.
After the $213 Million announcement on 25 September, SIGA's share price rose 88% to $1.99.

Despite the favorable impact the Protexia announcement had on SIGA share price 9 days earlier, on OCT 4, 2006 SIGA cancelled the merger with PharmAthene due to "recent positive scientific data and the receipt of approximately $27 million in grants for its smallpox and arenavirus programs over the last several months, which amount includes a grant of $16.5 million from the National Institutes of Health..."

6. In December 2005, the FDA granted SIGA-246 Fast Track Status.

About Fast Track:
"Under the FDA Modernization Act of 1997, designation as a Fast Track Product means that the FDA will facilitate the development and expedite the review of a drug if it is intended for the treatment of a serious or life-threatening condition, and it demonstrates the potential to address unmet medical needs for such a condition.
This fast track designation gives...the opportunity to submit a Biologics License Application (BLA) in sequential sections, and have these sections reviewed as they are submitted, thus saving development time. A BLA is the biologic products equivalent to a New Drug Application and is the final stage before a drug is approved for the market by the FDA. Fast track status also opens the possibility for receiving a priority review of the BLA where the review time would be halved to just 6 months."

7)
Siga-246 will be purchased by the USA goverment.
The New York-based company said the Department of Homeland Security has designated smallpox a "material threat" to national security, so Siga-246 "will be eligible for purchase for the Strategic National Stockpile under Project Bioshield."
