Maxi,

Hmm-mm...  :D

Nice recovery off the 3.35 low to a new high of 3.84 for the session!

The break of the Wolfe Wave could have been a downside fakeout.  Anything back inside the pattern, where XNN is now, at 3.80, has short squeeze possibilities.

The Wave #5 fakeout and the weaker volume at Waves #3 and #5 bother me, though, so I'll stay out of it.

Good luck!

Maxi,

Well-ll, she's rounding the Club House turn and heading for home, now at BID 3,63...ASK 3.64.

XNN has rallied 219% in just seven days, so a lot of good news already has been priced into the stock.  Earnings better be very good, or it's ripe for "Buy the rumor...sell the news."

I don't always sell ahead of earnings, but in this situation, especially with that break of the Bearish Wolfe Wave and with the stock hanging perilously below it at the moment, I'd have to err on the side of caution to protect profits, and sell it.

Good luck!

Xenonics Fiscal 2006 Fourth Quarter Net Income Increased to $753,000 Versus a Net Loss of $3.2 Million

XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC. (Amex: XNN), a leader in advanced illumination and low light viewing technology, today announced net income for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006 of $753,000, or $0.05 per diluted share, versus a loss of $3,198,000, or $0.20 per share, for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005, as revenue increased more than four-fold to $2,340,000 from $529,000.

"We expect this trend of increasing revenue and profit to continue in fiscal 2007," said Alan Magerman, Chairman of the Board.

"One reason for our confidence is the planned commercial roll-out of our patented SuperVision(TM) night vision device in fiscal 2007. With its unprecedented resolution and range, zoom capability, light weight, and attractive pricing, we believe that SuperVision has the potential to revolutionize the night vision industry. U.S. patents on our SuperVision technology have been allowed and international patents have been filed. We have ordered components for 10,000 devices for delivery between January and August 2007, and production of the first 3,000 units is set to begin in January at our facility in Carlsbad, California.

"In addition, several of the military programs we have diligently pursued for our patented NightHunter family of high-intensity illumination systems are expected to come to fruition beginning this fiscal year. As we announced last week, we have authorized production of 1,200 NightHunterII's for delivery between January 2007 and March 31, 2007 to meet our second quarter forecast.

"The launch of SuperVision following more than two years of intensive development work will create significant new opportunities for Xenonics in law enforcement, public safety, recreational, and other large commercial markets that we believe will complement our military business and support Xenonics' rapid and sustained growth for years to come. Our goal is to build Xenonics into a significant growth company. With NightHunter and SuperVision, we have the right products to make it happen. In fiscal 2006 we recruited proven sales and marketing executives and developed the national distribution network required to achieve our aggressive revenue and profit goals. Our entire management team is energized and committed to effectively executing our business plan. We are increasingly confident about Xenonics' future," Magerman said.

Fourth Quarter Results

For the three months ended September 30, 2006, revenue more than quadrupled to $2,340,000 compared to $529,000 for the three months ended September 30, 2005. This increase primarily reflected the previously announced shipment of NightHunter systems to the Defense Logistics Agency.

Gross profit for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006 was of $1,767,000, which included $797,000 related to the sale of excess inventory during the period. For the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005, negative gross profit of $1,704,000 included a $1,953,000 charge for excess inventory.

Selling, general and administrative expenses for the three months ended September 30, 2006 were $826,000, which primarily included $311,000 of non- cash stock-based compensation expense. This compares to selling, general and administrative expenses for the fourth quarter of 2005 of $1,636,000, which included $575,000 of non-cash stock-based compensation.

Net income for the three months ended September 30, 2006 was $753,000 or $0.05 per diluted share. This compares to a net loss for the three months ended September 30, 2005 of $3,198,000, or $0.20 per share.

At September 30, 2006, Xenonics reported working capital of $2,329,000, and a current ratio of 4.5. Magerman noted that all of the $2,194,000 in accounts receivable at September 30, 2006 have now been collected. The Company has no debt.

Fiscal 2006 Results

For the twelve months ended September 30, 2006, revenue increased to $4,833,000 compared to $4,434,000 for fiscal 2005. Net loss for fiscal 2006 was $1,488,000, or $0.09 per share, which included $1,102,000 of non-cash stock-based compensation expense. This compares to a net loss for fiscal 2005 of $5,004,000, or $0.33 per share, which included $1,052,000 of non-cash stock-based compensation expense.

njshiva,

That sure sounds good, doesn't it!?

As we all know, it's the reaction to earnings that matters, so just a suggestion: watch out for a "Gap To Crap" opening like GIGM had on November 9, 2006, when it reported that Q3 net was nearly a quadruple, and that revenues doubled.  UGLY "Gap To Crap" that day in GIGM, on heavy volume (chart below).

As I mentioned yesterday, there's a lot of good news factored into this stock, given the seven-day rally of 219%, and we all know the "Buy The Rumor...Sell The News" game.

Watch to see if XNN gaps up near or above its recent high, then begins to tank...tank...tank...

If this good news isn't already factored in, XNN should show strength, and not tank right after the open.

Good luck to those of you long.  I hope you get a BIG rally out of the earnings.

That looked rough ahead of earnings.

The Bearish Wolfe Wave target came close, but didn't quite get MADE.

CC is happening now, forget the short-term technicals .... ;)

Melf Elf

XNN printed another penny below this 2.63, to 2.62, so that's close enough to consider the Wolfe Wave Target MADE.   My lines could be off a little on this intraday Scottrade chart.

XNN is down 27.2% from yesterday's break of the Wolfe Wave, at 3.60.  These WWs don't always work out, but this one was classic with the big Lead-in to Wave 1, the successively declining volume at Wave #3 and Wave #5, and the Wave #5 upside fakeout before the break.

Melf Elf,
Thanks for the analysis. I didnt take any position in this though. Even if I had, I rarely hold on to earnings(got burned too many times)  ;)

So much for the next TASR .....  this one is tankin    :P

Not to worry.  These major selloffs offer great reentry.  Long term potential is huge.

Alister,

The short-term technicals are what the momo boys pay attention to.  ;)

The conference call resulted in a reaction high in the 11:15AM bar, just below resistance from Wednesday's low, then XNN tanked almost 20% from that high to the Wolfe Wave target.

Ignoring the short-term technicals depends on our individual tolerance for risk, but XNN tanking from the break of the Wolfe Wave at 3.60 to the low of 2.61 at the Wolfe Wave target is a drawdown of 27½%, well beyond my own risk tolerance.

Maxi,

Yeah, you want to use a stop loss, particularly on these volatile stocks.  They can be big winners, but they also can hurt you on the downside.  You'll get 'em next time!

njshiva,

That's not a bad idea just to stay out at earnings especially, it seems, when a stock has had a big run ahead of reporting.  As we discussed yesterday, stocks seem to tank so frequently on good earnings that we know the drill: "Buy the rumor....Sell the news."

It almost seems that if anyone TRIPLES or QUADRUPLES revenues, we should close our eyes, and automatically short it!  :D

It will be interesting to see how this stock does, longer-term.  I pretty much stick to the technicals and only have looked at it from the short-term perspective of that broken Bearish Wolfe Wave.

Traderdog,

Good luck with XNN.  I don't have any opinion on the longer-term, but have enjoyed (and applauded) your information on the company.
