I think alot of short squeezing is the reason the market is green today. To bottom fisher longs is not a good thing.

HomeBound

We may close in red today. Not much rum left to go up for lenders

Stocks like LEND, CFC, DHI, PHM, BAC, GS keeping are keeping the market afloat in green by running up on short squeezes. Once its apperant the mortgage problem is not getting better anytime and only getting worse the market will fall.

Just bought NVTL.  Good pick David! ;D

I think you'd be hard pressed to find shares to short right now. I'm kicking myself for getting stopped out at 7.50 this morning.

Buy some lend puts to play the downside

HomeBound

LEND is almost 120% up from it low. I would say it will succumb to gravity >:D

New here...

I recall a successful trader named Jack Carter from Louisville CO, state that as a whole stocks typically fall 4 X faster than a typical stock rise. Of couurse this means that shorts can have substantial volatility. I don't know what statistics he was citing to back his claim.

I say it is better to stay on the sidelines with mostly cash in a broadly falling market.

The trend is our friend.
