Thank you David.  Im sorry you worry so much.  You have a lot of fans at this site and it's great to be learning from a learner.  Your humility is one of your greatest strengths.  You can rest easy just knowing you are doing the best you can.  It's obvious to the rest of us that that is what is true about you.
Anyway, I'm off to buy more NVTL!  Thanks for setting me straight about the percentage. I get it now.

Havn't read through the entire thread so it might've been explained.  But how can you invest in NVTL and not look at SWIR?  SWIR has the overwhelming edge in the growing markets (South and East Asia) and has established solid market share in North America.  Explosive growth and improving fundamentals due to management change and good business decisions.  Once good quarter for NVTL and everyone is jumping on board for the ride ... four great quarters and a mediocre one for SWIR nobody takes notice?

Hi dwest718. Further back on this thread I've compared NVTL with SWIR and got to the conclusion that NVTL is more attractive. Let me make another quick comparison between the two. Over the past four quarters:

- NVTL had revenue of $286 M, SWIR had revenue of $220 M. NVTL's quarterly average revenue growth was 24.75%, with revenues growing from $45 M in Q1 2006 to $110 M in Q1 2007. SWIR's quarterly growth was just 10.87%, with revenues rising from $45 M in Q1 2006 to $68 M in Q1 2007.
- NVTL's net profit margin is expanding, SWIR's is shrinking. NVTL's net profit margin in Q1 2006 was 0%, and jumped to 9.2% in Q1 2007. SWIR had net profit margin of 4.44% a year ago, it is 2.9% now.

So, NVTL's fundamental improvement is much healthier and stronger than SWIR's. Numbers say NVTL has the competitive edge.

I'll keep holding NVTL.

dwest718

Not saying NVTL does not deserve to continue to be held  :) ... Just saying I think they are both great stocks.  I have a bit of a bias as I own a good bit of SWIR and only a few shares of NVTL.  I do hold both though... it's been a nice run so far  ;D

spiritgate

David, do you have any reaction to the execs at NVTL selling their shares?

According to this information guess the guys that bought in the last 15 mins were
plain fools ??

NVTL will present at a conference tomorrow:

• Novatel Wireless to Present at the Craig-Hallum 4th Annual Institutional Investor Conference
Business Wire (Mon 8:30am)

And insiders sold a few shares (they didn't have many, at least for now, but of course, they have outstanding options):

• Novatel VP Sells Shares
AP (Mon 10:16am)

There's nothing to worry about insiders selling, it always happens when stocks go up a lot and most of the times it isn't linked with the company's financial performance.

I'll keep holding NVTL, as it keeps rising towards $30.

David Randolph

Nothing new on NVTL, I expect the company to raise Q2 guidance anytime between now and the earnings release, I'll continue holding NVTL.

David Randolph

NVTL continues to consolidate recent gains, I'll keep holding the stock.

NVTL will present at a conference on May 30:

• Novatel Wireless to Present at the Cowen and Company 35th Annual SMid-Cap Technology Conference
Business Wire (Thu 8:30am)

The stock tried to push higher early in the day but the general market woes took it down slightly by the end of the session. NVTL's relative strength continues. I expect the company to raise guidance for this quarter or to beat expectations when they announce results, as demand for its products is very hot.

I'll continue holding NVTL.

What report Dracull? Second quarter earnings will be out just in mid August, relax.

Dracull

No report, I mean conference...my fault, I didn't read it right.

Usually companies don't say anything new at conferences. When they're going to say something materially relevant or different they usually pre-announce it so that everybody pays attention. It would be nice if NVTL pre-announced that they would be raising guidance at this conference, but probably not, there's still more than a month to go before the quarter's end.

Banging on the $22 door now :)
