The company has strategic alliances with The Gillette Company, and collaboration agreements with Harris Corporation, Intermec Technologies Corporation, Flextronics International USA, Inc., and E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company. Mechanical Technology was co-founded by Sternlicht in 1961. The company is headquartered in Albany, New York.
