I was going to post on CPST last weekend in Melf's Workshop on the Personal Log Board.

Topic: "Identifying The Trend"  CPST: 16 Bearish Moves    :o

I decided that the post would be too long, and too boring.  ;D

But, from the April 19 Double Top at 4.47, there actually are at least 16 moves in the stock that clearly are identifiable as bearish.

CPST is bucking for Poster Child, for "Record Number Of Bear Moves."  :D

Bear Move #17 - Mid-October Failure at TRIPLE Resistance:

1. The 1.74-1.75 lows of July-September. ( Failed on October 13, 16 and 18 to get thru there).

2. The Top of the Bearish Rising Wedge

3. The Declining 50DMA

Bear Move #18 - November 1 Failure on a Doji Star Hangman at DOUBLE Resistance:

1. The down trendline off the August 30 high, validating that trendline as resistance

2. The Declining 50DMA again.

For this sustained Bearish Trend even to turn neutral, CPST would need to take out that validated down trendline (purple) and the November 1 Bearish Doji Star Hangman high of 1.65.

But, immediately above that,  is the band of resistance from July-September, beginning at 1.74-1.75.

There are two months' worth of candles from 1.74 to next resistance, at 2.23-2.25, playing for The Bears.

There are about one and a half months' worth of candles below 1.74, playing for The Bulls, so they aren't too badly outnumbered.  That's okay.

CPST has a chance here, of turning this around.   The 13/21RSIs are at Bullish Synchroncity (see next chart), and the MACD is positioned to go up through zero on a rally (I'll post that chart, too).

It would be nice to see CPST bang off that up trendline (purple) off the 1.25 low, validating it as support, then go up and knock out the top of the pattern and that Bearish Doji Star Hangman.  Show us something that looks bullish.

That up trendline comes in today, November 6, at 1.4341.

The Devils' Night and Halloween lows both are 1.40.   >:D

If 1.40 breaks, CPST likely is in for a 1.24-1.25 re-test.  :P

I'll go ahead and give CPST the award, for "Poster Child For A Record Number Of Bear Moves."

If any of you have read my analysis of CPST in FOUR folders, you might suspect what's coming...

Bear Move #19:

1. False Breakout of the Symmetical Triangle (pattern in purple)

2. DOUBLE TOP in the false breakout, at 1.65 and 1.65, exactly.

Bear Move #20:

Gap down below the Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in purple).

Mercy!

I know that most of you only want to hear things about stocks that are BULLISH.  Sometimes, they aren't the least bit bullish, as in this case.

I apologize for posting how bearish this stock has been, if you're long, but I also THANK YOU for not smiting the "You-Know-What" out of me, as I've experienced in the past (VPHM, SVA, just to mention a couple), for posting my honest analysis, "right or wrong."

We've come a long way, baby, at 3SOF, and I truly thank all of you members for "allowing me" to give my opinion, without the nastiness of smites, for having worked hard to give that opinion.

As I've said all along, I couldn't care less about my outright "Applause rating."  I value my work, "right or wrong."  I respect my self-worth.  I have a "decent" read of my "value," as a trader ("just okay").

I don't like the nastiness of "smites" for offering my analysis.

Thank you for not smiting my read of CPST these last months.  It certainly didn't generate any applause for it, but I understand that.  I'm not here for applause.

I TRULY don't like unwarranted "smites."

Thanks again.

Could be ...may be  ??? this big gap down makes it cheaper for a look to get in....  :-\
Or could it go and make Melf's Bear Move #20  ;D
Melf don't apologize for posting your honest analysis, and how bearish this stock has been.
I wouldn't have it any other way. I want a man's true and honest opinion.
I applaud all the work you have put forth here..... ;)
Work of this nature (outstanding) does not warrant for someone to smite.
Outstanding work and good trading to you.

I probably deserve a smite for that.  I admit that I got too carried away on those patterns.  :D

Bear Move #20:
Gap down below the Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in purple).

Mercy!

Bear Move #21:

Failure at the bottom of the broken Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in purple)
on November 13.

Bear Move #22:

Another failure at the bottom of the broken Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in purple) on November 16.

After all of those Bear Moves, I wondered if CPST might finally bottom, and hold at 1.24 support, but...

Bear Move #23:

Closed at 1.23 on December 26, below 1.24 support, tried to rally, then closed again at 1.23 on the final session of 2006.

Bear Move #24:
Sank to a new low of 1.15 on January 3, 2007

Would that all stocks made moves that are this well-defined.  Textbook patterns, breaks of support, then "former support becomes resistance."

Why do I have an incredible urge to go knife-catching in this stock?  :D

Former demons, I suppose.  >:D

Hey Hawk, looks like it might be time to get back into CPST.  Notice the accumulation? ;)

pompano

Funny enough, about an hour after I posted "volume accumulation" and bought some shares, as if on cue CPST pops to the upside.  Lets see if it can break that 50ma this week. 8)

Over a buck !
Good solid company that has suffered from some bad decisions.
The finest producer of micro turbines is bound to benefit from the increased interest in energy production. Produces low emission solutions to energy problems that face the USA and the world in the future, Revenues increasing 20%.
On the negative side this company finances its capitalization via the sale of stock and could lead to dilution. Catching it at $1
Chart shows it has bounced off the bottom and this is a good in,
BreakOut from a bottom formation.

Nice pickup, from the looks of the volume I would say a few people agree with you. 8)
