How to turn off auto refresh?

When you have a forum open and it sits for a while the page has some auto refresh script it seems as it will in time go back to the main index and this is very annoying.

Is there a way to turn this off? Have checked user preferences and not found a way to do it.

Thanks

Theres a script runing, we have to insert the on/off option, it's on the «to do» list ;)

Thanks for the reply. It will be nice to keep a forum open and then manually refresh that specific forum.

The site is down a lot of the time also - it may be a DNS problem- as you have an unusal situation as using your IP address takes one only to the cgi directory - maybe your host just has problems.

Anyway thanks and good luck

Just a thought but if probs continue turning off auto refresh would greatly reduce server/bandwidth load. I am assuming this community has grown exponentially over the past few months.

Metro,

I just figured out that if you minimize the forum while you're doing something else, it doesn't refresh, and interrupt what you're doing. Try that. I hope it works for you.

Melf Elf - thanks but I use Firefox and does not matter if the tab is open or hidden or if it is in a seperate window. If a forum is open - after some time it has reverted back to main forum index. The script keeps running so it seems the script just needs to be changed.

I am guessing that some kind of meta refresh tag is coded into the main index.php.

So is there going to be a solution soon to the auto refresh....it is very annoying, when you're reading something and it justs returns to the main page.

thanks David and Frederick.
