I visited SVA's headquarter today and looked at their posters and manufacturing facility.

Will add my positions today and hold it for one year unless:

1. if the stock raised too much in one or two days;
2. if the stock reached the target.

Ouch.  Where is everyone?

I sold half and then picked up a few thousand shares at $4.91 at the end of the day. Is the uptrend still in intact?

It is a good sign that SVA and HEB still moved up as the group is still strong.

I bought a position back in SVA yesterday. Although I exited on MACD Histo signal on my daily chart (see post earlier in this thread) the weekly chart still remains strong and giving long signals, also today SVA pushed through the 9ema daily on decent volume (it fell back later in the day) and started to break though a previous downtrend line again on my previous post.
So I am back in SVA, I think I want to hold it whilst this WHO presentation plays out. Support on the chart is close buy so risk is controlled.

Great News for SVA

Sinovac Receives GMP Certification for its Seasonal Influenza Vaccine, AnFlu'TM'
Business Wire - October 27, 2005 08:44

BEIJING, Oct 27, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (AMEX:SVA), a leading Chinese biotechnology company in vaccine development and marketing, has announced that the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) issued a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certificate for Sinovac's proprietary influenza flu vaccine, Anflu(TM). The GMP certificate is the final approval required to sell Anflu(TM) vaccine in China (PRC).

Sinovac Director and CEO Mr. Weidong Yin commented "Sinovac continues to implement its business strategy at an ever increasing tempo. Anflu(TM) is the third product our Company has taken from R&D to sales, and we have avian flu and Japanese Encephalitis vaccines in the pipeline."

Anflu(TM) is a modern split flu type vaccine, which typically does not produce side effects. Therefore, Anflu(TM) is much better suited to inoculating children and seniors (the two groups most at risk from influenza).

Anflu(TM) is produced in a new manufacturing facility with a full production capacity of 2 million doses of flu vaccine per year. The Company plans to build a much larger manufacturing facility of this type once it obtains financing.

Since the majority of vaccinations in China occur in September and October, Management expects Anflu(TM) will become a driver for sales in 2006.

Sinovac's successful development of a seasonal influenza vaccine is a key element in technological transfer to the research and development of pandemic influenza vaccine (H5N1). Currently, this vaccine development is in preclinical stage. Receiving GMP certification for Anflu(TM) will act as a catalyst for Sinovac's pandemic influenza vaccine (H5N1) development.

About Influenza

Influenza is caused by a virus that attacks mainly the upper respiratory tract - the nose, throat and bronchi, and rarely the lungs. In the very young, the elderly and people suffering from medical conditions such as lung diseases, diabetes, cancer, kidney or heart problems; influenza poses a serious risk. In these people, the infection may lead to severe complications of underlying diseases, pneumonia and death.

Influenza rapidly spreads around the world in seasonal epidemics and imposes a considerable economic burden in the form of hospital and other health care costs and lost productivity.

The genetic makeup of influenza viruses allows frequent minor genetic changes, known as antigenic drift, and these changes require annual reformulation of influenza vaccines.

The most recent pandemics are thought to have arisen in China which has become known as the "epicenter" for the origin of pandemic influenza viruses. The 1957 epidemic (H2N2) became known as the "Asian Flu" pandemic. The 1968 (H3N2) pandemic became known as the "Hong Kong flu".

Vaccination is the principal measure for preventing influenza and reducing the impact of epidemics.

About Sinovac

Sinovac Biotech Ltd. is a world leader in the research, development, manufacture and commercialization of vaccines for endemic and pandemic viruses such as hepatitis and influenza, and for fast emerging viruses such as SARS and avian influenza (bird flu). The Company's objective is to provide Chinese children with the best vaccines in the world, and let children in the world use vaccines made in China.

this is important news (quoted from yahoo board):

French, Chinese firms plan avian flu vaccine trials here

Aim to conduct human tests on at-risk groups

French and Chinese pharmaceutical giants plan to conduct H5N1 vaccination trials on health care workers, poultry farmers and kids in Thailand, considered to be at-risk groups for bird flu infection, the Public Health Ministry's Medical Sciences Department revealed yesterday. France's Sanofi Pasteur and China's Sinovac Biotech were interested in jointly conducting the bird flu vaccine experiments on humans with the ministry.

The companies also disclosed plans to establish avian influenza production factories here, said chief of Medical Sciences Paijit Warachit.

`We have been talking with both countries. We might work with the French company [on vaccination trial projects] if we are confident about the safety of the Thai volunteers,'' he said.

The ministry has asked Japan to produce 30,000-100,000 doses of an avian influenza virus for humans and is expected to start Thailand's first bird flu vaccination trial in the middle of next year.

However, Public Health Minister Suchai Charoenratanakul said close surveillance and rapid diagnosis were still the most effective ways to control the virus.

He ordered local public health volunteers and the ministry's rapid response teams to step up their monitoring operations and to educate the public about bird flu prevention.

Thailand has confirmed 19 cases of bird flu with 13 fatalities since the first human case was confirmed on Jan 23. All of the victims lived in remote areas and had close contact with sick poultry.

There are 800,000 local public health volunteers working in villages nationwide and 1,300 surveillance and rapid response teams checking on suspected cases.

The Public Health Ministry has also prepared to stockpile 300 tablets of the anti-viral drug Oseltamivir, the generic name for Tamiflu, 50 rapid test kits and 500 masks at provincial hospitals.

The ministry yesterday put 1,228 people with flu-like symptoms under observation. There are no suspected bird flu cases on the list at the moment.

Nirundorn Aungtragoolsuk, director of the Livestock Department's Disease Control Bureau said about 300,000 poultry, including 280,000 quail, 27,000 broilers and about 1,000 native chickens, have been culled since the ``third wave'' of bird flu outbreak started on July 5.

In a weekly report submitted to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), the department said there had been a total of 64 positive cases confirmed in eight provinces in the central region of Thailand. All cases were poultry raised free-range or in farms with traditional methods where there was poor sanitation and insufficient biosecurity measures.

Meanwhile, in Buri Ram, livestock officials have been keeping a close watch on around 200,000 fighting cocks, which are usually moved from place to place by their owners for competitions.

Officials have begun issuing ``passports'' to fighting roosters to keep track of them.

Fighting cocks without passports would be banned from being moved outside the province. Provincial officers also temporary closed three cock fighting pits and banned cock fighting competitions.

In Chiang Mai, residents have been put in a state of panic over the spate of deadly H5N1 infections. A vocational school in Muang district was closed for two days after a rumour that a fried chicken vendor at the school's canteen had been infected with bird flu.

In Bangkok, Governor Apirak Kosayodhin said the capital is free of H5N1.

The governor visited several chicken and fighting rooster farms but not the chicken farm on Soi Thamrongwinitchai where 20 chickens were found dead.

lol uhhhhhh huh....... yah tell me that was just about the stupiest thing you've ever heard. I'm little delierious after todays market action so don't mind me.

Well anyways, todays price action came down and tested the ascending trendline in the semi-log scale. Hopefully its just a retest and we won't see it drop below that line. The semi-log trendline stands 6.17 tomorrow and is rising at .074/day.

In the linear scale the ascending trendline is not so steep rising at .053 /day and is farther away from price action. Tomorrow the ascending trend stands at 5.15 in the linear scale.

Good luck longs,
