Down trendline breakout.  Nice First Half 2005 pattern.

Quite sweet. Last time I was in the stock it was trading much higher. It's almost two years ago from now.

I'm quite sure I will just hold till tomorrow's open. Newbies like me love a well-known stock like AMZN.

It's got a nice looking chart, Ram.  I'll post an updated chart in the AMZN file I started a couple of weeks ago when AMZN had a trendline breakout so that we can keep the charts and comments on one thread.

Updated chart from the trendline breakout two weeks ago:

Nice day for AMZN.  The Bullish Island Reversal target (see chart) 43.38 - 43.59 MADE this afternoon.  High on the day, 43.74. Take profits at targets.

AMZN currently is BID 43.58...ASK 43.59, up $5.84.

Thanks, Austin.  It sure was nice to see AMZN race to that target after watching so many frustrating "false starts," like ECIL, DHB, GIGM, IMOS etc. etc. etc.   ;)

Was looking into AMZN earnings numbers and I wasn't impressed AT ALL...

I think AMZN has great potential as a short play... :o

Valuation way too high.

I went short today on AMZN.  And do not expect to cover for quite some time.
We will see.
Just one opinion, do the research

Hi,

a sell strategy...

News on Zacks.com :
"Investments not paying off" http://www.zacks.com/newsroom/commentary/index_pdf.php?id=3724

Technical analysis :
1. Major downtrend
2. Breakaway gap
3. We have a pullback and it is near 50%retracement and near gap
4. Volume are enough low to say : "it is just a pullback"
5. An ascending triangle is formed

Strategy :
1. Sell now
Close at 31.70
Stop-loss at 33(resistance) or 34 (62%retracement)
first Target : 26
second target : 23
2. Sell when ascending triangle is break
3. Buy on ascending triangle breakout

Reward/risk ratio of 21.9 / 4.1 = 5.34...As it is a great ratio we can increase our stop-loss at 34...
