On this topic (  http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=8945.0  ) it was suggested that the msn website has the best free analysis tools. This topic is a place to discuss and post your formulas for this site. The link above also contains three suggested formulas.

Please note:
1. you must be using a microsoft browser
2. there are two versions, both free ; basic  and deluxe, consensus is that the deluxe version is much better.
3. The deluxe version requires a download and a form of membership in msn (microsoft net pass port) all free.

4. The starting link is http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/research/welcome.asp
The download link is on the lower left of the page: Find Stocks/ Stock Screener

Good Luck and Good Trading

Do you happen to know if the stock scan tool there does intraday data?  That is probably too much to ask of a free service, but it would be great if it did or you could pay to upgrade to that.

It looks like the data is updated during the intraday. I believe it uses the same  database as the MSN money website quotes and info do.

It does manage intraday data, but it's delayed.  It's more fundamental than technical.  Anyway, I like it very much;  I have tried several and always come back to this one.

So this is what you are using to find your great picks like FALC and OSTE?  In that case it doesnt matter if its technical or fundamental as long as it keeps giving you picks like these!

(I just applauded you for SPAR BTW, I got in at 20.99, had a few moments where I was ready to bail, but came back at the end of the day to see that beautiful candle.  Hope you got in too!)

Anyway, I will check the strategy post, but if you didnt already talk about it there, how have you set up your scan?

I posted a msn screener in the 3SOF thread. It was which showed SPAR, JADE and SSYS among others on feb. 15/07.

Nicca,

Would you consider posting your screen on this thread?  I think it will be very hard in the future for people to find in the other thread.

This is a new screener, so it's not backtested,  but I hope that it will bring very strong stocks

It looks for profitable companies of any capitalization, performing better than the industry avg., with avg. daily vol last 2 weeks > 50.000 and up today in price at least 2 %.

Any comments welcome

How do you enter some of those ratios, like Last volume/Average volume, etc.?

If I want that last volume be at least 2 times avg. vol:

last vol  >=  2 * avg. vol                      it's equal to:

last vol /avg. vol  >= 2           I prefer in this way because is easier  to read the info.

For example in the picture you see the current P/E ratio for NTES is 0.38 the P/E ratio of the industry, well bellow!!
