Hi...what with the ascending triangle :

High positive volume - lots of buyers    --> not enough
Low negative volume - not many sellers
Highest relative positive volume on breakout
Price has not hit the top resistance three times; if it has, this is bearish  -->more than 3 times
Price has hit the bottom support three times; if it has, this is bullish  --> not made...only two times

--> I have the impression that pps could go to 0.55

What to think about VSGN,
TIA,

Hi IdFix
My TA is noted on chart of what my opinoin about VSGN. I would look for something making higher high's and higher low's to enter.
Goodluck trading

VSGN may be heading down...but watch for a bounce on the ascending trendline.   It needs to close above .74 to be a breakout...but as apex of the triangle gets narrower chances are it will breakout.  Keeping a watch on it. ;)

Sebfr,
Excellent picks on ascending triangle breakout!
How do you pick you ascending triangle breakouts?  Do you use special software, or subscribe?  Also, what other indicators do you use to help you, eg money flow, macd, etc?

I am new to TA, and am trying to learn more.
Thank you!

Thank you LuckyFish  :)

I do not use special software or any subcribe services for finding chart pattern...And you ? I use stockcharts and prorealtime (free !) for my own strategy. Software is a good help. It permit me to select between 0 - 100 stocks each days. After i take a look on each item. Subscription services can be an help for a beginner trader. Some are good. I have tested a lot at the beginning  ;) ! But an advise : be your own master in the last decision to buy or sell.

When i have time and when i search stock to trade (buy or sell), if i find ascending triangle i post them here.

I it can help you, for finding ascending triangle you need to have a new high (close). At each to choose the time duration (high of 20 days or more...).

If you want to learn more, with foruml, don't forget free service as "incrediblecharts.com" or "stockcharts.com". It is free. Many many books talk just about technical analysis wich you can find for free !

Cheers.

Hi Seb:
I was looking around on the web, and came across www.stockfetcher.com.  I am just using the free version right now, but might subscribe later.  I will look at the others that you mention.  What time frame do you use when looking for triangles?
Thanks!

GTOP : ascending triangle breakout could happen at any time. This will be the second breakout from same ascending triangle if it happen's. Could be on it's way to filling the gap made from fall at the end of July

AMD probably won't be a stock on fire anytime soon but there is no denying this ascending triangle!  Risk is minimal here if a stop is set below the ascending trendline while reward could be great if you factor in the upcoming Vista release and what is sure to be the beginning of the PC upgrade cycle.  Could this or INTC be a good stock of value?
