Food Shortages Buoy Fertilizer Shares
Monday , April 14, 2008 09:11ET

The WSJ reports food shortages have triggered riots in Egypt, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Ethiopia. Such publicity further supports the bull market in fertilizer and seed producers. Last week CF Industries (CF), Potash (POT), Mosaic (MOS) set new highs, while seed producers Monsanto (MON) and Syngenta (SYT) traded near record highs.
This morning shares of fertilizer producers AGU, CF, MOS, POT, TRA & TNH are up 1% or more in pre-market trading.
Tiny Chinese rice producer, China Organic Agriculture (CNOA), has seen its share price double in less than a month.

CNOA: CEO to Purchase $2M in Shares; Believes Stock Undervalued
Monday , May 05, 2008 09:14ET

By Michael Cavallaro, [email protected]

China Organic Agriculture, Inc. (OTCBB: CNOA) announced that Mr. Changqing Xu, CEO of the Company, plans to purchase no less than $2M dollars of Company stock or no less than 1% of the total outstanding shares within a year depending on the market value of the shares. Mr. Changqing Xu, CEO of China Organic Agriculture stated, "Since the current stock price does not reflect the Company's full and fair value, and is in my view substantially undervalued, I have chosen to purchase shares to represent my and CNOA management's confidence in the Company's long-term growth."

Hi la-onda, as you know CNOA is an OTCBB stock and those are not allowed in this message board, but I suppose we can open an exception for such a highly regarded and important contributor as you are ;)

I was coming ready to upload the complete research report you mentioned, but unfortunately I don't have it in my new "tool". I wonder if it's coming from a legitimate source. Who is "Murphy"?

Hmm, I see Murphy Analytics is just one guy. According to this other guy, who is annoyed by what he claims to be "CNBC's pump and dump", Patrick Murphy received $1,000 for his report from CNOA.OB (cheap labor).

The following chart seems suspicious to me ...

That 79% fall from the high set in December 11th, 2007, suggests dilution. How's that balance sheet?

Strong on paper and also, the share count, has been stable, at least on paper.

CNOA.OB reported EPS of $0.26 in 2007, so it closed yesterday at just 5.8 times earnings. Other Chinese agriculture companies, like FEED for example, trade at 76 times earnings. Go figure ??? I guess some pumps are done well and others aren't ha ha ha, as I don't see many differences between CNOA.OB and FEED, beyond the cooler ticker symbol, trading in a national exchange instead of over the counter and having a "respectable" research firm providing very rosy estimates, instead of a single stock promoter.

I guess you got have some money to make money ha ha ha

Ok, I've been all over the map here and not providing very useful information, let me just say CNOA.OB looks good on paper and perhaps in reality, good luck la-onda and all others holding.
