Update on chart.  Looks ready to move higher, even in this down market. ;D

kslifka

Here's a low float supplier to the solar industry.  I'm back in.  I like the chart set-up....and they just paid off much of their debt. :)

Just an update on ASYS.

1. they announce earnings on Wednesday, which I believe they will beat analysts estimates of revenue of $13.3 million/EPS of .15
2. ASYS has had multiple solar orders from YGE.
3. TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amtech Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASYS - News), a global supplier of production and automation systems and related supplies for manufacturing solar cells, semiconductors and wafers, today announced that it has acquired R2D Ingenierie (R2D), a solar cell and semiconductor automation equipment manufacturing company located in Montpellier, France.

New order.   :D

Best part is $19 million just in solar orders since Oct. 1st...which is much higher than any other quarterly revenue in company's history.  And this $19 million is just the solar order part of the business. 8)

Not the kind of re-action you expect after an announced contract.   >:(

I think the offering from last month is still weighing on the price action.

However I would rather see a stock down a little before earnings(Tomorrow PM) than way up. ;)

Crap....ASYS beat the EPS estimate...but guided lower for next quarter due to delayed shipments. ???

Sold most after hours at a loss.  >:( Will watch in a couple months to re-enter. ::)

Amtech Systems Expects to Break Even in Fiscal 1st Quarter on Delayed Shipments, Higher Costs

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Amtech Systems Inc., which makes semiconductor manufacturing equipment, said Wednesday it expects to break even in its first fiscal quarter, citing delayed shipments and higher operating costs.

The company projected fiscal first quarter revenue in a range of $11 million to $12 million, up 16 percent to 27 percent over the year-ago period. Amtech expects revenue to drop from the fourth quarter due to certain shipments being delayed until the second quarter.

The company also forecast higher operating costs for fiscal 2008 due to higher sales in Asia-Pacific where it uses third-party sales affiliates, accounting compliance costs, higher write-downs and its hiring of additional production personnel.

However, Amtech said it expects selling, general and administrative expenses to continue at or slightly lower than its historical percentage of total revenues.

For fiscal 2008, the company expects revenue to range from $65 million to $75 million, representing an increase of 40 percent to 60 percent over the previous year. Amtech expects solar-product revenue to be the primary revenue driver with flat or slightly lower semiconductor revenues.

It expects gross margins to remain at historical rates for the first half of fiscal 2008, but rise during the second half of the year. Overall, it expects gross margins of 28 percent to 30 percent. It posted a 28 percent gross margin in fiscal 2007.

Amtech stock dropped $2.41, or 15.8 percent, to $12.80 in after-hours trading, after rising 57 cents, or 3.9 percent, to close at $15.21. The stock has ranged from $6.65 to $17.74 over the past year.
