I'm sorry setravis but this last candle on GENZ doesn't mean, at all, the stock is going higher. You could have a star in the south or something like that signaling reversal of a bearish trend, but this candle in not at a low point ...

This doesn't mean the stock won't go higher, but that candlestick analysis has too much mumbo jumbo  :)

Would you like me to recommend you a good book on candles? I really love the candlestick theory too ... it is the Candlestick Charting Explained, from Gregory L. Morris.

Have a nice day, let me leave the GENZ chart here:

This was based on candlestick frequency "One WEEK", NOT DAILY!
Take a look at a weekly chart. I could not post the chart due to tech problems.
Thank you David I have read , as I don't think there is a book out on candlesticks
that I have not read. Good trading

Symmetrical Triangle (Continuation)
The symmetrical triangle, which can also be referred to as a coil, usually forms during a trend as a continuation pattern. The pattern contains at least two lower highs and two higher lows. When these points are connected, the lines converge as they are extended and the symmetrical triangle takes shape. You could also think of it as a contracting wedge, wide at the beginning and narrowing over time.

While there are instances when symmetrical triangles mark important trend reversals, they more often mark a continuation of the current trend. Regardless of the nature of the pattern, continuation or reversal, the direction of the next major move can only be determined after a valid breakout.

Edwards and Magee suggest that roughly 75% of symmetrical triangles are continuation patterns and the rest mark reversals. The reversal patterns can be especially difficult to analyze and often have false breakouts. Even so, we should not anticipate the direction of the breakout, but rather wait for it to happen. Further analysis should be applied to the breakout by looking for gaps, accelerated price movements, and volume for confirmation. Confirmation is especially important for upside breakouts.

Prices sometimes return to the breakout point of apex on a reaction move before resuming in the direction of the breakout. This return can offer a second chance to participate with a better reward to risk ratio. Potential reward price targets found by measurement and parallel trend line extension are only meant to act as rough guidelines. Technical analysis is dynamic and ongoing assessment is required.

Genzyme's Renagel Seen With Long-Term Effectiveness
Peter Kang, 11.11.05, 4:12 PM ET

Credit Suisse First Boston maintained an "outperform" rating on Genzyme (nasdaq: GENZ - news - people ) after the biotech firm released trial data for high-priced kidney drug Renagel.

Results from the study known as DCOR indicated Renagel patients experienced a 9% reduced risk of death, compared with those using calcium-based phosphate binders.

Analyst Mark Augustine said the data, recently presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Nephrology, came in consistent with expectations. Genzyme released preliminary results in late July.

The analyst said the significance of the three-year trial, which monitored 2,100 patients, is that it demonstrated the drug's long-term effectiveness, particularly for those over the age of 65. Serious adverse events were minimal and not remarkable, Augustine noted.

"We expect the impact of DCOR data and Medicare Part D to be favorable to Renagel, although in a gradual sense," Augustine wrote, in a note to clients. "Prescription trends over the next three or so months bear watching."

The research analyst reiterated a price target of $80 and highlighted Genzyme's significant leverage on the kidney drug, estimating that $100 million in sales represents an additional 20 cents per share in earnings.
